Plowing forward
Taking things day by day after hubby got the covid dx. Pcp gave me some preventatives and I made all the phonecalls to reschedule everything. So now we have a start date as long as I remain clear of covid. I am to start taking the xeloda Wednesday and Rads to start the 31st. The RO felt certain that 10 treatments would greatly reduce the pain in my back. I was impressed that he said judging by the images your pain should be about here... Like a bullseye he was right on the money. I really like him and it's a testament to his office that most of the same people are still there from 13 years ago. The insurance only approved the lower dosage of the xeloda so I have to take a lot of them to get the dosage.. It makes no sense.
I told my 08 girls that between this small community I live in and the BC sisters far and wide I feel the prayers. I am beginning to calm down greatly and while not happy, it is a plan and my time will be focused on getting my calendar organized.
Love to all

All things at a halt. Covid has hit the whole household.

Bettysgirl, I am so sorry that everyone has Covid. I hope that you all have mild cases and recover quickly

We are doing ok. I' pretty wheezy but hanging in there. Oncologist wants to wait 10 days to start chemo pills and first rad treatment on the 7th as long as I don't have any complications.
Doctor has me on so many meds and is trying to get me in to do the monoclonal antibodies but says the wait list is extremely long. I am hoping I will be better by then.
Thanks for thinking of me.

Bettysgirl,
Hoping for continued improvement with Covid19 and your family too.

Bettysgirl, I'm so sorry for your mets AND the COVID hit on you and your family. I'm hoping you feel better very soon. I wanted to share that the rads (13 sessions total) really helped reduce the pain in my hip. I hope you're able to get rads and that it helps with your pain.

@Sunshine99 thank you. The Rad oncologist said he was sure with the 10 txs he could greatly reduce my pain and help with the mobility. The funny thing is that being on steroids for covid, the pain is much less. It may come back with a vengeance after my last pill but it's been a nice break.
Sweet hubby has been building a ramp outside because I was having trouble with 1 step that was high. He's a little OCD and I think I could gain 1000 pounds or possibly drive a small car up it😂 it's kept him occupied while in quarantine. Just been expensive to get lumber from local business that's the only one in town. Little by little we are all improving. I've been a little winded today but trying to keep moving and keeping watch on O2 SATs. I have COPD and congestive HF so to have weathered this far is a God thing!

Got the call today from the genetic testing. (Exactly as I figured! ) All normal or negative. (Just like my daughter's test🤦)

bettysgirl,
The vast majority of breasts cancers have no known genetic component. Those who do are in the minority. My paternal grandmother had breast cancer and my sister had a uterine sarcoma. We are also Ashkenazi Jews, who have a higher incidence of BRCA than the general population. I had BRCA testing years ago and then the Ambry panel. The results? Negative for all known mutations. There could be mutations out there that just haven’t been discovered yet.

Ended up in hospital with Covid pnemonia. God has been a proving his ability to hold me up. All treatments on hold for now. We are working on weaning the oxygen back down and the doctor is pleased at the progress I have made. Initially I had said God was going to show up and show out and maybe spare me from the Covid but that wasn't to be. His plan was to show up and show out that he has me in his hands and is working a healing in my body that can only be from a God who loves me.

wow bettysgirl, sorry you're going through this. covid so serious. Is yours a vaccine breakthrough case?
-
Nope I haven't had the jab. Was going to do j&j till they talked about clots and with my history of DVT I put a pause on it. We had the family get together at the lake and my niece is school teacher. Came from her. The infectious doctor asked me if I knew how I got it and I was honest. My brother is 70 y/o and we had put off this for 2 years for covid. I guess we were spreaders. I'm the only one ended up in hospital. But neice has been very sick as well. If the people that tested positive, all vaccines were included. I told the doctor as bad as it was we aren't getting younger, I've been dx'd terminal and not knowing what prognosis is for me, I couldn't stop loving for this virus forever. He agreed that you can't stop loving because of this virus. He has encouraged me to get the shot afterwards and we will see which one I chose. I'm pretty sure it will be J&J. I'm not doing moderna and Pfizer has the deepest pockets of the group. But I've got some time to think about it
