The other day we went to the Saint Padre Pio Shrine in Landisville, NJ. Here are a few pictures. The sign says '274 Miracles on Record'.
-
Oh how wonderful JACK5IE. Thanks for the photos. It is wonderful to make time and space for pilgrimage to a shrine.
A friend of a friend, Fr. Bill Mauric (originally from Michigan) is a PP in Brazil. He is in ICU with Covid (in Sao Paolo), I meet some friends for prayer via Zoom each Wed and we have been praying for him. Thanks be to God is has shown some signs of improvement and there is hope. His family woiuld be very grateful for continued prayers.
-
Will do, feline.
-
Father Bill will be in my thoughts and prayers.
-
Thank you

I would like to share with you the absolutely wonderful news that Fr. Bill is no longer critical, he is in all ways improving. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that prayer as well as medicine has had a huge effect. Here is a copy and paste of the news I have received:
"The news is very good! We got an audio from a nurse in ICU.
Bill is fully conscious and he responds with gestures. He's stable and they take him on and off the ventilation. They are going to put him sitting in a chair for awhile and they hope to move him out of intensive in two or three days!!
All I can say is that it must have been all the prayers. I can hardly believe it, the news is so good! Thank the good Lord!"

That is so wonderful for all of you!
Beginning on the Sunday after Easter, no limit on # of people in our church, and no reservations! But masks still required.
-
Great news MC!
-
So happy for Father Bill!

We are still in Lockdown in Ireland and exactly like last year's Lent we've been encouraged to put our palm greenery (which is usually bits of fir tree here) on the front door from today and for Holy Week as a sign of our faith. Exactly like last year we made one for our door and one for our next door neighbour who is a retiree so not as active. It would be lovely to continue this new tradition in Ireland even when we are able to have a normal Holy week again in future years.
-
that's a lovely idea FF.
It looks great and is a lovely reminder that renewal and new life is on the way.

Happy Easter. CHRIST IS RISEN!
-
Since Churches are closed (second Easter we have had churches closed) DH proposed going to have a Son - Rise sunrise. We live on the east coast of Ireland so not hard to find the sunrise! That's my back (taken by DS) in the second photo.
-
It was lovely, sunrise was at 6.50. There were a few other people there as it's a great view point about 15 mins walk from home. We will have online mass later this morning.
-
Happy Easter, everyone! I went to the early Mass this morning (7:00 am), and it was a beautiful service. I even enjoyed the Associate Pastor's sermon (he has a tendency to ramble a bit). Our music director's voice is a gift from God. It adds so much to the celebration of the Mass.
-
I put in a reservation for Saturday vigil mass-- but it was the wrong Saturday. I went to church, said a Rosary and listened to a Bible study. I looked for Mass times on my phone, and realized my mistake. I decided to err on the side of faith rather than law. I am leaving for Mass now-- gate crasher. When I get back I will change my clothes and go out and work in my garden. Happy Easter to all!

Sadly Fr. Bill had became very unwell again a few days ago. His kidneys failed (post Covid). I've just heard from a long-time friend of his that he has today gone home to God. May he be in Paradise today and may God comfort his grieving family.
-
I'm so sorry feelingfeline.
Rest in peace Father Bill.
-
I am so sorry, feline. Prayers for you and your parish. Safe to assume that he has gone home.
-
What awful news. Prayers for all who knew him.
-
