Hi All,
Afghan is in the mail....scheduled for delivery Monday..... -
yes Madison! I would love to send her the pics so she can see them. She was happy to be able to contribute to somthing as personal as these afagans are! And she knows that the work she's doing is helping to make someone like me feel loved!
-
Hey Madison, putting my squares in the mail today. Marsha
-
Hi Madison and Vickie,
Have lots of squares, just need to get around to boxing and sending. I'll let you know when they are on the way.
Hugs,
Sue -
Wonderful afghan workers.....you can send me squares. I have enough squares for 1 more afghan (which I started last night)...and then some left over...so if you send any my way I will definitely be working on them by the end of this week.
Love you all....please know that these afghans do make a difference to those who receive them. It is indeed a part of ourselves reaching out to all who are in need.
Hugs - Madison -
As an afghan recipient, I can tell you that they do indeed make such a difference! I was so surprised and honored. When I was in chemo, a friend who went with me to treatments crocheted me an afghan while she waited with me. I took it to every chemo. This one that I got from my CG's is so very special. Just the perfect weight and size. It is a treasure I will keep and love for always (if I don't wear it out). Thanks again! Pam
-
QUESTION: on the last quilt you sent a pic of.. the squares with the flowers on them.. are they also crocheted?
-
The squares with the flowers are crochet
CY's Aunt makes these squares for us. -
Madison - I have over 70 squares ready - do you want them all?
-
OMG Liz! How do you make them so fast??? Inquiring minds want to know...:)
-
My dear afghan sisters,
Well I just opened my mail and am sitting here feeling so touched. Thank you so much for the adorable card and the gift certificate!!!!!!!!
It is so kind of you to send me something for helping to construct the afghans for our hard working Madison and Vickie. It was also so unexpected and so not nescessary.
Having the privilage of touching all the love everyone put into their squares was such an incredible experience for me. I feel honored that I was able to paticipate in a project to honor and thank our 2 ladies who keep this afghan project going. I am just a small peg in the wheel that made those afghans happen. So many of you made squares. Nickie put together one of the afghans. All the beautiful squares that you intrusted me with, the sweet cards that came with the squares, and the little somethings extra that were sent was more than enough to show your thanks!!!! I am just so happy I knew how to put the squares together. Dear Madison I hope it hasn't fallen apart!
Ok now I am sitting here crying and my DS thinks I'm nuts once again. I never had a sister and now I have the sweetest group of sisters anyone could ever want. I don't know how to express how you have touched me today. I am just overwhelmed. Thank you all so much.
Hugs and kisses,
Sue -
There should be another afghan surprise any time...our reciepient went on vacation!!! YIKES.
Aww Sue...wrap yourself in all that love...isn't it the grandest thing. Lots of work from lots of ladies!
Love and hugs
Vickie -
THE AFGHANS ARE FANTASTIC
I LOVE MINE=I CRIED WHEN I GOT IT
BOO/SUE U DESERVED WHATEVER U GOT!!!!!!!!!! -
Sue - I'm so glad you got your surprise. Thanks again.
Jas - LOL My aunt did about 17 of them. I do them while waiting at doctor's appointments with my mom, aunt etc. Waiting for clothes to dry. Just when I'm in some down time. Also, sometimes I don't get to sleep until late, so do them then.
Can't wait for the new recipients to get their afghans.
Hugs -
Liz.... 70 squares, OMG I just sent Madison 7 squares. Whatever you are using must be much faster than the KK you sent me! LOL. Marsha
Boo/Sue, whatever is was, you deserve it! See you tomorrow!!!!!!! -
Marsha - I do them by hand. Once I learned how, I am so enjoying it.
Vickie - do you need squares?
Madison - how many do you want?
Someone take these! They're beginning to take over. LOL -
Boo/Sue, I am so glad you received a surprise...and YES, the afghan is still together!! (I often wonder if the afghans I have sent out has stayed together!!)
Liz, you can send as many squares as you can. I don't know how many Vickie needs.
I run borders on the squares during my lunch hour and work on construction of the afghans at night...Working on these afghans helps me relax in the evenings after hectic days at the office.
Love and Hugs, Madison -
Boo/Sue and Nicki:
Glad that you received your little gift! Hope you enjoy a nice meal out.......we all Thank You for your time and talent in helping us surprise Vickie and Madison!
Hugs,
Denise -
I hope I can write this thru the happy tears. UPS rang the doorbell and after examining the box, I was confused as to what I had ordered (haven't been on Ebay for a while). You can't imagine my surprise and joy upon reading your wonderful words and seeing the spectacular afghan. For once, I am actually looking forward to my herceptin treatment tomorrow ... I will proudly carry my Hugs with me and tell everyone how special you all are. You are as bright as the afghan laying on my lap. I will also take it with me to the hospital for my next battle with the beast. How could I not survive when I have so much love all around me? I have sewn since I was 5 and love to quilt so I fully understand how much effort it takes to make something like this by hand. A gift from the hand is so special to me.
Oh My! The tears are still flowing but they are catching in the creases of my smile. Thank you all so much. I wish I had better words to tell you how much your actions mean to me.
I love you all. Karen -
Karen, we are so happy you received your afghan. We wish you hugs and love. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers.
Hugs, Madison -
More squares are in the mail for Madison and Vickie I sent you a few.
I just love reading when someone receives an afghan.
Karen - hugs
