    Hello beep7bop

If you go to the thread High Calcium in the forum Not diagnosed with metastases but concerned, you will find a lot of useful posts.

If you also go to the thread Parathyroid disease and breast cancer in the forum IDC (Invasive ductal carcinoma) you will find all that you need to know about parathyroid disease and adenomas (tumours) that cn form on any of the four tiny parathyroid glands and cause problems.

You will find my own posts on there and what I went through to get parathyroid problems cured.

Wishing you all the very best.

    Sylvia

I had high calcium levels when I was diagnosed with stage 4, which was caused by my bone mets. I didn’t have parathyroid issues, just advanced, aggressive bone mets throwing off calcium from my bone into my bloodstream. It was a dangerous situation and I had a difficult time getting it under control. Calcium is a delicate electrolyte in the blood and must remain within a certain range, not too high, not too low, for the body to function. Good luck sorting out your parathyroid issue and controlling your hypercalcemia.

This is me again, I don't know yet if mine is or isn't a recurrence yet. My calcium is 10.9 which is high since I am 70 years old. Went to orthopedic because of so much pain in my knee. But when I saw my kidney doctor he said my labs from last week show high calcium and he was sending it over to oncologist. So I see them on Tuesday, which I am sure will mean more test and a waiting game. I am scheduled for recheck on area they found two months ago in left breast. They decided to do watch game on. So we will wait and see. Wish me Luck. For those that don't know I lost my youngest Son June 24,2020 he was 43. Went for a walk down the road and was struck by a car. I still want him to come walking threw the kitchen door saying I'm back is dinner ready.

Beep, I am so sorry to hear about your son. So awful. I cannot imagine what you are going through.

Good luck with your appointment. I hope this is much ado about nothing. 10.9 is out of normal range but just slightly. The only other thing that elevated my calcium levels on my bloodwork one time was when I had my bloodwork done shortly after I took a calcium supplement with lunch.
