The news about Michael Vick and dog fighting is almost unbearable for us animal lovers to hear. So I thought I'd share a link I received today.
If you want to send a message to Nike about its decision to continue (or not) sponsoring Vick, go sign this petition.

I so agree what he did was awful I live in VA I think the courthouse is going to be mobbed in the am with protesters
They have shirts out that say something about Stop Dogfights Neuter Vick -
I hope the NFL suspends him also
LuAnn -
Hi, Donna.I have already signed this. But thank you for posting it here. The poor animals need all the help they can get!
-
I signed it too. I cant even watch the pictures on television when they are talking about MV! I have to change the channel.
This is deplorable and I hope he goes to jail. Also hope he gets kicked out of the NFL!
Nicki -
Thanks for the link. I can't see any team wanting vick now, no matter how well he plays-- the negative PR would be way too much. Even if Vick gets off, people aren't going to forget his part, whether active or passive, in this cruelty.

Just utterly cruel and barbaric, Donna.
Have no TV to see CNN coverage
(and do not want to)
just heard radio talk shows
with PETA
I add my empathy and prayers for the animals who are victimized by the meat harvesting industries who breed them into lives of torment and abuse them with chemicals and hideous living conditions
Here is another link relating to it

(((
I will pass this on -
I dont even know all the details dont want to know. When it came on the news my husband told me to leave the room, he knows how we feel about our pets and all animals.
Hes not an athlete, hes a monster and should never be a hero for any young child.
~Pam -
Thanks for the link, I signed it and passed it on to all my friends.
He is a cruel, evil creature and should be kicked off the NFL as well. This movement will snowball I'm sure. He's finished~ -
I have to turn a deaf ear to the news when they start talking about what happens to these animals. And don't forget, his clan is not the only one's doing this to animals. I don't care if it's a rooster fight it's just plain wrong. These people are sick!
Shirley -
I just signed. Thanks for the link!! I agree with Amy, I can't see anyone wanting him now or people forgetting this. I'm going to hug my cat
Hugs,
Stacy -
Like most of you I cannot even listen to the details on the news when they get specific about this brutality. I hope that he is dropped from the team and that his role in this whole thing is truthfully revealed with the punishment to follow fitting the weight of this crime. When it comes to abuse of kids, seniors and animals I want the book thrown at the perpetrators.

My sister is mad also She has a Pit Bull Puppy and that little thing is her Baby. although he is almost as tall as I am and is not even a year old Yet.
I think the saddest thing I seen on our local news today was a pitbull with a tShirt on that said Stop Killing My Family -
Shirley, I have to turn the channel or mute the tv when they're talking about this stuff-- particularly when they actually show what's going on. I usually have a strong stomach-- I watched one of the beheadings online a few years back and didn't feel the same disgust in my stomach as I did with animals. I can see bodies of dead or wounded people-- but when it comes to animals I have no tolerance.
From a psych perspective, hurting animals as a child is one of the strongest precursors to antisocial behavior in adulthood- becaused it involves the ability to feel empathy for those in a weaker position and that carries through to adulthood. Of course, not all antisocials are serial killers--but they're all scary folks who usually never change. -
Amy, I can't watch the TV when they show the "clips"- WHY do they even SHOW the clips of the dogs mauling eachother???
I want the NFL to permanently suspend him. But they can't because he is innocent until proven guilty- unlike the Duke LAX players who were guilty until proven innocent and had their lives ruined in the process.
I signed the petition and will sign anything else I have to to put an end to this horrid, barbaric practice.
