STEAM ROOM FOR ANGER

Many of the unvaccinated young adults will get their shots if mandated for work or to gain access to concerts/bars.
-
My son had to show proof of vaccinations to travel 25 years ago. My kids had to show vaccine record to be registered for school many years ago. Sad that recommendations from those who have the education on the matter isn't enough that things like this have to be mandated.
-
“When they die, some of their families convert. It's terrible that people won't change their minds unless personally affected."
Google Phil Valentine, a conservative talk radio host in Tennessee. Pay particular attention to what his family is saying now about Covid19 vaccines. He died from Covid19 yesterday.
-
wrenn - We still would have smallpox and polio here if people rejected vaccines then like they're doing now.
exbrnxgrl - Here's the info on the unvaccinated anti-vaxxer influencer who died of COVID after a month in the hospital. He never made it back on the radio to promote the vaccine that he ridiculed before being hospitalized.
Please get vaccinated.
-
It’s a real shame that far too many people have been endangered by his idiocy. I feel bad for his loved ones but have not an iota of sympathy for him.
Fun fact: I was one of the last hundred people or so in the US to receive a smallpox vaccine before it was declared eradicated world wide. The Peace Corps required it and we got our vaccines at the CDC in Atlanta. There were so many people who bore the scars of smallpox in Afghanistan and theywere more horrendous than most of us could imagine. They were the lucky ones. They survived.

San Francisco is requiring proof of vaccination for all indoor activities. Hope it spreads
My daughter went to an outdoor event in LA - proof of vaccines required and people were happy to do itand happy it was required.
-
Vaccine and negative test requirements help reduce transmission. 👍 Rapid test availability would be an improvement.
Went to the cancer centre today. I saw only one person not wearing a mask properly, and it was one of the clerks! He had it hanging off one ear. He sits behind plexiglass, but that doesn't stop the airborne virus especially when the plexiglass is open at the top and sides. I mentioned it to my new bud Anne, the charge nurse. Guess it's been a problem with this guy. Instead of waiting in the waiting room, I waited outside.
Saw the Pfizer vaccine has FDA ful approval, but who approved the name?
-
We need vaccine and mask mandates! And better education.
-
I thought the sun revolving around the Earth % would match the non-vaxxed %.

Aren't Monday's after vacation the worst? Ugh. Almost over. My daughter turned 35 today. We went to NY for a few days last week. Saw a concert in the rain and found this gem of a park on Lake Ontario. Came home to a mess of grass everywhere so my son re-mowed and I used the blower. What the heck was the LL thinking? I took a pic of that mess too so next time he wants a rent increase I will tell him to hire a professional crew to mow--then at least I would feel I getting something for the money instead of paying AND having to do it myself! Then, off to the mailbox I go. The test orders were in there. I hate tests. I called this morning and got them scheduled. Not going to worry about it until then. Sept. 8th. Still a little upset this isn't going as planned. Better to check and know, I know, but I really rather just not.
-
Wow. What a gorgeous place.
-
Serenity, I absolutely can't believe that the clerk was allowed to wear his mask incorrectly. In a cancer center full of immunocompromised patients. I would have reported it to a supervisor. Not saying that you should have. Unbelievable.
-
The last time I saw my PCP in June, there was a guy checking in with no mask. I had to bite my own mask not to scream "Give him a fvck!ng mask!" You know they've got a supply of them. Then he sat down in the regular waiting area, which is no longer marked off for distancing. Grrr.
-
nopink - It's close, isn't it? We can't count on people who get basic science facts wrong to follow the science to beat the pandemic. At this point, if you're an anti-vaxxer/anti-masker, then you're anti-science. Time for mandates.
Cowgirl - Unbelievable is right! I did tell the oncology charge nurse. He should listen to her. I go back in 4 weeks. If it's still a problem, I'll check who else I need to notify. I need to be diplomatic. He handles scheduling of appointments.
Alice - 🤬 That's frustrating.
-
It was just announced that BC will have vaccine certificates/passport and anyone who hasn't had 2 doses will not be allowed into many indoor venues. Restaurants (even patios), sports events, theatres, weddings, gyms and other indoor places. There will be no religious exemptions. If you are unable to be vaccinated you are unable to attend indoor events. It is a govt. mandate so they will follow up. It is in effect until at least January. Rumour is that there will also be a mask mandate for schools to be announced this week. :-)
-
ctmbsikia - I was in Sterling NY area last July and we went to Lake Ontario and I absolutely loved it. It was so pretty and looked like an ocean. Your picture is great!
-
Erie county in N.Y. is making masks mandatory in all schools this year. Let the lawsuits begin! There are already signs on lawns saying "unmask our children". Come on already!! Idk how much more people need to hear/see to understand that we need to take whatever steps we can to help stop this virus. My niece and her husband (not vaccinated) contracted covid at a wedding last week. Stupid, stupid.
AliceB, you are spot on in regards to that asshole that thankfully is not in office anymore.
-
Beautiful picture! What a pretty place! So glad you got to spend time there with your daughter.
-
ctmb, where about was this on the lake? we live an hour or so from there. Olcott beach. I realize it's a big lake so maybe u weren't anywhere near there. We spent a week at Welesley Island a few weeks ago. But that's the St.Lawerence
-
wrenn: I just posted elsewhere about the vaccine mandates. About time. I am so sick of anti-vaxxers. The "hesitant' are just going to have to get over it and roll up their sleeves. I would like to see a mask mandate back on public transit, vaccinated or not. Especially not!!
ctmbsikia: What a fabulous picture. I doesn't even look real. It looks like a totally cool painting.

Just poking around online. USA facts states for the flu season of 2017-2018 61,000 people died of the flu. I think this is about average for most years. Per John Hopkins as of today 629,384 have died of covid in the US. I started writing down the stats in April of 2020. At that time 12901 people had died of covid. I guess it's morbid but I'm keeping track of the data. I hate when people say it's no worse than the flu. A "friend" of my husbands said that the drug for worms in animals is a cure/preventative. I see now people are being poisoned by it. I'm sick of ignorant people thinking this is nothing, blah, blah.
-
Elderberry, I agree regarding masks. I am hoping for an indoor mask mandate soon. I hear they will be mandated for schools sofingers crossed.
-
interesting post by a doctor in LA who said patients used the excuse that the vaccine only had an emergency use approval and they didn’t want the government experimenting on them- but , when they got sick they took all sorts of drugs- not approved or also with an emergency use approval. She asked a sick patient if he wanted the monoclonal antibodies since they are also only emergency approved- he said “doc- save my life!” ( he had already tried hydroxychloroquine from the internet.)
-
Saw breast cancer PA today. I wanted to get her thoughts on the different Al's. What a waste of time. Talk to the onco office she said. UGH! And of course see you in 6 mons.
-
wrenn; Even after the mandatory masks mandate was lifted everyone in my neighbourhood still wore masks inside shops. Some walked on the side streets off the shopping area, mask in hand, but put them on once they hit the "high street" Lots of ma and pa shops have "Please wear a mask" etc.
Masks in schools for sure!
-
In my building you would think the pandemic ended when masks were simply highly recommended. I was surprised to find out how many people are not thinking about what is going on but just obeying laws. In shops I think many are still wearing masks and seeing masks on chins is more irritating than no mask.
-
KID1919 there is a lot of information and a whole PDF thing you can download on side effects on hormonal treatments in the main site in case you did not remember. It was helpful to me I know I trust them with the information they provide here at least.
-
@KID1919 We were over in Central NY. Syracuse one night, then drove up to Oswego on the Lake. Parks were Chimney Bluffs State Park in Wolcott and Fair Haven Beach State Park in Fair Haven.
-
wrenn: heard on CBC radio this a.m. that masks are back to being mandatory in public places and transit until the vaccine passport stuff is in full effect. Yay! Yeah, a nose poking over the top of the mask or the mask just on the chin makes me crazy in the head.
-
Elderberry, I was very excited to hear that report. I am feeling more hopeful about the fall. It will be interesting to see how compliance is this time. :-)
