Ibrance dosage keeps getting lowered due to low WBC count

On Round 6 of Ibrance and Letrozole. Feeling excellent except for the daily afternoon nap. How many of you have had your Ibrance dosage lowered due to low white blood cell count. Just one week in to Round 6 at 100 mg, and my oncologist is having me stop for a week, get my blood checked again and then drop to 75 mg. I started the therapy on 125 mg.

Just wondering if you have the same WBC problem as I do. What dosage of Ibrance are you on? My WBC dropped to 2.2 this week, but for round 5 I was a 3. Difficult to find my breast tumor now. It has gone from 3.5 to 2.5 and today the oncologist couldn't even feel it. I am the unlucky (or lucky?) lady who had one round of chemo because the P.A. didn't initially read the bone scan correctly and I was misdiagnosed. Lost my hair in February due to that round of chemo, but loving the soft curly hair growing back at last! I laugh and say that this will become the new protocol for bone mets!

Hi woodlands, I too had my Ibrance lowered to 100 mg after a few cycles due to low white blood counts. Mine are still low at the end of my Ibrance week off and last month I needed to take a second week off of the 100mg. My oncologist has said we might lower to 75 mg - I go in this upcoming Friday. Good news is my pet scan in June after 7 cycles of Ibrance/Fulvestrant I had no evidence of active disease. Pretty happy about that and would like to stay on Ibrance for a long time. Great news that your breast tumor is not detectable by touch when it used to be - sounds like the Ibrance is working! There are many women on 75 mg Ibrance who are doing well and have been on it for awhile on the Ibrance thread - so I think even if we are on 75 mg it will be fine. Love that you are enjoying your hair!

I started at 125 mg, and after the first round and an extra week off, I was put on75 mg. I still have low counts every month after my week off, but they’ve let me continue taking it.

I’ve been on 125 about a year. My MO says my labs are always low, but he isn’t concerned. So I muddle on. It’s not uncommon to have it dropped.

My oncologist lowered mine from 125 to 100 after 11 rounds of it. Not because of low WBC (they are quie low, but haven't changed much over the last several months). Today WBC 2.0, RBC ;3.6 July 2.2, 3.5. She recommended lowering it because for people like me, studies over time are showing that 100mg would be just as effective for the BC. In two days I start the 100. She is hoping my WBC will go up some. Has anyone else been told that a 100mg is just as effective as 125 mg? She said the higher dose is from clinical trials and what insurance companies usually require.

I started on 125 mg. and stopped after 2 weeks because of low counts. Took the rest of the cycle off and then Onc put me on 100 mg. which was still causing low counts so the 3rd cycle was lowered to 75 mg. and I have been on that since. I go in for labs this Fri . and hopefully will start cycle 9. My last CT scan was in June and showed improvement so I am hoping 75 mg. is working!
