So I'm at the wine shop browsing and see not one but two wines with notices that x% will go to breast cancer organizations for each bottle sold. One was pink - the bottle anyway. The other (that I bought, couldn't deal with the pink bottle) is called 2 Brothers Big Tattoo Red.
It says on the back:
This wine, you hold in your hands, comes from two brothers - Alex, a wine importer and Erik, a tattoo artist. Together they created Big Tattoo Red in honor of their mother, Liliana, who passed away from cancer in 2000. Alex created the blend and Erik designed the label using Liliana's favorite symbol, the Fleur de Lys. For every bottle sold, the brothers donate 50 cents to a hospice and/or other breast cancer related charities in the name of Liliana S. Bartholomaus. Since its inception, Big Tattoo Wines has raised over $850,000.
Alex and Erik thank you for purchasing this bottle of Big Tattoo Red in honor of their mother, Liliana.

That ought to put an end to whether or not a glass of red wine is good for breast cancer!

! Very cool-- I wish I liked wine!
-
I'm going to look for a place that sells this wine. What a touching thing for the two sons to do. It's so nice to watch your kids play nicely together ... these two are doing business together and honoring their mother at the same time. Seems like a great reason to drink wine!!!
Karen -
That is very cool!

Not only saw the same bottles but drank it as well!!! It is a very good wine.
BRAVO!!
Valerie -
buying some ASAP! Thanks for sharing this...

Hi Jorf,
Now this is good news all the way around. I'll share this out to circle too.
The Italian wine market is closed at the moment as is a few others in Europe, but that is changing. Maybe this wine would be one to make it's way in.
A reminder that dark chocolate and red wine are a combination without words.....and good for the health. Salute! -
Always knew that drinking was good for bc!

Our local wine shop/art gallery has carried Big Tatoo Red (and the white as well) since it opened. It is a great all purpose red, reasonably priced (under $15.00; if memory serves, I think it is $12.00)and usually a part of my 'wine cellar'. (Well, I would have one if wine just didn't taste so darn good.)
Salute! -
Great!!
Count me in too.
To me, everything
that involves wine it's good.
I already have cheese ready
for when I see
one of those around here.
Cheers!! -
Whoa acgw - I think I spent $9. But this place tends to have better prices than the other places around ($10 every day for a Mark West Pinot Noir that Whole Foods had "on sale" for $13).
Yup, my Big Tattoo Red and my Adora calcium. Yum Yum.
