Adversity, if for no other reason, is of benefit, since it is sure to bring a season of sober reflection. People see clearer at such times. Storms purify the atmosphere.

    Another little gem of hypocrisy.

May be an image of text that says 'Middle Age Riot @middleageriot Marjorie Taylor Greene: Says Joe Biden has dementia. Also Marjorie Taylor Greene: Can't remember anything she said or did on January 6.'

Yes, Ms. Beckworth taught Plane Geometry (loved her and she was no nonsense from the boys) and oddly had taught at the high school since before my Dad graduated ( I graduated 25 years later). Years later I saw an article about seniors living in assisted living and there she was at the advanced age of 98 still holding her own.

DeSantis cannot afford to challenge Disney and it seems stupid to challenge someone when you don't know the details of the agreement or consequences of your threat. His constituents will be lynching him. They want to keep what is in their deep pockets and that is why they put up with him until now. Time for a Democrat to straighten out that mess.

Right now, his hissy fit won’t work. BUT. When Rick Scott was gov, he started messing with the pension fund contributions. It was in the constitution employers would pay 3% for each employee. He wanted to reduce it to 1 1/2% with employees making up the difference. He got it passed. All kinds of lawsuits state wide. Went to state Supreme Court. They upheld it. DuhSantis can do the same.

King Ricky wants to be prez, as does duhSantis.

I’m just glad I retired before they could mess with my pension.

The Loon is as nutty as he ever was. I hope no one is foolish enough to think they have to go there again to satisfy this dolt. The Loon must really be feeling the pressure to bring this one up again. As with everything else it turned up a dud fairly rapidly once investigated. Still, he has people who will go ahead and make any kind of fool of themselves if they are still looking for his blessing ( possible '22 candidates or 24' ) or need his base of voters.

I also find it interesting that it sounds just like what we have been hearing about the Loon himself more or less. How he was in on the get-go for all the plans to illegally have the election transferred to himself. I hope we have it figured out what to do to keep the same activities from taking place again in 24'.

White House Reporters Complain That Jen Psaki Is Too Good At Her Job As They Yearn For Trump

White House reporters are complaining that Biden has made covering the White House boring and Jen Psaki is too good at her job.

    Read on »

This is quite bothersome and I hope is not completely true. I do agree that the fact that Jen Psaki doesn't lie and calls people out for their lies and overall stupidity does tend to keep some of the chaos and drama at bay pretty well. I'm sorry to hear that our norms are so damaged that news people see their jobs as springboards for perhaps other lucrative deals or events. It is hard to reconcile and recognize the world of 30 or 4o yrs. ago and what is has become now. I'm sick of the Reps. and the Trumpensteins and so wish we could wipe out the Reps so they had to start over and get REAL again.

I think often of the Trumpers who are my age and who won't be around all THAT long and what the next couple of generations might think about them and the way they conducted themselves. Of course, I'm praying we still have a democracy when I'm gone, but who can say for sure.

The fact that WH reporters complain that Psaki is too boring only proves that there is no longer news, only infotainment.

The only reason Putin is detaining innocent Americans on trumped-up (pun intended) charges is as bargaining chips to get us to release corrupt Russian prisoners in exchange.

Off topic here but would appreciate any insight.

My husband, Mr M, is a maintenance man in town at a senior rental assistance apartment building with 60 residents. A woman of Asian decent (I will call her Z) keeps accusing him of being a racist. He is NOT. The problems started last year sometime for unknown reasons. She started going out of her way to create trouble for him. The police dept is next door and she has reported Mr M. to them. Mr M has gone to the police to report that she is harassing him.

The owner/company of the apt building is in Cleveland, two hours away. Mr M is currently the only employee at the apt building since the office manager quit in February. The company is having a hard time finding a replacement for her. In the meantime, a district manager has been coming from Cleveland once a week to tend to office matters. She has been extremely appreciative of Mr M keeping the building running smoothly during this time. He is the kind of maintenance man we'd all want if we lived in an apt building because he takes pride in keeping the place clean and quickly takes care of anything that needs repaired. The residents there are lucky to have him. He will be retiring early next year. They will not get a better maintenance man. I'm not shaking the pom poms because he's my husband but because he's just that good at his job.

The district manager knows all about the trouble Z was causing and had a talk with her at one point. Mr M was advised to steer clear of Z as best he can. Things calmed down until Friday.

Twice a year, Mr M has to change the batteries on all smoke detectors in the apartments. Last week he put a notice under all residents' doors that he would be doing that on Monday. But he was advised to make sure if he ever needed to go in to Z's apt that he have someone with him. Since the district manager will be there Tues., he gave Z a notice that said he would change her batteries on Tues.

So on Friday she barged into his office yelling that he was a racist because everyone in the building except her was getting their batteries changed Monday. She yelled that he needed to change hers Monday, too. She was with two women from Protective Services, something Mr M was not aware of until later, they did not identify themselves. Mr M did his best to explain why he was changing Z's batteries Tues but she cannot be reasoned with. And apparently she felt this matter deserved a call to protective services!

Afterwards, Mr M called and talked to the district manager to fill her in and reported the incident to the police. Now there's a meeting set up on Tues for her, Mr M, Z, and someone from protective services to discuss the matter.

I could not be more frustrated. My husband is simply going to work every day to do his job. The accusations are baseless. It is causing him and I stress over something that is utterly and completely fabricated. I really am uncertain how I can advise him on how to handle this to make it stop. What would you do?

Oh my goodness, that is awful. As horrible as it is, there are people who pull that kind of thing. I've had several experiences with people who 'cry wolf'; I'm not sure if they were mentally unbalanced, but for sure enjoyed the drama & discomfort they created for those around them. My suggestion is that DH DOCUMENT everything. Write down every incidence from the past, and going forward keep detailed records of any encounter what-so-ever (even if it is 'passed Ms. X in the hallway without any words being exchanged'). That way he has a record. If worse would come to worse, he could sue HER for harassment. I don't know; should he actually consult a lawyer now? Should he lay out all the incidences and say, "If this pattern of harassment continues, I will be consulting my lawyer and suing you for harassment". Do you know a lawyer or someone in law enforcement that you could just ask about the best way to proceed?

I too think it is awful what is happening to Divine's husband. To his credit he is being honest and I'm convinced that while it may feel like you are on the "losing" end of the scale being totally honest will prove out in the end. So, what to do. I think Ruth's suggestion of keeping record of EVERY encounter -- no matter how slight is imperative. The other party may be doing this.

I'm wondering -- what REAL proof has she offered up. It really sounds to me like there is none really. She has been given ( as has it sounds anyone else needing the info ) solid reasoning for what is going on and in her case, not changing batteries at the same time as everyone else. I would think it has been duly noted that no one else has made similar chgs. against you husband Divine. Surely this person of Asian decent is not the only one who is a 'different' nationality. It could warrant ( for your and your husband's peace of mind ) finding a lawyer who is not too expensive to intercede. I'm thinking that may be enough to settle this woman down. If she feels it will cost her to keep her tirade up. Then again, I do think she has some mental deficiency going on. I hope it didn't springboard from the sorts of people who disrespect the Loon and others of his ilk. I think in some of the news it is easy sometimes to "create" troubles where they don't exist and never have.

Some people don't know how to live ordinary lives, come and go and just live their best life. They need drama and chaos and some sort of recognition -- even if it's bad. I'd like to think this will be handled, but I do think in the end -- truth as well as the fact of no REAL proof will win out. It is just that you and hubby Divine have to find a way to feel some, even if only moderate, comfort during the time period before your hubby retires. This woman, who obviously tells tales to people did have others show up with her to dress down your hubby for skipping her. I'd like to know what those ladies who came with the Asian woman may have really thought -- after hearing a reasonable explanation -- and that the Asian lady WAS going to receive her due. After all -- they were with the Asian lady -- surely they would understand that your hubby needed as well a witness with him any time he was going to encounter this woman.

I sure hope you are both able to come to a solution that will work -- at least to put your hubby totally in the clear.

Now Divine, the whole episode you spoke about is just so reminiscent of what is going on with things as In the Mark Meadows, Kevin McCarthy fiascos. The Reps. are all going to go to pieces somewhat over the fact that THERE are tapes. I read on the way here, how as the media still is playing up how the Reps. are going to run right over us during mid-terms and maybe that will not be the case at all. I think it is possible that they are getting into such dis-array and we will have those hearings coming up now. I also read they may be everything that Jaime Raskin said they will be, as he would not make a statement like that if he wasn't sure the proof was definitely solidly in the pudding.

The Loon's picks are playing directly into our hands as well and the Reps seem paralyzed into having to accept the Loon and guess cross their fingers that they can over-ride him. Probably not going to happen. They all need his voters too much so they have to stand behind him to that degree. They would have been down with this clown if they had any backbone when he got impeached. We would not still have to hear his name daily almost and KNOW that he is still pulling a lot of government strings -- as long as the other side can't let go of him The big talkers got tested and lost. So here we are.

Divine - sorry your husband is going through this. Good advise to bring documentation, his supervisor, etc. Are there any letters of support from others who live in the building or people who could speak on his behalf?

Sad to hear Naomi Judd passed away. She was 76. Troubled for many, many yrs. from mental depression. I think she just wore out from it and gave up. She and Wynona, her daughter who sang with her Mom were to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday. Ashley Judd, the other sister is an actress. Very sad.

I was very sad to see that also. Mental health issues have caused or contributed to more deaths than we can begin to imagine.
