That was last week! -

Enjoying the summer! Where did you think we were?!
I'm here in a white eyelet gypsy skirt and white espadrilles, navy twin set, head full of blonde curls and heading to Manhattan to see what's shaking.
Really, I'm going to a breakfast to meet some friends and chat for a while. Then I may go to Loehmann's and see what they have that I may need. Contingent on my feet, these wedges are about 4 inches high and new so I don't know how long I can walk in them before I have to call EMS!! -
Today was haircut day - mine and Sams. Dropped Sam off at 10 , pick him up at 4.30 - what are they going to do to him for that long LOL. As for me - Purple and blonde seemed a good idea. I am told it will fade to a maroon over a couple of weeks. Otherwise you will def know its me in Aug!!
Kelly - thats where my Summer has gone!! Legoland cancelled - poor Mark. We are going to try and get into the Simpsons movie , then for a meal to make it up. Good point - His present got here today (mountain board) I am sorely tempted , but dont think they would let me fly in a plaster cast! -
Debbie -
What color highlights did Sam get? -
Im here, sorry for not keeping up to date this past week. You dont have to guess what my time has been spent doing yah cleaning the house.LOL.
I wont talk about it in this post as it frustrates us beyond belief .
My dh and I went to see the Police concert on Monday night and didnt get to bed until midnight and then up at 7:00 am as I stayed at my moms as she lives around the corner from my work and the bus station where we left from to go to the concert. Yesterday I was dragging my butt at work, thankfully it was payroll day and my mind was kept extremely busy.
We are headed up to the trailer this weekend for some rest and relaxation. Then one more week of work next week and then off for two weeks, yippee!!
My total for the Run for the Cure is now $700.00 and rising .
Rosemarie just wanted to say hi!
Tracyseattle how cool, all expenses paid to Reno Nevada, good for you!
We have had very little rain this past month, being told to conserve water and the town people have been told to water lawns according to odd/even numbers of house.
Big hugs sister about your friend Emily.
Laura the lighthouse found me ha haJ
Our listing expires August 31 so if we dont sell we will sit tight until next year sigh dont want to go there at all changing the stairs would be a small fortune as the landing for backend of the upstairs runs down into the basement and they run along side the kitchen. Kind of hard to explain but it would be a major renovation!
Yes it is great to know that people care and want to do something about getting rid of this disease and then someone actually said to me---- well I have lost 7 family members, each a different kind of cancer, have contributed for all these years to find a cure and they havent found it yet, I think that someone knows the cure and the government is making too much money so one will never be found talking about deflating my positive attitude and momentum! Pooey on her!!
Congrats on doubling your team size!
Missed you on the news.
Cindy wow you read the entire book in one night, I couldnt concentrate to read while on chemo as my brain was so fuzzy.
We are cheering you along to the finish line sister, 5 more to go
Tahdah if you worked for a retail outlet you would have to tie your fingers from buying the whole store, haa haaJ
Debbie444 sorry that Mark had to cancel his outing to Legoland. The rain there seems rentless, you must have our rain?
Yipee, we get to meet our English sister and her whole family, what an adventure this is going to be ladies
Dont worry about the hair colour, we know what you look like, we just have to listen for the wonderful English accent to find you!
Amy Kelby is a cute puppy, looks pretty mischevious to me! They are a lot of work but totally worth it. How is your ankle doing?
Deb my eyes are dry too. Do you wear contact lenses? I find that if my eyes are really tired now my lenses tell me, ouch!
Hands up here too on being tired when staying past my normal bedtime.
Paula that totally is not fair of your friend to bail on you like that, was so looking forward to meeting you you must be really disappointed.
Kelly that is wonderful news that you are finally getting the child support that was due to you a long time ago, it will certainly take some stress off of you financially.
Love the holiday pics, Teryn looks like she enjoys the beach. The beach looks so relaxing .Is that your RV? Its gorgeous and looks new.
Wheres Maryanne?
Hope you ladies are enjoying your summer and cant wait to meet everyone in a little over a month!!! WOW!!!
Love

I was starting to worry about you!
Where's ravdeb? Hope all is well.
I like TaDah's assesment...everyone's busy enjoying summer! -
Hi all - just a quick check in. I am really busy with Aquafest. Unfortunately it is turning out to not be fun at all. People complaining, people angry and of course it is all toward me since I am the one in charge. I am also having issues with the "mean" woman again.
It is going to be a long weekend and I will tell you that I am done with this for good come Monday. Life is too short and my free time is to valuable to spend it like this. I am pretty sad - it really could have been fun. Maybe it will be..... think good thoughts for me. At least it stopped raining and the forecast looks good.
Love you all.... -
Tracy, have fun and remember to enjoy the days. I am trying hard to take my own advice .....
-
I'm here..just have been exceptionally busy. I know, I always find time to post, but this time I've been busy mixed with fatigue. Fatigue is gone, though. I'm okay now.
Tracy..I feel for you with the Aquafest. I know exactly what you are talking about. It's your turn to give the throne to somebody else. Good luck and try to enjoy it despite all the stuff going on.
We took my FIL back to the hospital. He had fever yesterday. Long story but the fever has already gone down and he's on antibiotics.
When I got home from the hospital my parents called to tell me that my mom will be having knee replacement surgery. Also a long story.
Hard to care for aging parents.
Am looking forward to our weekend together in August. It's coming up and I'm not ready to travel yet. So much to do! I'm going to miss those women who won't be there as I really wanted to meet each of you face to face..Kelly, who has work obligations, Linda who can't make it, Paula who may not come, Jill who won't be joining us and Victoria who had had plans to come but feels that there are unsupportive women here who would not be happy if she were there.
I don't know who these women are but I'm very sad about this. I, personally, was looking forward to meeting our artist on the thread, who makes a living by expressing her feelings on canvas. I don't know what the issues are and I'm not here to bring them up again. I only am saying that I'm sad that any woman on our boards here might feel they are not supported and treated like all the rest of the women.
Each member on BCO is here for support because they either have bc or a loved one has bc and they are looking for support with others who are going through or have gone through the same thing.
Let's all just keep this in mind.
If you agree with me, fine. If you don't, then please keep it to yourselves as I dont want to hear disagreements on our thread and this was not to lecture anyone or start a fuss. It was only to support Victoria as I believe that she deserves it just as much as anyone else here.
Be well.. and thanks, Laura, for putting the lighthouse out for us! -
Doh - Deb i misunderstood. I scrolled back up to see if the lighthouse had been put out (as in turned off) oh dear!

Well, after I wrote my post above, I went off to the clinic in our village to see if our insurance (remember, we are socialized medicine) would pay for me to see a lymphatic therapist to get fitted for a sleeve and glove for my trip. I walked in armed with names I had finally found via internet of those therapists in Israel since no doctor would discuss this with me because I have no symptoms.
Anyway, I walked in to find out that our doctor, who started when I was on chemo, is no longer there. I mean..he's out of our HMO altogether. I am so upset. His contract was up and it wasn't renewed. This is because, I'm sure, of complaints made against him by patients. Not me. He was great..the best doctor we have had in our clinic. He came to our house when I returned from the hospital after I was very sick. He was very kind. He was supportive of me all the way and took time to talk to me. He's also a medical psychologist so this enhanced his work, IMO. We now have two new doctors in the clinic. This one I went to today was okay. He turned the computer screen towards me and had me read all the history that was written about me. I had to correct some of it. It said that I had bc in situa which is not true and would not help me get a therapist since insitu doesn't need lymphnode removal. So, he changed it and my prescriptions that weren't right and he copied it for me and told me this might help me. He was okay. But not the gentle doctor I had before. I hope this doctor will be okay, though.
I'm upset, though. On the other hand, he did make a mistake with my daughter as he told her to take a pill before the blood test to check for pregnancy and that pill you can't take if you are pregnant. She wasn't pregnant but still...that was a big mistake on his part. He apparently made others concerning prescriptions. Our secy told me that she's sure I'll hear the gossip in this little village. I'm so not connected with the people that I don't hear much unless I'm sitting and waiting to see the doctor and others are there. Such a small place though. -
Debbie..LOL..I reread what I wrote and you are right..that would be British for lights being turned off! That would have been an interesting graphic trick, though!
-
OK , its raining , Southern England is on flood alert.
Guess who are the only family , armed with a tent and some friends , who is heading TOWARDS the floods, water shortages ,lack of electric and no sewage system.
Yes , thats right - its the Wards!
Legoland here we come - watch the news for floods in Windor and Maidenhead! -
The lighthouse always works! LOL
One more stab at trying to get some media coverage of our get-together. When I was filmed last week for the ABC World News, I asked the camera man for a name of someone at ABC to contact...he did! So I am on a mission to locate her e-mail addy or phone number and contact her...I'll keep you posted.
----------------------------
Tracy -
I'm hoping you survive this weekend...too bad it turned out to be such a stressful event. Your intentions are admirable...best wishes...hang in there. Hope you'll still post pics.
ravdeb -
Sorry your Dr is gone. Sounds like you're going to have to be "on the ball" with this new one and double-check every move he makes...frustrating...because you shouldn't have to add this burden to your list of responsibilities. Good luck...
For some reason the other day Adam popped into my head! (I think that's his name...) How is he doing? I'm curious.
Debbie -
OMG - I'm quite worried about the Wards' venture...If I don't hear from you, I'll send out the search lights! You say you are armed with tents and friends...perhaps you should consider adding a boat, life jackets, snorkel gear, fins...! LOL -
well , as a concensus to the weather , i have packed the kids wellies!
-
I'm unclear as to the geographic locations in England. All I know is that we should make sure Debbie has a boat with her tent gear.
Laura...my friend Adam is doing well. He's back to work. Thanks. -
A few weeks ago when the papers had all this talk about ovarian cancer I convinced myself that my innards were rotting way from it! I had my pap which was fine and today I'm going to get a transvaginal sonogram so they can peer inside my cooch for abnormalities.
I have on a white camisole with brown spots and lace trim, brown Brooks Brothers slacks, pink mules and a matching pink cardigan and purse. Summer personified!! -
Tracy NY..good luck with the sonogram. I just had that recently and my innards are fine. Dr. Dick said so!
Yes..your outfit sounds beautiful! Hope you bring some nice summer ware for us to feast our eyes on. -
Debbie -
Are wellies...boots/golashes?
TaDah -
I love working from home, but I miss dressing up each day! I bet you look FAB!
----------------
I think it is SO FUNNY that there's a Gyn named Dr. Dick! LOL I thought I'd heard it all... -
TracySeattle: I know I owe you a pm regarding a survey you were doing, I'll get to it soon.
Amy: Kelby is a lovely puppy. A puppy needs love, attention and structure. It looks up to you for guidance. It thrives on routine and rituals. I hope you have as much fun with Kelby as we have with our little Angus.
Just got back from San Jose and S.F. I flew to San Jose on Saturday to attend a housewarming and house blessing. We all slept in this house and drove to San Francisco the next day. It was an unusually clear day in S.F. The breeze was cool, and the sun was blazing. You could bake under the sun without knowing it! Fisherman's Wharf was more colorful and noisier than I remember.
Laura: Keep those lights on for us.
TracyNY: How hot does it get in NY? I wonder what the weather will be like in Chicago?
Okay, guys. Time to have my nails done. -
dEBSometimes I am at a total loss for words and then someone says exactly what was in my heart. Thank you for your post this morning concerning how were here to support each other and I join you in support of Victoria and all my sisters here. I too was looking forward to meeting our artist sister face to face.
Kellyloved the pictures both here and via e-mail. Happy to hear ex has been found. Next stepjob relief.
TracySWeekend will soon be history. Usually only people who are actually doing something get criticized. I know you make a difference in your community and with many, many people.
Laurameant to watch the Monday night ABC news but started water aerobics after work (98 above that day) and forgot all about tuning in when I got home. Did read the posted link.
It rained buckets here this morning (nothing like it has been in England Debbie) so dont know if aerobics is on or not. Have really been loving ithas already helped with energy level and lots of little aches and pains.
To quote dEB Be well -
TaDah - i have to say i LOOOVE your posts... You are what i imagine a New Yorker should be - fun, sassy and a shopaholic!!
sorry i've havent kept in touch, work has been crazy this week. Had my 6-month onc appt, went fine. But my usual oncologist is on leave, so i was disappointed. You develop some kind of bond with them, dont you...
anyway back to work
love you all -
Hi All,
Well, Aquafest is set up and ready to go.... The vendors check in tomorrow morning at 8am and start setting up. The festival opens at Noon. I am doing better - no one yelling at me today. I guess things like this really let you know who your true friends are.
The woman who told me off on the phone Tues came up to me tonight and hugged me she asked if we could get over it and be friends again. Then she went on to say that she was just emotional that day - well, is that how you treat your friends when you are emotional? I felt like she was making and excuse that it was OK for her to say those things to me. I told her that I wasn't over it and I walked away. Guess that makes me the uncooperative one since she took the first step in trying to make things right.
Anyway - we are getting reaady for a weelend of fun and I am going to try my best to enjoy it....
Have a good weekend everyone! -
Oh Tracy..you are tough! I agree with you...just because one is emotional doesn't give one license to blast another person. And that was definitely just an excuse for her bad behavior. She should just take responsibility for it and not blame it on some emotional day! I hope it goes well for you.
Paula..I so relate to not getting to see the regular doctor. When I walked into the doctors office yesterday I was so in shock to learn that my family doctor wasn't there, that I had a hard time relating to this new doctor. I'm going back there today and will talk to the nurse who is the only stable person in that place (in terms of remaining there..not in terms of brain stability! ). -
Ladies,
Have to run and get a shower to start the day but wanted to wish everyone a great weekend. We are headed to the trailer right after I get home from work so we can go and sit in our lazy crazy and watch the world go by.LOL.
Stay safe and have fun!
Love
Michele -
Ladies..where are all the elephant sisters? We are supposed to gather around each other when one is in pain or feeling left out or going through something. We continue to gather around Cindy as she fights the beast again and this is how it should be. But what about when a woman feels she has been wrongly treated in this group. Where are you now? Only Cathy has joined me in the elephant circle. I have an elephant hanging from my purse as a reminder of our elephant sisterhood but I'm getting ready to remove it. I liked the analogy. It meant something to me but not when others don't take it seriously.
Where are you? -
Good morning everyone or Evening whichever it may be. I thought I would check in to say "Hi" before my grandson get's here and get's on the computer. I actually have the day off but I am swamped with housework so it looks like I will be doing that most of the day.
Debbie, How is your weather? I just read about all the rain you are having once again. Actually it is raining here today too but we need it.
Linny, Glad to see you. Sorry to hear your sister hasn't made a lot of progress physically. I will pray for a miracle because I believe miracles can happen.
Laura, Buddy would look adorable in the leopard outfit although he may be a little hot.......I am so mad I missed the ABC new's report. I usually watch it too.
Ravdeb, Sorry to hear about your doctor. Why is it when you finally find a MD you are comfortable with and feel you can trust they always end up leaving. That happened to me a couple times.
TracyNY, It sounds like you are our little Fashion Queen. Maybe with all your sewing talents you will end up being a fashion designer someday. I love dressing up but I never have anywhere to go.........lol
Paula, Sorry to hear your friend has backed out on you. I was looking forward to meeting you. Tell him we are mad at him............lol
Hi, To everyone else. I better go to get dressed before the little darling get's here.
Everyone have a Great weekend and Michele, Have fun at your trailer. -
I agree - we should gather around our hurting sisters but I think there are some of us who don't really know that there is an issue. I just don't understand. I've not caught wind of anyone being mean or malicious. I sorry if anyone is making ANY sister feel as though she's not welcomed. I would love to meet EVERYONE.
Please don't take silence as lack of support, I think it's just that some of us are confused and don't get it.
Thinking about all of you and wishing you ALL a wonderful weekend!!!!!
