Anyone ever hear of this book? Someone from my old church sent me a copy, and it looks really great. It was written by four cancer friends who are "too young for cancer," and are 30 or under. I've only read a few pages so far but I am sure the book will be finished soon.

It's a wonderful book. A real tear jerker though. It takes place in my area and I am familiar with that particular Nordies, some of the hospitals mentioned, etc. It was a hard to put down read. I've always been interested in your forum name. My son is also a band teacher.

i read it a few months back... i liked it very much and it was a very easy read... unfortunatley 2 of the 4 women have died, one before the book was finished and the other this past year (2006) it is very sad, but they really get across how everyone's cancer is different, how they each handled very tough decisions and all the emotions that go with this disease. i think for someone just diagnosed, this book may be a little scary, but for us "moving beyond" women, it's good.

Deb, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I went to the website and they have some wonderful pictures of the girls. I began reading the preface which is offered page by page. It grabbed me from the first paragraph.

Aw, heck. I read that Patti died, but I didn't know any of the other women did. That really sucks, freaks me out, and makes me mad all at the same time.

I can't wait to read it.

Here is another one I am wondering if anyone knows of. It is by Nicole Johnson, and it is called "Stepping Into the Ring." She is NOT a survivor, but she writes it from the perspective of a survivor, and gets it right on the money. She is a dramatist, actually, and the book is one of her performances she has given in the past. I got to meet her this past weekend, and I just gushed all over the poor lady. It was so cool!
