Anyone had saline leak outside of your vein?

Had scans this morning.. after the IV contrast, the saline leaked into my arm. Nurse said it was definitely saline and not contrast. She said my body will absorb.
Has anyone had this happen? She gave me an ice pack and said to massage it and drink extra water today.

Happened to my DD when she was a baby in hospital for 20 days. Side of her face swelled up, her body absorbed it, no problem.

thanks, ladies. I feel more at ease knowing it’s not that uncommon. Guess I’ve just been lucky so far. Sure does hurt though. 😕

I've had that happen twice. It should be okay, and your body will reabsorb the fluid. I got a nasty looking bruise both times, but I didn't have any other problems. I hope you feel better soon - it's tough getting poked and prodded all the time.
