According to the weather forecast, a huge tyhoon which is the same size as a category 4 hurricane is roaring up towards us. It's coming to directly hit us later tonight or early tomorrow morning. It's already landed in the south-western part of our country and at least 34 people have been injured.

I would really appreciate if you could keep us in your thoughts. Actually I'm terrified.

Hugs,

Fumi, you'll be in my thoughts and prayers. I know that fear. We live on the east coast and every hurricane season I HATE IT.

Please let us know that you are safe.

Thank you for all the good wishes. You gals are the best!

Apparently the typhoon has slowed down its speed so we're expected to have it sometime early tomorrow morning. (It's Saturday midnight where I live, technically 12:00am Sunday) The center of it is most likely to miss my area but it's not to say we don't need to be worried. The amount of the rain that is expected is just too much and the winds should be really strong. Right now, the rain isn't too bad and it's pretty quiet, like the calm before the storm.

I will keep you informed. Thanks again for being concerned.

    Hugs,

ps: You silly girl Erica. How can I get to your house when all the airlines are shut down? You should come over here instead and give me a massive hug. Believe it or not, Zilla is pretty much scared of thunder and lightning!

Fumi, hope you stay safe and the strong winds and rains lose their damaging properties and bypass you with just a gentle rain.

My prayers and hugs are with you,

I googled and found this (Fumi lives in Osaka):

    ************

TOKYO: Japan's capital braced for a powerful typhoon Sunday that has killed two people and forced thousands to evacuate in the country's south.

Authorities warned that Typhoon Man-Yi, packing sustained winds of 108 kilometers (67 miles) an hour and gusts of up to 162 kilometers (100 miles) an hour, would continue to wreak havoc as it traveled up the Pacific coast of Honshu island toward Tokyo.

By early Sunday, Man-Yi was south of the industrial city of Hamamatsu on the Pacific coast after lashing Okinawa and the southern main island of Kyushu Saturday with heavy rain and fierce winds.

Over 30,000 people were told to evacuate in southern and western Japan as forecasters warned of continued heavy rains, high waves and strong winds. The Meteorological Agency predicted up to 300 millimeters (12 inches) of rain in parts of the region.

Rescuers airlifted 29 people from remote regions on Kyushu island over fears of landslides triggered by heavy rains, according to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency.

Thank you, thank you, thank yooooooou!

All your prayers worked. Although the typhoon is still bringing too much rain in the north-western part of my country, the peak is over. We didn't get as much damage in my city as they thought we would. Thunder and lighting scared hell outta me but nothing major. I'm watching the news right now and thinking about what I can do for those who have lost their houses or got injured.

Thank you again for your prayers.

Fumi, anticipating the worst, but getting less is the greatest feeling. Now don't go swimming in the rain puddles.

So glad you are safe. I HATE all the thunder and lightening AND I have two cats that are scared to death of them. One of the cats was a stray, lived outside in all kinds of weather, and is scared to death of storms. But as long as we're with here she's fine. I hope you could feel your sisters with you.
