Wednesday Weigh In

Down 2lbs this week, which takes me back to where I was 2 weeks ago. I’m OK with that. I would prefer to lose weight, but if I can’t manage that, not gaining it is a good start!
-
Down .4 of a pound. My taste has come back so now it will be harder to loss weight!
-
Glad you have recovered, Ruthbru.
-
Up 2...can I lose 10 lbs before I see my surgeon in two weeks?
Oh...that is for my 2 year post follow up...no new events planned here. TT
-
Back down to last week after a little feasting over the holiday. Good thing we don't report on Fridays.
-
I was down 3 at 1 point this week but down just1 today. Going in the right direction - mostly. constant struggle but the struggle is the thing. I’ll never give up - if I did I reckon I would put on about 30 lbs in a year and I would feel much worse. I tell myself I am enjoying the struggle.
-
I'm pretty excited because I'm down 2 more pounds without counting calories! What I have been doing is eating a very light breakfast (opposed to my usual which is not eating breakfast at all), a light lunch with no snacking in the afternoon, and for dinner I take about 2/3 of a regular serving and since I like to go back for seconds, I dish up the 1/3 as my 'seconds' so I trick myself into eating one serving. If I have a snack at night it's a piece of fruit, a fruit cup and/or some hot apple cider.
-
down .5 ....yes ScotBird the struggle continues...TT
-
Up .5. Chocolate may have been involved.
-
Down 4.5 lbs this week, I have been experimenting with alternate day fasting, and this week I did two two day fasts, In other words I only ate on 2 days out of the last 7. That certainly works if you want to lose weight. Surprisingly easy to do! I'm preparing myself for much feasting over Christmas
-
Argh, up one pound. Too many cookies!
-
I cannot fast. I have Type 2 diabetes and feel really weak when I miss a regular meal. However, I MUST get serious about losing some weight added to already weighing too much. The number on the scale is frightening. It will take meal planning and wise food shopping.
Wish me some "stick-to-ive-ness."
-
up 3 since last week...I again 4.5 from one day to the next Sun/Mon and have been fighting it off ever since.
-
Carole, My DD has had good luck limiting her carb intake. She has also tested after eating certain foods to see what they do to her blood sugar. Sometimes it's pretty surprising.
-
Glad you are back on the saddle from Covid, Ruth!
I will just pretend everything tastes awful, particularly those cookies. Yech! Actually since there are no parties to go to I have been pretty steady with the weight.
-
Up 0.5lbs this week, despite fasting on 3 days. Carole I am wishing you stick-to-it-iveness. I am no diabetic but fasting does make me really bad tempered at times and I also struggle with concentration. Apart from the cross moods I much prefer my slimmed down self and feel so much better and more “me” when I don’t have so much excess baggage. My clothes feel more comfortable too. So I am setting myself the goal of sticking with alternate day fasting (which I started 6 weeks ago) until at least mid-March (my birthday). And I will try to do a longer fast of 2 days at least once each month. And I will also aim to take some proper exercise every single day. Early New Year resolutions. Wishing everyone here a wonderful Christmas and I for one am looking forward to no food restrictions at all and lots of feasting for one day only.
-
Down 3 this week, but as I was up 3 last week, that puts me the same as two weeks ago...at least that is a better position to be in as we approach Christmas...which will be a very scaled down holiday for us this year. Blessings to all. TT
-
Up another pound. I have done zero baking but people keep sending or bringing us goodies and/or meat/cheese trays!
-
Down 1 from last Thursday. It was too high then and borderline now. We aren't planning much in the way of a feast.
ScotBird, Try to up your fluid intake on fasting days and see if that helps.
-
Thanks for the tip Wren - drinking more water has definitely helped. Still, I’m up 2lbs this week - not surprised as I feasted a lot over Christmas. I’m down 15lbs since summer, and have managed to keep the weight off. I still want to lose 10lbs more, so Iwill keep going with alternate day fasting, as it seems to work for me. I have started weightlifting, which should help too. Happy New Year to everyone here!
-
Up 1.5 since last week...but down 3 from the full Christmas bounce! Happy New Year...to fresh starts!
-
Up 1 from last week. I've just been a lot hungrier. I'll get in some exercise tomorrow. Today is pouring rain.
-
Down 1.5lbs since last week. Cold weather and icy conditions combined with lock down “stay at home” message are making it difficult to exercise but I am doing weight lifting on alternate days and doing some dog walks. I’m also increasing my fasting days as alternate days does not seem to have reduced my weight over the last 2 months although it has kept it stable, I am fluctuating in a range. I want to lose 10lbs over the next 3 months so I’m going to add longer fasts, which I’ve already started doing. I’m going to fast for 2 days, and will have a light dinner on the second day, before feasting on the third day. I’m also going to try to reduce my feasting a little bit, as I do seem to over compensate. I am wishing that everyone is safe and well and looking forward to vaccinations and getting back to a more normal life laterthis year. X
-
I am committing to get back on track starting right now!
-
Down .5
I gained 11 pounds last year...they have to go!
-
unbelievably I am exactly the same weight this week as I was last week, despite fasting on on Thursday, Friday, sunday and Monday! I will persevere with my plan to fast for 2 days out of three, because surely I must lose weight on this regime. I will report back next week. I have not been exercising enough, so will definitely try to do more of that too. TrmTab 11lbs is the exact amount I want to lose too!
-
I stayed the same as last week after fluctuating in the interval.
-
I am down 1.5lbs this week. I am “fasting” two days and then eating whatever I like every third day. I am finding it quite easy to stick to. On the fasting days I am eating apples an occasional light dinner and a glass of wine at 8pm., so only seni-fast
-
Still the same.
-
Down 1 since last week, but still up a bit from New Years...
ScotBird, I used to fast as a late aged teenager, which doubled as an excuse to not have to attend family dinner...now, I can't imagine not being at the dinner table for family time even when it is just DH and myself at the end of our work days. Good for you to be able to pull that off. TT
