Elliott again
-
BLMike - your Sheila is beautiful! And so helpful with the household dieting rules haha
FF wonderful photos of Elliot and Alannah - gorgeous kitties both. Love the stretchy kitty
-
BLMike, Sheila looks so soft and cuddly.
ff, Elliott is looking regal. Alannah can stretch. Midnight Louie used to look like he was 3' long and 2" wide.
-
Lovely cat photos, everyone. Thanks!

How true and multiply it times 3 (number of cats who own me). One more would be: the dog bed is mine by right of first dibs and right of occupancy. Poor dog has to curl up in much smaller cat bed!
-
So true. Felix is looking at my just now. It is the look "you know I want something, so get off the computer and do it." Now she is walking in to stare at cat daddy since I am not moving fast enough.
-
Aw Petite that sad look in the photo. Did you not feed Miss Felix on time...She is a beauty.
-
Spookie soooo true.
-
Can you find baby girl cat among the clean sheets?

Cute picture, Together!
It’s been a long time since I posted on this thread but I visit occasionally. I want to share this picture my dd took of her cat. dd’s neighbor couldn’t take care of Bella anymore and dd agreed to keep her. Bella is obese due to neglect and dd is helping her get healthy. I think this is the coolest picture.
-
Looks like she's the perfect weight for her height which is very very tall. At least in the shadow. I recognize that well rounded look from my own cat.
-
TogethertoLearn: Nope, she must be well-hidden.
Wonderland: Poor Bella. At least her shadow is skinny! Nice that your DD took her in.
-
This is Bella last October when dd took her in. She was so scared then but not anymore! She’s losing weight and letting her personality shine.
-
Oh wow, she's made real progress!
Here's my lap right this second, this is Stevie.
-
Bella made great improvement. Do love the cool picture.
Stevie is so cute.
Together, nothing better than clean sheets.
-
Bella was truly enormous when your DD took her in. She is probably a lot more comfortable now. Getting a really heavy cat to lose weight healthily is a real task. Good for your DD to take it on. I'll bet she was over 20lbs in the beginning.
-
Stevie is so cute, edj! Those eyes!
Wren: Bella was almost 20 pounds in that picture. She is slowly losing weight mainly due to diet. She has arthritis and joint problems making movement painful. She can't even jump on the couch.
But Bella is getting all the love and attention that she craves and deserves!
-
Wonderland kuddos to your DD for taking that cool photo and definitely for taking care of Bella!
Edj - Stevie is stunning for sure
Together if there is one piece of clean laundry laid down in my house someone is on it haha
-
Wow great pictures ladies. Love the camoflage cat Togetherwelearn. Gorgeous picture of the bowling ball cat with her bowling pin shadow Wonderland. How great that your daughter was there to step in and love and care for that beautiful cat. And Stevie is gorgeous Edj. I hope Wally is doing ok.

Mr. Squeakers was named for his little squeaks instead of meows. In the last couple of weeks, he has started meowing a lot. It's interspersed with vocalizations that sound like he's trying to talk. I'm trying to get a video while he's doing it but he doesn't like to be photographed. He sounds like a kitty version of a Basenji (we fostered a 1/2 Basenji dog for the shelter). I'm going to mention it to the vet to see if they think it's significant. I tried making similar sounds and he replied.
-
Wren, Miss Felix didn't meow for years and she started a while back. Plus she likes to "sing" in the middle of the night. That's when she started on cat drugs. Her latest strange behavior is sitting in a puddle on the lanai. We have a low spot in one corner.
-
Never fails come nice weather, this little community cat loves to sleep in my pots. I’ve been feeding her for six or seven years now. Can you tell the birds come to finish what she doesn’t finish
-
how nice to have bonus community cats to enjoy !
-
KathinDC where did you get the kitty cat seeds? hahaha
That is too cute
-
kathindc, Great photo
-
I love it.

Wren this is not an answer to your concern about Squeakers and you are right to mention it to the vet to be sure that there is not a medical issue.
What you said just reminded me DH bought me this book at Christmas
While very interesting it is not a quick and easy read. The author was a speech expert so even though it's written for the layperson its still quite scientific. She is a professor from Sweden who began research, applying phonetic methods, into cat vocalisations. She has 5 cats, that's what led her to this interest. One thing her research demonstrated was that cats will modify their vocalisations and can imitate their owners voices and develop private languages with them.
