Congratulations on the working out, Laura, and good luck on doing the race. I think it is pretty awesome that you are getting yourself ready and strong for all your undertaking. And no, it isn't too much to ask for world peace AND a cancer cure. I've read so many times from so many writers that intentions make the difference. If your intentions are good, that is, if it is aligned with what the universe has in store for us, then you'll get it. I don't understand it all, but it sounds right.
-
Oh, and I had to run after my Angus, just to plant a smooch from his little Polish Auntie. He's very arrogant, you know.
-
Brenda..that picture of Angus is priceless! I love it..tongue hanging out, bib...perfect and on that white sofa. Tooooooooo funny!
Laura..did I miss something? A biopsy? What was that about?
TracyNY..I also had always watched my cholesterol intake and I still have high cholesterol. Even a specific diet to lower the cholesterol didn't help...in fact the numbers went up! Statins for me. Those have helped. Good luck. It's not something to play around with. Just do what the doc orders and keep on desiging new room decorations!
Cathy..sounds like a fun birthday. I love those restaurants where there are gift shops and so on. When I met up with my college friends a few years ago in the Smokies, our hostess took us to a fun restaurant where they sold locally hand made gifts that were just beautiful. And in the area were different interesting stores with hand carved wooden things of all kinds. Love that kind of stuff!
Cindy..I continue to think of you as you prepare yourself for Friday's first chemo that will kill off the "enemy".
Holiday today so kids are home. Sun tries to come out.
Have a good day everybody. -
Brenda, Angus look's so cute.. How did you get him to model for the picture? I agree with Ravdeb, the picture is priceless especially with the tongue hanging out. My puppy is gone and it is really quiet around here without him running back and forth throughout the house. Although he drove me a little crazy, I actually kind of miss him following me around. I guess I spoiled him. He was real stubborn and wouldn't move when they came to get him he kept looking at me like "can't I stay." awwwww poor Bam Bam.
Cathy, I'm glad you enjoyed your day. I'm going out with 2 of my sister's today to celebrate OUR birthday's. Our birthday's are all in May.
Laura, I can picture you in the car too. Good for you going to the "Y" everyday. Now you are giving me the incentive to join a gym. We don't have a "Y" close to us. As far as the cholesterol goes, I really don't know what to do for it either, she never said. I imagine diet and weight loss. The thing is I really don't eat a lot of fried food, red meat or egg's. I don't know what else I can cut out. Probably sweet's, they are high in fat and cholesterol I think. My sister said to eat oatmeal which I hate. I guess no new's is good new's with your biopsy. I am always glad when I don't hear back from them.
Ravdeb, I hope the fighting stop's soon. I am still worried about you.
The cat with the cupcake is on one of the greeting card's I service at work. Cute..... -
Laura, what is the biopsy for and the u/s on the abdomen for? I must have really been skimming and reading!! Glad you had fun with the Goat! There is a place here where you can race cars around a track and I've always wanted to go do that.
Gail, have a nice lunch with your sisters! -
Well, seems more missiles were launched against Israel but no damage or casualties. I'm concerned. They are threatening to hit Ashkelon and try to get people to leave the city. They (Hamas) said their attacks were successful because a lot of people left the city. But I don't think that's true. I think some did but the majority are still there. They stated that they will keep attacking Israel until we all leave.
Laura..I'll see about a picture of me in the T-shirt. Somebody needs to be home to take it. My family is dispersed... any news about the biopsy? -
Hi Girls -
Kelly - ravdeb...
I think I posted about this last Friday...
I "spotted" back in February, didn't think too much of it, and then again pretty heavily in March and then again even heavier in April. So I called my Gyn's office and she said to come in for internal exam. So I did - last Friday. But then while I was there, she said I should have a biopsy. So she took three scrapings from my Uterine wall/lining - OUCHY WOW WOW - BIG TIME, and sent them out for biop. She said the lining seemed thin - which is always a good thing (thickened is not good). So that's keeping me from freaking out. Spotting for me is not good, because I am on Tamoxifen and considered post-menopausal...so she said she has to rule out other possible reasons for bleeding. She hasn't called yet, but she also rx'd a pelvic ultrasound for tomorrow morning - so maybe she's just waiting til then to give me the biop. results. I've had some abdom. cramping and a few sharp pains on one side. An hour before the appt. tomorrow, I have to drink 40 oz. of water and HOLD IT! Yeah right...LOL - I am going to wear a diaper and bring an extra pair of jeans - just in case! LOL So...the waiting game continues...the biopsies continue...the fun continues! NOT!
Mary -
I hope you're feeling better.
Graycie -
INSPIRATION IS CONTAGIOUS! My gal pals have inspired me - so I would love to inspire you! I never thought I would enjoy it...but I truly am! As Amy has said here many times, it's very empowering. Pushing myself is a great feeling and everyday when I walk out of there, I feel great...(other than when I have been really sore from pushing myself too hard)! LOL I know you can do it...I was lucky, because my insurance has paid for my entire membership! - it's $600 per year. -
I had a nice lunch and I am home now. We went to a little place up in the village overlooking the water...Very pretty and the food was really good. UNfortunately, I am done for the day.......lol
OMG Laura, You certainly are lucky that your insurance pick's it up. Mine only allow's for certain exercise classes I think. I will have to re-check into it.
Good luck tomorrow with your ultrasound. I couldn't hold that much water, I told them right up front, no way jose' so they gave me an internal ultrasound. I hope they don't make you sit in the waiting room too long or you are going to bust at the seams. -
Good luck, Laura... I wouldn't be able to hold that much water either. I've always had an internal ultrasound. I had a biopsy of my uterine once, too and yes..it DID hurt. Not comfy in the least!
-
good luck laura! please let us know how everything goes. my bladder hurt just thinking of you...sympathy pains

Hello my sisters ..
First and foremost, happy belated Birthday Cathy!!! I have been pretty busy around the house, also had one showing Monday and suppose to have 2 yesterday but one cancelled 2 hours before hand. No offers yet
No dh went up to the trailer to open it up and do some work up there. He said the grass looks like a hayfield and there are dandelions everywhere but no mice got into the trailer over the winter. He said it is so peaceful and quite, I could hear the birds in the background when he called me.
I think its time for another trim, my hair is getting so unruly on the top and the curls are amazing, everywhere ..
I graduated from physio tonight, finally since February 6 I have been going twice a week since my car accident in January. It has become a royal pain especially since some of the showings interrupt my appts. One less doctor to see .
I am going to get my hands smacked as I havent responded on here for a few days so now have some MAJOR CATCHING UP TO DO!!!
Anyone else book their hotel or flights for August??? Its coming up soon ..
Graycie thank you for the birthday card. I received it yesterday, thanks for being so thoughtful! My sisters were here when I got home from work as they took out the dogs while I was at work as we had a showing yesterday afternoon, they saw the card and wanted to know who the Rocktober Sister was .. I have told them many times about our wonderful group and our trip in August but then my youngest sister said oh I remember now I think they try to put the fact that you have bc at the back of their minds, they dont have to worry as much then ..
Victoria I loved your picture of the elephant cake, it is so colourful. Thankyou! We have so many perinnals here that I will miss when we sell. It took years to get them where they are now full established. Menobabes, that is a new term does that mean that we have been shoved into menopause too young?
Cindy I feel your nervousness, hey wouldnt it be nice to run away from it all
Hopefully you get your port as scheduled and the first chemo goes off as planned hang in there sister, this really is unfair so soon after treatment. Chemo will blast the crap out of those nasty critters this time for good!!!
Rosemarie Your daughter is a sweetie, love the dress, what a gorgeous picture it captures the moment perfectly! I did have a nice day on my bday.
Brenda I dont know how long the fatigue issue lasts after treatment but I can tell you that I am exhausted as I;m sitting here typing this tonight. I went to bed at 9:15 pm. last night!
Deb I enjoy reading about your various holidays, its sounds like you do a lot of eating and celebrating which is a good thing. The weather has been much better yesterday and today it was 24C and tomorrow suppose to be 30C, so no frost tonight!
I never like to hear or read about war anywhere. I guess it is a way of life that you have unfortunately had to get use to we have no idea what it is like to live that way of life wondering when some bomb is going to go off somewhere. Seems so unfair having to expose school children to such a serious situation in a bomb shelter to write an exam, so sobering ..
Stay safe my sister.
Thanks for the information on posting birthday greetings, didnt know that .
Laura it was nice having Monday off, got the grass cut and all my planters organized and it was a beautiful day too! Renovations suck especially when things dont go as planned, how could they not know they didnt have the same dye lot. I would be foaming at the mouth .
That pink car is so small, looks like a toy car .
I had a sleevless top on today and my sleeve as well. Its the first time I have worn the sleeve like that to work without hiding it with some sort of sleeve. I ended up taking it off in the bathroom this morning as I didnt want the constant questions all day pretty stupid eh?
No signing on the dotted line yet .we dream about the day and hope its around the corner.LOL.
You go girl, work that body and maybe you can do my workout as well.ha haaJ
I had a pelvic ultrasound in February and had to drink all that water. I could have worn diapers that day and crossing my legs didnt help me hold the pee pee in either, it was awful. I had to empty twice before the test and I still had enough there for them to do it.
Praying for good results on the biopsy, when do you get them?
Having your membership paid for sounds amazing!!!
Kelly you will have to post some pictures of the roller skating party, sounds like you had fun too! I guess you could look at it that way, the longer it takes to sell our place the more we get to enjoy the new dishwasher but we hope to have one in our newer home. The new kitchen is nice though. But the stress of keeping the house spotless is starting to wear on us, its been 22 days since listing.
Tracyseattle sounds like you enjoyed your Vegas trip. You must have been busy to visit 20 casinos. We went to Vegas for one night last April while visiting with our friends from AZ and I was still on my last month of chemo. I was winded and had a hard time walking any distance so we only visited 2 casinos one of which was the hotel we stayed at.
I wouldnt rule out that other job, things happen in our HR department all the time, timing is off and things take longer than anticipated. Have you made a followup call just to enquire whether or not the position has been filled?
Maryanne glad to hear that life is busy for you and you seem to be establishing your new normal like a lot of us are trying to do. The cottage must be realizing for you on the weekends after such a busy week. I cant wait to go up to our trailer next weekend.
TracyNy forgot to mention that I love your new curtains in your bedroom, or did I already tell you that, OMG my brain feels like it needs to be retuned somedays
Debbie444 yap if I get down on the floor, I usually have someone help me up as I feel like my joints freeze up and after sitting for awhile I hobble when I get up. I do feel that the Armidex has aged my body tremendously, have been on it a year now. I have greatful though that I have the option of hormonal treatments.
Brenda Angus is cute! Our Scooby would have eaten that plastic bib before the picture got taken.LOL.
Cathy glad to hear that you celebrated and enjoyed your day!
Hello to all sisters .have to get ready for bed, tired tonight again!
Love you all, cant wait until August to meet you .
Michele -
Hi Sisters!
Well, I called and inquired on the job that I interviewed for today. They are having a hiring slow down right now so it is taking a while. The good news is that they have not selected someone and she even said that they are probably going to want me to come in again in a few weeks for more interviews (sheesh!!!).
I went to Borders today and bought two books one on SQL and one on Excel. I guess I need to study up on some of this techie stuff....
My co-lead got offered another job on Monday and gave her notice. So did another of my friends.... This means A LOT more work for me when they leave not to mention I HATE that they won't be there any longer. I am happy that they have found new places to go though.
Cindy - I am thinking of you - you are a ROCKTOBER SISTER! You are going to kick butt!!! We are all here for you - think of all of us gathered around you on Friday.
Deb - I worry so about you, you are so strong. I don't think I could live where you do.....
Cathy - I am glad you had a great birthday!
I have to run - it's bedtime.... I have been REALLY BUSY with Aquafest and the Relay for Life - it is keeping me out of trouble! -
Yes, it's bedtime but we just had an earthquake here in Cali ....... no damage here .....
-
Wondering how Paula is doing drainless. Hope all is well. She is probably strutting her stuff!
Linda..hope your holiday was nice. You are probably still celebrating but as you know, in Israel the holiday is over.
Good luck today, Laura.
It appears that lots of the Sderot residents have left Sderot and are in the Tel Aviv area to get some relief from the tension. They continue to bomb but last I heard, nothing has been hit and nobody has been hurt since that woman was killed. Thank G-d for that. But they aren't giving up. It seems that as the summer rolls in, the rockets start flying. What is scary is that a lot of the wedding halls have fire works for the wedding parties and it's kinda scary to hear that bang! We also seem to have more planes/helicopters overhead. That is always a sign that there is action somewhere.
Today is cleaning day. I miss my housecleaner. Can't wait to get the housecleaner back. Not sure when that will be.
No car to get to the beach cuz my son had to take it this morning. So, I need to get going and clean the house.
I will say that I think my thyroxine pills are working because I'm not as fatigued as I was before. I am able to think clearer and get more done. I am tired but it's not that lethargic stuff that I was suffering with before.
Have a good day, Everybody! -
I can't go to sleep (It's 2 a.m. here) because I'm getting my port in later this morning. Then I start chemo Friday. Sigh. My window of opportunity for running away from home has closed. LOL
I will go lay down again and see if I can get a nap in before we head to the hospital at 5:30 a.m. Ack. -
Oh Cindy...good luck today with the port. I'm sure you will be just fine. Remember..that port is your window of opportunity for cancer free days!
Wishing you the best today! -
Good luck Cindy, it'll be okay. Did you have a port before? When I went to get mine put in they were going to only make me "comfortable" but all that clanging of knives and forks, or whatever the hell they use to put those things in, was getting on my nerves. I told them to pump up the volume on the happy gas and wake me when it was over!!
Next thing I knew they were wiping me off with a cold wet towel and that was it! -
Cindy: Hope the installation of your port is uneventful. I know it won't be the most pleasant experience, but the advantages of a port are well worth it in my book. We are all thinking of you and praying for all to be well.
Mary -
All went well. Back home 5 hours after we left. I'm tired so heading for bed. Whew!
-
Yay Cindy! Glad that's over! Now on to the fight! Rest up for round one. We're on your side with trunks up!
-
Hey - good for you Cindy.
Earthquake? Nearest we ever had was when a large lorry got lost and went through ! -
Laura - look on ebay.co.uk - there are loads of figaros!!
-
I had to go back and read to see what you were talking about. Kelly..glad there was no damage in the earthquake. I didn't read about it and missed your post, I guess. Was there damage elsewhere?
-
Yay Cindy, You made it over the first hurdle......
-
Cindy,
Here's my trunk saluting you. You're one lucky girl. Your port is your passport to health. I salute you again ... with trumpets. -
Dear Cindy,
Go get this cancer. Let the chemo do its work. Be well! I am with you tomorrow when you sit in that chair. May your side effects be minimal.
Fists up! -
Cindy - WE LOVE YOU!!! You can do this and we will all be there right beside you. GO GET EM' SISTER! (((hugs)))
Well, the job saga continues... today my boss asked me if I was planning to leave, I said, Yes--I have been looking. He said we really need to sit down and talk - so we are meeting tomorrow..... I think I am going thru a mid life crisis becauses I really don't know what I want to do!
Dave & I are going to the Ocean this weekend! It has been a long time since we have been able to go on a trip together because of his leg. I am so looking forward to getting away and watching the waves - Ravdeb I will be thinking of you and your beach.
What do all of you have planned for the Holiday weekend? -
go cindy go!!! you've got us all behind you and next to you and with you and every which way you need us. you're a fighter!!!!!!!
have a good weekend, everyone! i will be at the beach with my parents (well, they live at the beach), my husband, my brother, my brother's 3 best friends, my 3 best friends, and my best friends' husbands and baby it's a party weekend...wouldn't want it any other way
love,
amy -
maryanne....did you see the post in the "moving beyond" section about you? someone had "fists up" engraved on a bracelet for her year anniversary
-
ravdeb, Amy, Victoria, Graycie & everyone,
Thanks for cheering me through this recent situation! I appreciate your concern!
My biopsy came back negative, the ultra-sound didn't detect anything bad - Very Good News, Whew...Dr. said to give it a couple of months - if it happens again, she may do an out-patient procedure called a Histeroscopy(?) - but we'll see...
------------------------------------------------
Cindy -
Great news...you're back home. Rest, take it easy - read all those books you just bought!
Tracy -
You know, sister, I am cheering you on through the job search! I'm hoping you get the one you want! You so deserve it. Have fun at the ocean this weekend.
ravdeb -
Awesome...the thyroid pills are working! That's great. If you're still tired, succomb and take a nap...we're not as young as we used to be. Today I took a 20 minute nap and felt like a new person when I awoke!
Debbie -
Thanks, across the pond! I will check out e-bayUK...
Meeshell -
My bell...hope you're having a great night!
