Tanya, congrats on your weight loss. I've lost 20 lbs., mostly Piqray related, but now on Verzenio my appetite's back and I'm stuck. Think I'll try your intermittent fasting for more loss. Sounds doable.

My attitude towards my adult kids is totally different - I pretty much ignore everything I'm honestly so glad to have them here that I do not care about the messes, the chaos, the piles of dirty clothes. We all do crafts & hobbies & we're 4 people + animals crammed into a pretty small space. I got used to having this mess during homeschooling them now I just barely notice anything. But then I also don't think of this as my house. It's our house - which I guess is a subtle difference in perception but it's been one that impacted our parenting since the beginning.

For ds, once in a while I stick my arm in with a spritzer of odor neutralizer and mist the air and then close the door - because holy cow young dudes are smelly lol. Ds does a lot of weird experiments too so for us there's more of 'have the fire extinguisher on hand' and 'wear eye protection!' advice. My ds doesn't clean his room. He doesn't do laundry regularly. He leaves incredible messes behind him. As long as he's happy, I'm happy.

I'm just back from my chemo treatment. It's also day 2 of 50mg of prednisone. I thought I'd be eating all the cupboards bare but instead I'm a bit queasy which it turns out is a SE of large steroid doses. I'm eating lots of little things and so far it's been ok. Going to take a walk with Olive now.

oh I'd hate to be stuck in the middle of that. I know I wouldn't push at all and would just be ah, hey everybody get over it and be calm. Skout's Honor Odor Remover (blue label) is da bomb, btw. It's unscented so it doesn't cover up anything, just gets rid of smells. Doesn't work instantly, takes about 30 min but it's very effective

moth - yes, with kids growing up it was 'our' house, and everyone was expected to pitch in and reap the benefits. Our house has never been immaculate. The kids had very trivial 'chores' until adding laundry in high school. However, when returning to the nest after military and college, (all) they needed to look after was their own messes and not expect maid service, plus show common courtesy. We did not have not terribly high standards for their rooms, but yeah, if I could smell it in the living room that was too much - and no food messes to attract bugs! (Florida) Pretty basic stuff. To each his own.

It seems like the week before scanning drags. The time the second you're done. Flys. Waiting to scan sucks. Just rather get it over with. Luckily I only have a five minute drive to the hospital. I can come right home.

I’m not sure the “cute” factor can be any higher. That puppy is SO adorable. Give a squeeze from Aunt Laurie!

Moth,

I am now on 40 mgs. of Prednisone for my Sarcoidosis flare up. So I am with you on how jittery you can get on this crap.

Mel, you are not eating enough. I hope you were joking when you said a cup of coffee for the whole day and then dinner. Did I misunderstand?

I am awaiting for the arrival of DH. He comes home today from rehab. Will see how things go. I really want to make my marriage work, but alcohol is not coming back into our house. It’s either that or me. So still on the fence about moving back to PA. Time will tell. I’m truly hoping we are on a good path to wellness.

Laurie - oh boy. I'm hoping the best for you & your dh. Is there an al-anon for you to go to? I wish you didn't have this on your plate.

BooBoo~actually I wasn’t joking. My body isn’t hungry. The thought of eating makes me sick. Ibrance makes my mouth very sore on my weeks on. So it’s hard for me to enjoy anything to eat. I’ve tried all the mouthwashes and yogurts and doctor ordered stuff. It just doesn’t help. I’ve always been this way though. Small lunch. Then dinner. Before cancer. Now I’m just not hungry and I cannot taste it to enjoy anything. My mouth always burns. It’s not enjoyable. Most days I don’t even get hungry. I could go days without eating and it wouldn’t even phase me. I’ve mentioned it to my doctor. He said I should try to eat, but when my body is hungry I will eat. He didn’t seem overally worried because my blood work is always spot on. Ruined taste buds from heavy chemo...... just like neuropathy of the tongue. I guess you could say.

Candy~ my goodness! I hope you’re doing better I cannot believe you had such side effects. It makes someone not want to even get the shot. I’m sending you a hug. I hope you’re feeling better and I am sorry you had that happen.

Candy - feel better soon! I think I will take an antiemetic on the morning of second jab as had to take one after the first.

Mel - recent experience has me empathising with you re the eating, cooking etc. On the new drug (xeloda) the smell just puts me off and feel sick at the thought of food. My DH feeds me home made soup, in a small mug, which helps as does figuring out the time of day best to eat!

I got the Moderna vaccine Tuesday in the afternnon. I am in my last week of my Ibrance cycle before I get the week off and I definitely had fatique, fever, chills, swollen lymph nodes, achy arm, and a mild head ache. I came home from work the next night and was in bed by 8:30. My husband had to put extra blankets on me as I couldn't get warm. They say the second dose is worse but I will be glad to have it behind me as I have been working and trying to isolate as much as I can.

Reading through a lot of the posts, it looks like a fair amount in our group are a little down. Hopefully, things will improve.

I started acupuncture for my back and sciatica issues. Too early to tell but hopefully, it will alleviate the pain. The doctor said he would address the neuropathy in both my feet as well.

Tanya I am sorry your week is full of suckitude, that is definitely an apt description for me. Was very tired today but did manage to get some walking in. Went to a local food place that has really good frozen food section, steps above a grocery store and got some frozen, pre seasoned burgers to cook up in my Breville. Much less expensive than the burger place. Will be nice to either chop it up after cooking it and add to some beans for additional protein with beans, we will see. I still have taco seasoning to use and I will see. I did wind up taking the bus part of the way which was good to do. Still had to walk approx 15 mins but it got me closer to home. Sidewalks are now freezing and thawing so parts of them are slippery. I usually walk on the road. Was nice and sunny though.

Goldens, I would even want to hug that cute little dog and I am a cat person at heart. Very cute.

Missed so many other posts, just hoping weeks are improving, Candy I am glad you are on the road to recovery. Side effects are so hard to predict. On a lot of these vaccines I hear there may be sickness for a couple of days as the body fights the invader. That was an appropriate analogy.
