Mara- Happy Birthday !!!!!!!!!!
Got a call from PCP last night-- mammogram all good. Thought it would be. Now hoping CT and MRI next month is good.
I am going to be offline in a bit for maybe 2 days. I need to take my computer to be fixed and I do not have a Smart Phone or any other way to get online. They said may take up to 2 days. Maybe not that long. Will miss you guys. I have a book to read and I will watch more TV since I cannot get online. Wow, I think I am hooked to my computer. Never thought that would happen. I will have a lot of catching up to do when I can log back on. Just wanted you to know so you know I am ok and will be back soon.
-
thanks for letting us know. We would have been concerned about you. Hope it’s done fast for you!

Happy Birthday, Mara! May you have many more.
Today is Veteran's Day here in the US. It is our day to remember and honor all our veterans of all our wars, very similar to Remembrance Day in Canada, UK, Australia, etc. Both my mother and dad were veterans of WWII and today I think of how very brave they were as very young adults. I am humbled.

what an awesome likeness of you Mae!!!!! Awesome find. hope your day is going good Mara birthday girl !

Well, we’ve arrived in El Paso and got a room. We meet my secondary (localish, 3 hrs from the cabin) oncologist tomorrow morning. This is where I plan to get my Herceptin every 3 weeks but I’ll still go back to Houston every 3 months for scans and follow up. For now it’s laundry and relaxing.
We pick up a new fridge on our way out of town, the cabin one is old and freezing everything not in the freezer, ugh.
-
I am back online. Computer back home. Maybe I misunderstood. Thought they said 48 hours to fix it, maybe "4 to 8 hours". Hahaha. My desktop is 5 years old. Repairman said I am at the usual max lifetime. I am going to keep using it for as long as I can.
While it was getting fixed, I mopped the kitchen and vacuumed the carpets. Then had the fatigue thing hit. Not sleepy, just tired. Frustrating.
Well I am back online.

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. I did have a lovely outdoor bagel lunch at the park with my friend and then we walked 5 km uphill, downhill and some flat in the park. There were lovely ducks frolicking in the river which I liked, more geese than I liked but the sun stayed out and it was cooler which I did not mind as I did not become a sweatball. I even managed to keep up with Debbie which is a feat because she is the walker extrordinaire, 15 km in a day is normal for her, but I did it.
I do plan on having a piece of cake tonight, just have to pull it out of the freezer, same cake I got for Mom's birthday last month, but it was a nice day. Probably will go to DB house for dinner as well.
Candy, I am glad it was not 48 hours, life nowadays almost requires us to be online a lot so it is an imposition when that happens. My computer will probably need replacing soon so I will be shopping laptops myself, just not gaming laptops this time. Surveys do not require much horsepower or graphics.

Joining everyone in happy birthday Mara!
Mae you are always inspiring....
Good that you keep us in the loop Candy as we watch for you.
Tomorrow Faslodex jabs no 3 and then meeting my lovely nephew ( 21, a student living around the corner from my hospital) for a wee walk in the park.
-
Thank you Karenfizedbo, I had a lovely day. Did not have cake, while it was defrosting, my older DB came over and dropped off my requested peanut butter fingers so I am having them for the first time in years. When I became intolerant of peanuts, I did not eat them. Now on my digestive enzymes, I can enjoy peanut things again. They are delicious. Enjoy your wee walk in the park with your nephew. Hope it is nice out.

MARA Happy Birthday
-
was a rough nasty day outside today. Ventured to target with my DD and enjoyed myself with her. We’ve. Been spending a lot of time together and I am really loving it. She’s so beautiful inside and outside. I am lucky to have a lovely family. She took pics recently and I just love some of them!
She arranged for some really cute pics with her DH that my DH took. He loves his photography!!! They came out wonderful!

Happy birthday, Mara. Glad you got your computer back soon, Candy. It's a nice surprise to get something fixed sooner than anticipated.
Hi to everyone else! I usually don't get on my computer until 7:30 or 8 at night so I always feel that I am too late to comment on the day's happenings.I always read the posts and try to keep up with everyone. I have labs at 8:30 tomorrow morning and we are expecting 2-3" of snow tonight; hope the roads aren't slippery!
-
Lee~be safe driving on your way. For your labs. Hope they are quick.

Thanks again for all the birthday wishes, thank you Tanya as well as everyone else too.
Mel, you daughter and her husband look so young and good looking. Makes me wish for younger days too. Oh well, I will take these days as they come at 49 which is how old I am now. Wow! I was only 44 when initially dx'd. Time really does fly by. I have had mostly good days and some real crap days but am lucky for this time I have had and feel grateful.
Mel, I am also glad you got out to target with DD as well and had a good time.
I don't have much planned tomorrow, I have my Herceptin in the afternoon and that is about it. Still supposed to be cool and sunny which is nice, I prefer not to be a

Happy belated birthday Mara! Every year is a 🎁.

Mel..your DH's beauty must be inherited..inside and outside. Your SIL is a very lucky man.
-
thank you Sandi. She is precious to me. Yes he is lucky. Very.

Hi! I wasn't online yesterday, so I wanted to wish you a happy belated birthday, Mara.
Warning coming up. I was having symptoms of a yeast infection and took everything under the sun. Two different suppository medicines, diflucan, and the latest was one day of boric acid capsules. I knew it wasn't a yeast infection when it didn't get better.
Tropical Storm Eta be damned, I went to the emergency room at 11:00 pm ET. There were no other patients, thank goodness. The itch was beyond my control. I had used flushable wipes while I was on vacation, and I believe they were the culprit. I was in such bad shape when I got there. I had the nicest doctor and nurse. They gave me a starter steroid and Benadryl and lidocaine. He then gave me four prescriptions. There was no infection, it was a huge inflammatory process. All the chemicals I was using were making it worse. Don't be me. Don't wait. And try not to use flushable wipes they're the devil. I barely ate yesterday, and I went from 117 to 114.5. I lose weight extremely easy when I don’t eat.
Mel, great pictures.Candy, so happy you got your computer back so quickly
-
KBL, I am sorry to hear the drugs you thought would help caused such a reaction down there, that would be awful. I hope the ER was able to calm things down for you.
Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes, they were definitely appreciated and it was a very nice day indeed, love the picture Goldens. Yes, I am one year older which is always good in this situation.
Today is a regular day, I am busy with surveys, laundry and household chores. Had my usual beans, spinach, shredded cheese. Topped with a few tortilla chips and a dollop of queso. I do have my Herceptin infusion so I will walk to and from as usual. Bringing an unusual snack today. Going to bring a spoonful or more of peanut butter, a little fibre one honey almond flakes with a few chocolate chips, mix it all together and have it during my infusion. Should fuel up the walk home. Not sure if I will walk as far as I did before or save the long haul walking for tomorrow or saturday. I will see about that. Just the hospital walk is just over an hour round trip.
-
Wow, KBL. Hope you are on the mend now. Not fun.
Nothing here today. Read book, check in with you guys. Quiet.
Mel- Good pics.
-
KBL~Very glad you're improving, no ER visit is ever fun. I'm just glad no one was there. Empty ER is better for sure.Drink a lot of water I would assume. Please feel better....
Hi Candy ~ quiet here too today. No target store trips today. Got a package delivered. That's always fun.
For Christmas. Believe it or not I have everything done for gifts. Some money later, but the gifts are wrapped and stocking stuffers also. I have four more things to wrap and I'm done completely. Then I'll move onto the Christmas cards and decorating. I started shopping in February of 2020. Helped tremendously....I'm not going to over do the decorating, DH just painted. So it's a big no for wall things. Just a simple real tree and wreath. Should do just fine. When the kids were little. I went all out. To the nines. Just can't do it anymore. Makes me sad. I enjoyed the lights myself honestly.
