Dream job...hmmm...will have to think about that one.
I would love to travel to Greece, btw.
Debbie and V - great pics! Debbie, I know John Michael will love exploring with Mark in the woods!
Amy - can't wait to see pics - hope you're feeling ok - be careful driving!
Linny - so sorry about your sister! I can only imagine how difficult this is for all of you!
Cathy - can't wait to hear all the details of the NY shoot!
Ok - off to start my day... -
Graycie -
Yes, we got ALOT OF RAIN! Almost 2". You should consider adding an outdoor hot tub to your wish list (there's one on my wish list). My friend has one, and she uses it year round! Even when it's snowing. It's quite an experience...being snowed on and sitting in an 85 degree bubbling hot tub! -
I think my fantasy job would be a personal shopper. Spending other people's money and buying clothes and accessories all day? Sweet!!
More realistically I would create desserts. I'm currently working on one involving vanilla ice cream and toasted coconut. -
A Personal Shopper would be GREAT! But only if there was no budget! (I hate that lousy "B" word!) LOL
-
Dream job for me is being a mother. If I ever win the lottery I will build a fantastic house and take foster kids to care for. When I cannot sleep I often lay there and plan out what the house would be like, developing a floor plan, the bedrooms, baths, etc. I currently think about a great back yard with all the standard toys, equipment, pool, hot tub, and deck, flower garden, waterfall, and rock garden. I would even put in an elevator so that if some of the foster kids had disabilities, there would be no obstacles.
Mary -
Laura: send me measurements of Buddy Love's neck and I make a little collar for him from the leopard material! Maybe even add a few rhinestones.
Mary -
Mary - that dream job speaks volumes about you. If ever I win the lottery i will build it for you!!
I would love to own a flower shop , and I would love to be able to take fantastic landscape pictures that make you happy.
Broke up today - Woohoo!!
Going out tonight and POURING with rain - not woohoo.
Saw thyroid consultant today - he said that he had never seen results like mine and they were 'simply horrific'. My levels are going back up - one is 1390 instead of 50. oops.
Laura - i will look , see if i can find anything that doesnt make me look like Bet Lynch!! Your job sounds really interesting - dead glam !! Did you wander around calling everyone 'Dahling and ordering weird coffees?LOL -
Mary -
Your dream job is really nice. Those kids would be very fortunate! Didn't take you long to find something to do with that fabric! Thanks for the offer...Bud's neck is a whopping 11" inches! He's quite a little guy.
Debbie -
You coulnd't look like Bet if you tried! Quite amazing that she was raised by very strict Catholic parents. Hmmmmm...what went wrong! You gotta love her coat though...I think Graycie has one like that!
Let us know how the pole dancing goes...shame on you, you nice Catholic girl! LOL
--------------------------
This is so cool...
JanClare, one of the girls from our Illinois Survivor thread who lives 3 minutes from me (she and I speed walktogether), asked if I wanted to be part of a filming for an ABC World News Tonight segment with Charlie Gibson. So, this morning, I went to her house when the film crew arrived and they filmed she and I speed walking. The segment is going to be about the benefit of support groups after a bc dx and will air on Monday. It was fun. They told us to walk and talk as we normally do...I told them that wouldn't be a problem because we seldom have a moment of silence anyway! The camera man sat in the back of a minivan - with the door up and the mini van drove in front of us as we walked and he filmed. Sometimes they don't use all the footage, but it would be cool if they include some of us or at a minimum some of just JanClare. -
Good Evening Sisters,
The week has just flown by ..looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow its Saturday!!!
My total now is $650 for the Run for The Cure. One of our sales guys donated $250.00, I;m am speechless .
What a beautiful gorgeous day today and it is actually cool tonight like a fall evening!
Our young couple that were going to get pre approved for the mortgage have been looking at other homes, so I guess ours is not on their agenda .
We did have four showings since yesterday. Another young couple with a baby came last night and then when we got back home afterwards the real estate office called twenty minutes later to say that they wanted to come back for a second look at 8:30 p.m. last night. They came with both of their sets of parents, the cars in our driveway was amazing. They stayed for ½ hour and we are waiting to see if they will present us with an offer. We also had two more showings tonight that overlapped each other, two agents from the same real estate office with two different sets of people. I rushed home and quickly got pups fed and swiftered the floors again and again (#30 showing was tonight.LOL). We are trying to set a record for the # of showings and no offers, I have to laugh otherwise I will wail ..
This weekend all that is on my agenda is to take dogs out for a walk each day and then go grocery shopping and do laundry, not venturing too far away want a break from running around.
I cant believe we are all going to meet in about 5-6 weeks, it is fast approaching. My interinary has changed 4 times since I booked my flight in February, will have to look and see what the actual times are now.
Laura my dh wants a Jacuzzi or a deep tub in our new home when we actually get the opportunity to buy one.LOL. I dont care either way though.
Are we going to sit around the camp fire and sing songs too?
OMG I laughed my silly head off, buddy love would look cute in that outfit, where do you find this stuff? I could just imagine Scooby in something like that she would chew the outfit the first time she wore it.LOL>
Thanks I just wanted to make sure that you were not forking out all the money to make us a big feast and know that it is truly appreciated!
Another celebration while we are in Chicago, your right do we need a reason to celebrate? We will celebrate our sisterhood and that life is good!!
Another celebrity in our group, way to go Laura!
Graycie I cant believe that is October will be here soon, hate breast cancer awareness month, it was the month I was diagnosed, will be my 2 years Oct 26th. It is important though for those that are not fully aware of what to look for but a constant reminder in your face for us survivors.
I do like the highlights and I actually noticed that I have pieces of hair that actually hang down the side of my face now, yes!!
Tracyseattle It is nice of you to be thinking about us and bringing things with you to Chicago.
Deb glad to hear that your nice is better, what a relief for you to not have to worry now.
Not sure what the tingling arm means, do you have a lymphodema sleeve. Here they are about $65 CDN for a basic one but is measured to fit you right and does help with the swelling.
Rosemarie hope you still have your fingers crossed not takers yet you would think that we had a dumpy house or something starting to get a complex here.
Cathy your experience in New York sounds wonderful. Where are the pictures going to be? Sorry cant remember what you said?
I believe you are working hard, cant begin to keep up with your schedule!
Your grand daughter is such a sweetie and yes I can see the importance of the date. A new life was brought into the world and you were given a second chance at life to be shared with your grand daughter.
Amy sorry you are now in a walking cast and have to lay off the gym. It sucks as you have worked so hard to build up your strength and now this . Bet you cant wait for Kelby to arrive. We are anxiously awaiting pictures of her in her new home!
Debbie444 wow, you got to meet Jill, what a great picture and you all fit on the same couch too. Your daughter looks so much like you, little Debbie hopefully she doesnt inherit the accident prone gene, sorry couldnt resist.
My dream job would be have to think about that one
How disappointing that your thyroid numbers are continuing to climb? What is the next plan of action, change your meds? Are you feeling crappy again as a result?
Tahdah I wont forget your birthday as that is my youngest sisters 40th birthday and I will be in Chicago meeting all my other sisters. Cant wait to meet you and wish you a happy birthday in person! When are you arriving and leaving?
Now I could see you being a personal shopper!
Cindy another celebration, all the more reason to have some chocolate cake like I need any.LOL.
How are you feeling?
Victoria What is on the wall in the last picture, is that stain glass on the wall? It is very cool looking.
Linda sorry to hear that your sister has to go into a nursing home to be cared for sometimes life deals you some shitty cards but your family has gotten a double dose now with this situation. It has to be so tough seeing your sister like this and feeling totally helpless to not be able to do anything sorry it is not fair as she is quite young.
Sorry you wouldnt be able to make it to Chicago.
Glad to hear that Issac is doing really well!
Mary hey headbands sound great, some of us have wild hair that needs to be kept back, nudge, nudge just kidding. I have all kinds of headbands. I dont anything that is cheetah though, starting to feel left out .
Give your friend lots of healing hugs. She is lucky to have such a caring person.
Have a great evening ladies.
Love Michele -
Hi All!
Today was the first day of Nordstrom's Anniversary sale. It is HUGE!!! They recruit people from the corporate offices to work in the stores for the day. So today, I worked in the Kidswear department - stocking merchandise, putting fitting room clothes back on the rack, etc. It was fun, but I have to tell you that those ladies WORK HARD!! My feet, legs & back were killing me when I left there!
HEY! GUESS WHAT??? My contact from the American Cancer Scciety called me on Wednesday and invited me to attend the Cancer Society's Great Northwest Summit in RENO Nevada!!! All expenses paid by the ACS! It is Sept 7 & 8.
Then later, my Relay for Life Chair called me and asked me if I would be her Co-Chair for the 2008 Relay. I said YES! Then she invited me to attend the Summit!
So, I am off to Reno in September! My Relay Co-Chair will be my room mate and we are staying an extra night so that we can go to a show or something!
Aquafest is one week away! It has been raining like crazy the past three days - Think Sunshine for me!!!
Well, gotta run for now..... -
Cathy -
For some reason, the photo of you and your little one ...JUST showed up on my monitor! Hmmmmmmmmmm...that's weird. But anywho...she is so cute! You both look great. And she's probably cuter every year.
Debbie -
What are the Dr's going to do about your Thyroid levels? Do you have specialists there called Endocrinologists? That's who specializes in Thyroids...unless that's who you are already seeing.
Meeshell - my bell -
Bummer! I can't believe it hasn't sold! Those people have no taste! LOL Should you take it off the market and sit tight for a while? Darn...would you re-coop the costs if you were to totally remodel and change the pitch of the stairs...something to think about. NO?
Congrats on the fund-raising for your team! Isn't it a great feeling! I'll be starting fund-raising of my own soon, as soon as Komen opens registration for the 5 k walk here. My team is called No Surrender. We did it last year and it was great...this year our team will more than double! Good luck with your efforts. -
Had my seventh of 12 Taxol/Carboplatins Friday, came home and took a long nap. I typically have a hard time going to sleep Friday nights because of the steroids, so dh and I went out at midnight and bought two copies of the brand-new (and final) Harry Potter book.
Then we both proceded to read the entire book in one sitting. No kidding! DH finished around 9 a.m. while I didn't get done until 10:30 a.m. Good grief!! For some reason, I couldn't go to sleep. All I've managed today is a two-hour nap. So I'm really ready to sleep!
The book is good. We both really enjoyed it. Do NOT read the last chapter first!!! -
Hey Cindy, nice to see you hanging in there. Only five to go.
I've never read any of the Harry Potter books. I went to the cinema to watch the first one and my posterior fell asleep!! They should have warned us to pack a lunch, that movie was so daggoned long.
Nordstrom's sale..whoo! My heart gave a little flutter there. I would work for merchandise! Congratulations on your invitation to the conference, Tracy. Free trips are always a plus.
I'm arriving in Chicago on Friday the 24th around 3pm and leaving on Sunday morning around 9-ish. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you too.
I'm going to the devil's lair, Target, to spend the mandatory $100. It never fails, they are marketing geniuses over there. -
I am seeing the endo man - he has quadrupled one of my tablets and tripled the other , whilst changing it for a similar type.We will wait and see.
I have bought some animal print PJs , they have pink in them too as ireally couldnt face doing a Bet!
We have the new Harry Potter book - only i wont give it Mark till his birthday on Thurs - and i wont let Cat read one either as she wont be ablt to resist telling him what happens!!
POle dancing - sorry girls - I didnt do it. We met up in a cocktail bar where the cocktails come in Pint Glasses. By the time we got to the bar with the poles , I darent try climbimg the ladder onto the back of the speedbaot where the poles were - didnt think i would be able to get back down again in my heels!!
Cindy - glad you are doing well. I am afraid harry Potter would have sent me to sleep. I read them all so i could understand what the kids were on about , but didnt strike me as spectacular. Saw the new film - how come the Weaslet twins look around 40 tears old ??LOL
Hope it stop sraining soon - we have warned Mark that we may have to call off the camping trip to Legoland - hope not.
Debbie -
Amy - thought about you today - we had tickets to the Tennis tournaments (I know NOTHING about tennis) today in Indy. We took the kids - it was HOT!! But it was a nice experience. John Michael took his Harry Potter book and read the whole time...
Cindy - getting closer to the end!! Yeah!! I can't believe you guys read the whole book, btw!! Holy smokes!
The rest of this day has been so slow and sleepy. We went to an Irish pub/restaurant for a late lunch and then came home. Mike has golf on the TV but he's fast asleep on the couch....
Hope you're all having a wonderful day!!!!!! -
hi ladies,
kelby is chewing on her toy next to me so i have ten seconds to say hi this is a lot of work! she's adorable, so sweet (slept through the night in her crate!), learning to go to the bathroom outside, but wants constant attention. everytime she closes her eyes, i grab harry potter and try to read fast i need to load all the pics and then i will post as soon as she is asleep right now she is growling and trying to kill her bed. ah...it's like a baby! -
Amy - Puppies are SO FUN!!! Enjoy it!
Just a quick one as I am at work....
Well, Ladies, this is it - Aquafest is this week! It has been pouring rain since about last Thursday - it has to stop now.... We need good weather!!!
I went to Emily's memorial service yesterday, very sad but very nice at the same time....
Just wanted to check in and say Hi! I will try to write more later, but this is going to be a crazy week.....
WHHHEEEEEEEEEEE...... Here I go! -
Cindy.. wow..read all the book! I need to pick up a copy I ordered to bring to my sister. She wanted the British copy and couldn't get it in the States. I only read the first Harry Potter book and though I thought it was good, was not into it.
How are you feeling?
Debbie..I hope you get that thyroid stuff taken care of.
Mary..I was touched by your choice of a dream job. My dream when I was a bit younger was to adopt a baby girl from China as there was a documentary (and my girlfriend had just returned from China) where they talked about the way they tried to get rid of the girls there..it was horrendous....
Had a busy weekend with cousins here from the States. We took them all over the northern part of Israel. It was great but I'm exhausted.
Had an appt with my neuro-ophthalmologist today and all is well except the dry eyes. She told me 4 drops a day now...that is doubled from what she said before. It's from the chemo. I never had this problem until I had the AC.
Good luck Tracy, with Aquafest. Your job sounds great, too! -
Here she is
-
Beautiful pup, Amy!!!
Good luck Cindy! You are almost done!!! -
I was at the "Y" this morning and while I used the stair master I saw over and over again the devastation in your are area! Are you okay...I am so worried...
-
Amy - the puppy is too cute for words! adorable.
Cindy - hooray, you are getting there!!
I havent read any Harry Potter books (seen the movies though) but already know how it all ends.. dont worry, wont post any spoilers!
bad news - my friend cant travel to US with me. I am not too happy with him as i have already started planning my Hawaii holiday after Chicago. Now i am doubting the whole trip .. again. I am sorry girls.. still not sure if i can make it. I'd love, love, love to... but i have to be realistic in regards to finances. -
Amy..your puppy is adorable! Have fun! I know it's a lot of work but it's fun work..I hope!
Paula..I'll be very disappointed if you are not with us in our International Room. We will post a pic of you and Jill if we have to. Really wanted to meet you!
Oh Debbie...is all this flooding by you? Let us know.
V..how are you doing with all your paintings? I'm still behind in my AB. One day I'll reach page 50! In the meantime, I'm making a birthday one for my mom.
I can't seem to get my energy level up after the busy weekend. I was in bed by 8:30 pm last night and awoke at about 7 which is an hour later than my normal wake-up hour without an alarm clock. Am still feeling terribly lethargic. I know that I can't go without a normal night's sleep and be busy all day long as it takes too long to get my energy level back up. Was never like this before chemo so it is definitely because of the chemo. I feel great when I keep my regular sleep pattern, though.
But it was so much fun to chat away with my cousins til all hours of the night. They are tons of fun and it was fun to laugh about old times when we were growing up.
Time to get to my birthday book for my mom. Must get this done!
Have a good day everybody. -
I am fine - thanks for asking. The floods are further south than us this time , about 70miles away. I am glad they have missed us - whole towns without drinking water , ekectricity or sewage sysstems. A lot of my town is still not open from when we flooded - another would have finished them i think. The army and Navy are rescuing people and bringing in water and sandbags Our camping trip to Legoland for Marks birthday looks doubtful - that part of the countyr is in melt down - the camp site is dry so far - but next to the Thames - plus more bad weather given.Plus our birthday present to him is hasnt arrived yet - the floods again!!
i went to the DRs with Mark today - got some antibiotics for a cough i cant shake. I have slept on the sofa these last two noghts as i am keeping all of th ehouse awake!!
On a good note - yesterday found someone who would give me travel insurance (not for teh BC or Thyroid - but they would carry me) and booked the car. Def coming !!
We were looking for something definitely English to bring - how many of us are there going to be? -
Glad to hear you are okay. I just googled your area, actually....
Which reminds me..I googled my full name and got another person who is quite successful. It is NOT me! -
Hi Girls -
Just wanted to say a quick HELLO - Will write more later...
Have a great day!
Debbie -
Glad you're being spared! Whew... -
Debbie, glad you are ok. SoCal could use some of that rain!! Normally we have 37 days of rain and this year we have 25% of our normal rainfall!
-
Hi Again -
Did any of you see me on the ABC WORLD NEWS last night? They showed me and JanClare speed walking at the very beginning when Charles Gibson talked about what was going to be on the news, and then when the segment came on they showed us again. Here's a print form of it...and they don't have a video clip or I would have attached that too:

Cute Puppy -
He looks just like you two! LOL -
No, I didn't see it and clicked on the link, can't find the video!!
-
PS everyone: I got my first child support check in the mail! The state found his job and have started garnishing wages!
