I'm glad your ultrasound wasn't uncomfortable on your neck. I get a duplex on both sides of my neck every 6 months which is also an ultrasound. It IS uncomfortable. I feel pressure on my neck that I don't like and I do not feel pressure on my breasts for a breast ultrasound...just messy from all the gook they slobber on me.
Remember..that in medicine nothing is 100% and so we gotta hear what they DO know and just keep going on....
What did they tell you, if anything, about Graves Disease?
I wish they'd send some of that water our way. I was looking at our dusty driveway today and looking forward to rain washed sidewalks in the States, especially in Florida. When I return to Israel each time, I realize just how dusty it is here. I get used to it until I go to the States and then I return here and all I see is sand.... -
Debbie -
You've got some answers now...sorry you have to deal with all this. My BIL's sister has Graves...she is fine with medication. Hang in there!
Graycie -
Good luck to you today with the first of your tests for the dizziness. I know tomorrow's test will be more involved, but wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you! Take care.
ravdeb -
I'm sure all that dust doesn't help with respiratory conditions. Hope you get some rain...

Hi Girls -
Just quickly checking in...going to the Y...hope you're doing well...I suspect most are holding out til the waters calm... -

Why was Victoria's post deleted? Just wondering >:(
-
Debbie, Glad to hear your ultrasound went well. Not exactly sure what Graves disease is but it sound's like it can be controlled by medicine so that is good.
Thanks Laura, Part one is over. They put loud sound's in my ears to see how the nerves responded. Sound's dumb to me but anyway they said everything looked good with that test. Now on to part two tomorrow where they hang me upside down........lol......just kidding everyone. Atleast I hope not. I did have a slight dizzy spell when he had me lie down so not looking forward to tomorrow. -
Laura..we live in the desert..no rain from April/May until November/Dec or even January. Very short rainy season and usually very little rain but we do get some...
Gail..good luck!
I am also curious as to why Victoria's post was deleted. Did I miss something? -
Debbie, there was a TORNADO in Brooklyn, NY. Talk about weird weather!!!!
-
Hey Amy, How are you doing? How's the foot and that little puppy of your's? I guess he's got you hopping in more way's then one. No punt intended.......lol
Take care -
This is soooooooo funny...I'm sitting here in the guest room of my car dealer, while my oil (actually - my car's oil - mine is depleted thanks to Tamoxifen) is being changed! I just love this technology - it's everywhere.
One of the guys here said I look like Victoria Beckham (sp). I so live under a rock and didn't know who she is! So - jokingly I said, "well whoever she is, she must be beautiful and intelligent! - LOL)!. He said, "she is - she's one of the spice girls!" OMG I really LOL! Will have to google her...
Cars ready...gotta go!
Have a great day!
Hope TaDah's okay...yikes - that is really rare! -
OMG, That's funny. I guess that's a compliment, I better goggle her too because I don't know who she is either. She did have a show on TV a couple weeks ago but I didn't see it because I didn't know who she was.
-
Whuuut? You don't know Posh Spice aka Mrs Beckham, wife of David Beckham? He just moved over to play for the LA Galaxy soccer team. He used to be captain (I believe) of England's soccer team. We actually call it football in England .
Yes, a tornado touched down in Brooklyn of all places. I think the Lord is coming for his world!! Too many strange things going on for my taste! Its about 1200 degrees and I'm sipping a Dunkin' Donuts Lemonade Coolata. They are soooo refreshing.
So I spent Tuesday floating in the pool at a girlfriend's house and the chlorine got with the chemical in my hair and turned it into one big knot! I spent hours last night with my stylist untangling that sucker. I have a headache from all the pulling and tugging. -
Debbie - so glad your US was ok - hope all is well!!!! You crack me up, btw!! ("that makes us the 'babies'...")
TracyNy - ooooh - that sounds painful!! Lemonade Coolata sounds good, though!
Graycie - I ditto Laura, good luck on the tests!
Amy - hope you're resting and enjoying the puppy!
Ladies, hope you're all staying cool today and having a great day! Lots of love to all of you! -
So how old are you babies? I guess that makes me one of the elderly...I'd rather be a baby..lol
Lemonade Coolata, I will have to try that. -
Okay..a new thing to try..Lemonade Coolata. There's a Dunkin Donuts walking distance from my girlfriend's house. I'll try that on the way to buy a slush. I do all this kinda stuff while I'm in the States and then return home to mundane healthy drinks and foods.
The wierd weather is a result of the global warming. We need to stop polluting our air or else we are all going to burn to a crisp with the higher temps or die in a flash flood.
I forgot to tell you all that the other day when I was on the beach I saw a gigantic tortoise that had gotten washed up onto the shore. It was dead. It was the size of a dog! I have never seen anything like this except in the zoo! I took a picture on my cell phone and when I find the cable so I can put it on my computer, I'll post it. -
I googled the spice girl! Yikes...I only wish I looked like her! Right before the oil change I had gotten haircut that happens to be similar in style to hers, got some light blonde highlights put in and I had on a pair of large rimmed black sunglasses. So I think that's why he thought that. But hey, underneath it all...no way! LOL
TaDah -
OUCHY WOW, WOW! That really does sound painful. Hope it's okay now...2 of my 3 nieces have naturally blonde hair. If they go into a chlorinated pool too frequently, their hair turns a light shade of green! I take little Shelby to a hair salon when she visits and they give her a treatment to neutralize her hair. That Lemonade thing sounds SO GOOD! I'm heading there tomorrow!
------------------------------
Since we're down to the "nitty-gritty" with firming up our get-together agenda, I think it might be wise to communicate the specifics of the final plans via e-mail... this would be easier for me, because I can e-mail you all at once. If I do it here via PM - I have to copy and paste each message individually. I hope this is okay. I won't bombard you with info and lots of them...I'll keep it simple and to the point. Is that okay? -
Hello everyone,
Been away for a while. Visiting my beautiful beach up here in Scotland - where summer has arrived - well at least for a couple of days. Took the kids, mil and two of their friends. So many people in a flat so i got the short straw or at least the air-bed. For the last couple of days we put up a tent and the kids camped out so I could steal their beds!!
Enjoyed meeting Debbie a couple of weeks ago. We had a right good chat.
Hope you are all well and those of you going to Chicago have a great weekend.
All the best
Jill -
Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice - i think she is more famous in UK and Australia. She WISHES she was more known in US!!! Beautiful - maybe (although you should see pics of her prior to all the plastic surgeries and makeovers), intelligent - hardly. A perfect example of someone having waaaay too much money and being famous for no reason.
So Laura, i think you are better than that lol!
Girls have a look at this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU8DDYz68kM
its a bit long, about 8 min, but worth watching.
Perhaps we can be called 'buffalo sisters'? -
Paula -
LOL - Thanks! And yeah...if I could choose to look like someone famous - it certainly wouldn't be a spice girl! LOL - will check out the video...hmmmmmmm...Buffalo's, Elephants, what's next! LOL
I think Kelly would vote for a Giraffe - tall and lean! LOL -
Hey Paula, I can relate to BUFFALO sister.....lol
Kelly, Did you happen to feel the earthquake?
Laura, I can see the resemblance. I agree with Paula you are better. At least you aren't fake.
I can't believe it, my husband just came home with a pizza and it is 9:00 PM......I'm starting to get my appetite back and of course I never turn down pizza so off I go.........lol -
Paula:
This week a new TV show started here in the USA. It's called "I-Caught". It is a program telling the behind the scenes stories behind the videos and pictures sent out on the internet. So, this video you linked up to was the very first story they told. It was shot by a guy on a safari, a tourist, who hardly ever uses his camcorder. But, he was way lucky and got that movie. It is absolutely amazing. They went and interviewed game wardens in Africa who never found the body of the little calf and so they believe he lived and grew up. The guy with the video wasn't going to do anything with it, but another man on the safari wanted to send it to a friend, naturally, and so they put it up on You Tube. The rest is history. I hope they broadcast this show to you in Australia. It's on the American network, ABC.
Have a good one!
Mary -
wow, thanks Mary! I wondered what happened to that little calf.. glad to hear it might be ok! He/she would have quite a story to tell its grandkids!!
I'll keep an eye out for the "I-Caught" program. They would most definitely be showing it on Discovery Channel or something like that. -
I started to watch it...OMG - I have never been able to watch animal stories like that! I love National Geographic - and here I'm dating myself -...remember Mutual of Omaha on Sunday night...many years ago, but I always had to leave the room during segments like that! Now even as an old lady (LOL) - I have to close my eyes and cover my ears and then Roy tells me when it's safe to open them! LOL Even if the ending is good, I just can't watch violence. I know it's really about survival though...
-
it's got a happy ending Laura - watch it!
-
Deb - are you sure its a tortoise?? Remember the Israeli hamster incident??LOL Are they common where you live?
Laura - via email is fine to me - remember nou to use my old email - i have no access to them. Which makes me think , i cant get to it but its still there - will it have been collecting emails for all of these weeks? OMG!! There will be loads in there!! Oh Well.
I will watch the you tube thing with my breakfast shortly.
I cant believe that you didnt know Victoria B . I guess that meand that 'Brand Beckham ' hasnt taken off properly yet. I am sorry - but what a waste of space!! Wait till you see photos of her wedding !! Well worth searching out - they had thrones!!
Jill - good to see you! You have had good weather for your hols. My sister has been in Newcastle all weekand they are grumbling as they dont do sunny weather!!
OK , off to watch Paulas vid
Debbie
Gail - i am 35Rosemaries a tad older i think.
Have youe tests reached a conclusion yet? -
What time are we aiming to get there on Friday???? (Warn you - timekeeping is NOT my strong point - i start off with good intentions though!!)
-
Debbie -
I'll pm you. -

Yes, the video is awesome, I've forwarded it to family members to see how the herd saved the calf!!
I'm fine with Rocktober sisters, I'm definitely not an elephant or a buffalo. Don't even see the need to call ourselves anything else. Unless of course you wanna call ourselves Roctober hot mama's ...... LOL (but that means I'll have to get to working out more).
On that note.... I was able to squeeze in a 20 minute walk with the dog after dropping off Miss Muffett at school. Did do a bike ride this week and will do something active on Sunday! -
Is there enough rain in NY? My word, I'm waiting for the ark to come floating down Broadway!
I could drink a lemonade coolata but it needs the sun for its full effect. Who's got what planned for the weekend? My gifts for you all arrived this morning so I'll be wrapping. -
Tadah:
I'm going to my sister's house again to pet-sit for the black lab, the sheltie, and the mutt. . . . oh, and the 2 cats. I'll be there for a week in a house nicer than my own with 3 big screen TVs, a pool, air conditioning, and all the animals. I also plan on keeping up with the Mets. When I married my husband I got infected and have been a Mets fan ever since. I am also going to be working on the surprises I have planned for everyone.
When do you arrive in Chicago? I'll be there on Thursday afternoon.
Mary
