Is it the heat or what?????
It is humid here and in the 80's. But I just feel like staying inside.

Yep . . . seems to happen to me during the summer as well.
-
My hot flashes from tamoxifen are much worse in the summer when I'm hot. I carry a paper fan with me in my purse, and use it when I need to. My face turns beet red for a few minutes, and then I break out in a sweat. I find it terribly embarrassing when I'm with people. This week I was having meetings with some of the staff at the rehab centre where my sister is, and it was happening every few minutes. I just hate it.

I'm so old, I've outgrown hot flashes.
But I still get them from stress, and from the summer's heat and humidity.
It's nasty, isnt it?
Gee, I stay out of the heat of day any more, as much as I can.
But I can still remember having real long hair, living in The City, wearing my hair down, and not minding the heat a bit.Seems miraculous now.
Stay cool, Janis! -
I am burning up and I am only in chemopause! it HAS to be this heat and humidity.
-
I have never been good in the heat and those annoying hot flashes only makes me hate summer more. I really can't stand them. Worse yet, all my co-workers who work with me on the same floor don't like a/c. Working overtime without a/c really takes a toll on me.
Hugs, -
Don't like a/c? What the heck is wrong with them??? I grew up in the hot, sticky South and I've never liked the heat. I now live in a cooler, dryer climate but we are having a terribly hot summer. Most people here don't have a/c and they are wishing they did. I've had more hot flashes than ever this summer. Staying inside.
-
I have a/c and freeze everyone around me at home. AT work it is a/c, but I still get hot. Thus I have 2 fans. One on the destop pointed at my face and the other (larger) under my desk aimed at my body.
I feel for you, but at least get some fans and maybe ask the girls to get sweaters.

We went camping last week. Everyone was in the sun but me! Give me the shade, a good book or magazine, a cocktail and I am all set. A fan would be great too!
-
For me it's not so much the heat, but the humidity.

I was just noticing today how miserable it is. I think it's the humidity, but whatever it is, it can stop. I used to love the heat but my "aged", estrogen-deprived body can't take it anymore!!
-
I'm having a harder time in the summer. It's such a drag because I've always really enjoyed the heat and I've always loved working out in the heat. Now I get hot flashes when I'm working out and it's really just like being way overheated. Oh well. As I said on another thread - I'm still trying to call them "amusing"!
-
One of the best summer activities, is a nice cold beer or two at a ball game, a barbecue or a festival. Alcohol is NOT a good idea with the hot flashes. When I am out, I drink anyway. Am I glutton for punishment or what?
~Dorie -
I am the glutton for punishment! I can't take the heat or the beach...I just want to sit in my air condition car or house!! lmao.
