It is catching on. Our national Marian Shrine, Knock Basillica, put this photo from their outdoor Crib on social media yesterday.
-
LOL Cats will find any place that is warm and cozy. We have a stray cat in our neighborhood, I think it has found a cozy place in a neighbor's storage-porch. I called the local shelter, and they said that there are feral cats in town. and the best they can do for them is trap and spay or neuter. I don't know what it will do when we have a sub-zero stretch.
I have a book on the Marian appearances. I never knew about Knock. I was most impressed with Banneux.
"A Woman Clothed with the Sun" is the title. I got it through an Amazon secondhand seller.

feelingfeline--love the kitty in the manger at Knock. I have holy water from Knock. A lovely little old Irish nun here in the States gave it to me when I was diagnosed. She still has relatives in Ireland she visits and they always go to the Knock shrine when she goes home to Ireland. I would love to make it to Knock sometime to visit. MCBaker I am reading a book right now on the apparitions of San Nicolas. They are all amazing stories aren't they?
-
Yes, they are. I was skeptical of La Salette, mostly because the witnesses were not saintly, but who knows?
Amazement and disbelief are so similar, yet so different.
Banneux was in 1933, the most recent in my book. San Nicolas does look interesting. There was one close to where I live, but it was justifiably suppressed.

Went to see the film "Love and Mercy - Faustina" last night, which was the last night of cinema showings in Ireland, and the first night I could make it.
Happy to report that the run was actually extended to last night due to demand.
It was a beautiful film with much that was very moving, in fact I wept through several portions of the film, which I completely was NOT expecting. Lovely balance between people today and the historic story, which is not really very old. Lots that I didn't know, particularly about the role of her priest confessor Blessed Fr. Michael Sopocko. He was afraid at first, understandably, and then as he came to know her he realised that she was truly the holy recipient of grace and prophecy. One of the moving things was the great love of a nun in Vilnius in present day, speaking about the love of God, and the other thing I found very moving was message shown by the lives of St. Faustina and Bl. Fr Michael Sopocko that so many people die with their work seemingly incomplete, even seeming in ruins, and yet it goes on to bear great fruit. XXX

Merry Christmas, all! My daughter and I went to Midnight Mass. It was a beautiful service, and I loved my reading from Isaiah.
-
merry Christmas, may GOD continue to bless you all and stand beside us during our journey and carry us when necessary. 🙏❤️

Wishing all a blessed and peaceful Christmas.
Our family crib. Room for all at the manger.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! May the Lord bless you with all you need and with a little of what you desire this year. :-)
-
Merry Christmas! I do a Nativity Scene at work each year with different themes.
-- each year we have in-house "holiday" day-long party where the place is all decorated with different themes (this year was Wizard of Oz) with all day eating & White Elephant, etc
Here is the view from my station. Yes, Ty beanie kids for Mary & Joseph.

I wanted to see that movie but did not have a chance. If you ever have a chance
the Diary of St Faustina is great to read. The Divine Mercy chaplet is on every day on EWTN in the states and I'm sure in Ireland too.

please pray for my friend, for good employment. He was the organist at our church & got "let go" after 18 years of service by the new (2yrs) pastor -- my friend's not the first one, probably not the last. (office staffs, janitor staff, volunteered programs, retired priest... I mean monsignor
Some of us were getting close to "dump him in the baptismal font" a.k.a. going to RCIA. but now ... I don't know.
-
That is sad. I definitely will pray for him. I know churches have the right to prefer to employ people of the same denomination, but that does not mean it is always right to do so.
-
So sorry to hear about your friend losing a job he was happily employed at. Having had the door shut in his face I pray that the Lord will open up lots of windows and that he may be given the grace to see just the right one at the right moment. XXX
