Astaxanthin
Hi all ...anyone taking this? I did for a month when I took Xeloda but I think I am going to start again and continue... here is a study showing effectivness against breast cancer...if anyone has any info on if it would interfere with certain meds let me know. I know, since it is like an EXTREMELY powerful antioxidant it should not be taken with TAXANE chemos....

Suggests interference with cytochrome enzymes, which might alter drug metabolism. Also suggests interference with 5A reductase, which converts testosterone into DHT. DHT is a hormone that suppresses breast development. I am not sure how this might affect breast cancer. Possibly adversely.
I know this goes against the study you cite, but remember that work is in vitro, not in a human or even an animal
