Okay, I'm happy now and convinced after seeing a number of memes that Macron triumphed over M. LaPen. I saw the first one (Occupy Democrats ) about 20 mins. after it posted. So we are okay and LaPen can go to Moscow now and hide out for awhile. I'm fairly sure this created another crimp in Putin's plans. He seems to have mental deficiencies that are much like the Loon's.

Turnout in France was pretty low, as the socialists didn't get enough votes to make it into the runoff. (Not sure if the runoff is limited to the top two, or if the #3 finisher can achieve a tally high enough to get through). Still, a lot of the left held their noses and voted for Macron despite their feelings he's too business-friendly, because a corrupt right-wing anti-environmental nativist with ties to Russia and a corporatist streak would be "un pont trop loin" ("a bridge too far," assuming France uses the same idiom we do). And a 17-point margin is nothing to sneeze at.

Some are alarmed that LePen got as much as 41% of the vote. But that's misleading--it doesn't mean that 41% of French people of voting age are nativist racists who are okay with Russia. The low turnout was largely on the left, which felt it didn't have a true liberal for whom to vote. The highly motivated voters were those on the right. Le Pen still commands less than a third of the eligible electorate as a whole.

Such a beautiful story about positive touch, Betrayal! And it's a perfect set up - consent requested and granted, boundaries established, and a fulfilling outcome for everyone. It probably gave him so much comfort.

So glad France saved themselves from another Crazy Train. England must wait until 2025 to try to give theirs the boot.

At least Boris went over to the Ukraine and is on board with getting them aid. The French lady was pro-Putin.

Jackie, loved your additional comment to please sew up the Loon’s lips, too! Haha!

The right kind of human touch means everything. Betrayal, that’s an insightful story about the man who just wanted the shoulder to shoulder connection he’d missed. The hand massage seems like such a good idea; too bad it isn’t practiced now.

We lost so much with Covid and needing to social distance.

When I was first diagnosed with bc, dh and I were sitting in a room with the surgeon’s nurse. I was all over the place with swirling emotions but keeping it contained. She was getting information and at one point she was standing beside my chair and gently put her hand on my shoulder and firmly pressed down, then moved on. She said nothing and it really wasn’t connected to anything I’d said. A simple gesture yet it grounded me in a way that I never forgot.

I once read a book by some well known doctor who said that a small percentage of people have a true healing touch. This was very much a man who believed in science, yet was also acknowledging that this sort of outlier factor, tho rare, exists.

Cardplayer, you are in the Shenandoah Valley?

There are six principles of abundant living which, when woven together,

produce a tapestry of contentment that wraps us in inner peace,
well-being, happiness, and a sense of security. First there is gratitude.
When we do a mental and spiritual inventory of all that we have, we realize
that we are very rich indeed. Gratitude gives way to simplicity--the desire
to clear out, pare down, and realize the essentials of what we need to live
truly well. Simplicity brings with it order, both internally and externally.
A sense of order in our life brings us harmony. Harmony provides us with
the inner peace we need to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us each
day, and beauty opens us to joy. But just as with any beautiful needlepoint
tapestry, it is difficult to see where one stitch ends and another begins.

Yes, I think the value of touch is much underrated and I mean touch in a healthy, relatable way. You saw how it affected you, Divine and how many more of us would have liked to have had the same experience. I do think that BC treatment can be alienating and so impersonal at times.

I'm all in favor of sewing the loon's lips shut and then perhaps shrinking his head only by removing that mass of nasty combover. Did you see the latest comments he supposedly made to the Queen about Harry/Megan and about his relationship with her. Further proof of his delusions since he disrespected her by walking in front of her, etc. I think she tolerated him for the sake of diplomacy and he most certainly did not get the same reception as the Obamas.

Forgot to mention the 'Healer's Aura'. That is rare as well, but if someone has it -- there is a highly positive and healing sensation when that person enters the room. It is like this light one feels inside that no matter what, this person helping you has all the answers you will need and you won't have to look any farther. My BS had this aura. She went on to discover a second tumor ( the one that put me into 6 mos. of chemo and weeks of radiation ) that was up to then un-known. I always envisioned someone else taking out the "visible" tumor and then just sewing me up -- but she explored to be doubly sure and surely saved my life. She denied any credit -- but the aura was there and it is something that stayed with me and it still as sharp and defined as it was even then. In fact, Dh was with me and when Dr. Ryan ( a lady ) stepped out of the room we both looked at each other and said the same thing -- healer's aura. It is a very warm and protected feeling. I had some of the same sensations with the new Cardiologist. I think these people are totally committed, heart and soul, and are that way from the first on.

Divinemrsm - I’m in Winchester, which is located in the Shenandoah Valley. We’ve been here almost 4 years, retiring here to get away from the traffic in northern Virginia area where we raised our family. I grewup in Ohio and Indiana and moved to Virginia in 1977.

I’ve been doing REIKI therapy on a weekly basis. I find it to be very relaxing, helping me to manage the stress that came along with my BC diagnosis.

Love the quote by Sarah Ban Breathnach. I've read her book and loved it.

Ruth, your meme is dead on.

Illinois lady loved your story about the healing aura and your BS. I think my PCP has it and I will look for it when I see her in May. I do know that she listens to me and suggests rather than dictates. She is also willing to discuss a compromise so it's s win-win.

If we had the money that the Texas moron spent on the border, we could feed hungry children, create a new, working electric grid for Tx, etc with achievable results that have benefit to others.

Wow, Jackie, that’s a powerful story about you and your husband making the same assessment about your doctor. It really speaks to her healing aura, a phrase that is new to me, amd I love the concept.

Cardplayer, I consider the Blue Ridge Mountains maybe the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. It really speaks to me. We drove part of Skyline Drive through Shenandoah National Forest and some of my very favorite photos of dh, ds and I were taken there. Wish I lived as close as you do to them! Virginia itself is a beautiful state.

    Ruth,

I love that meme but you know what I'm going to say…the salutation should read indoctrinating not indoctrinated 😉 I wonder if I will ever be able to turn my teacher brain off ? Since I taught K and 1st grade, I couldn't even get them to stop picking their noses

The Buddha spoke gently, "Once a person is caught by belief

in a doctrine, one loses all one's freedom. When one
becomes dogmatic, that person believes his or her doctrine
is the only truth and that all other doctrines are heresy.
Disputes and conflicts all arise from narrow views. They can
extend endlessly, wasting precious time and sometimes even
leading to war. Attachment to views is the greatest impediment
to the spiritual path. Bound to narrow views, one becomes
so entangled that it is no longer possible
to let the door of truth open."

The Loon says he doesn't want his Twitter back, even though Musk can give it to him. Wonder how long that will last ???

May be an image of one or more people, people standing and text that says 'Middle Age Riot @middleageriot FLASHBACK: The last time Donald Trump had a Twitter account. RUM -2120 TRUMP -2020- GREAT RUMY'

Just my thoughts on all the current news of over 2000 emails/texts, etc. in relation to before and after 1/6. I'm so captive of that the media wants you to swallow that I do feel quite un-sure ( It is what I've heard ) that any of the Reps. will end up paying the price for their misbehaviors where the Loon is concerned.

I would like to think the DOJ or some like entity can do something with these things. It often seems to me that the Reps. have had free rein for what they want to do which in so many cases is treasonous and is ignoring the needs of their constituents. The many should not have to go along with the few and yet that is how it has seemed to play out since the Loon. I guess I'm still impatient to have that one out of the daily news cycles which was I thought going to happen once he lost the election -- but here we still are.

I do know Loon will hang in there for the money and his ability to do his best to get even with his perceived enemies even if they are Reps.

I have trouble with the things these people like Bishop are able to routinely verbalize now. Of course, it does make it easier to identify the people who you likely think should not be able to even get within shouting distance of any local ( state or federal ) government office. We are stuck with these holier than thou and I know what is best for you types. I know what is best for guys like this too, but I would get nabbed if I did hire some guys to take him out behind the barn and instill some sense into him.

What part of living does he not understand is none of his business. I always wonder -- if many of these people got what they thought they wanted -- what in life would present to them as now not right. They all need a cause' to stand up for because otherwise, they are normal with no validity and who would then notice their profundity. Who would give them a REAL reason for being. I think they are a bit like the Loon - needing something even if they are not so sure what. I think Bishop is confused about what is in his head and why !!!

Illinoislady - Fox News, orange man and the republicans made it okay for him and others to openly display prejudices and hate again. I don’t know when they started to go quiet, but some have come back out without fear since trump walked down those golden escalator. Very disconcerting.

Just read a little more about Randy. He’sfiled to run as a democrat to confuse Democrats and he says he’s not racist. Hopefully he won’t make it out of the primary
