Gardening, anyone?

Hmmm. I'll have to try one. In Houston the gardening pages were all about the azaleas and I got the impression they were very hard to grow. I've just never bought one up here.

Didn't do a veggie garden this year. Got a tomato plant though. Got my flowers in the flower bed yesterday. I have marigolds and red and white begonias.

That poor mother/father bird must be exhausted. I'm tired just from watching for a few minutes. Lots of fund to have birds to watch.

Was watering my plants this morning when I noticed my Christmas Cactus is sprouting new growth and my new Pothos has new growth as well. Tomato plant has 5 tomatoes growing already.

One of my begonias that didn’t even have a flower on it when I planted it, now has one!

Going to try to set up camera when they fly out. I will probably miss them :-P

I'm trying to grow edible plants again this summer. I have tried so many times in the last 7 years and been defeated by the chipmunks, squirrels and bunnies. But since coronavirus, I decided to try to grown some fresh produce in case it gets scarce or super expensive. What used to be my strawberry garden that I then switched to flowers in defeat is now back to 3 giant sunflowers, green beans and poblano pepper. In containers I have a cherry tomato plant, cucumbers that I'll attempt to grow on a tomato cage?, romaine lettuce and oregano, basil, chives and parsley.

I am seriously suffering from a lack of flowers though. Is there a Flowerholics Anonymous? By the time I got to the garden shop, there weren't too many annuals to plant. I'm not sure if they ordered less or if I was just two weeks late, which I was, so I just bought one prepotted flower pot for my front porch. I added to the porch my fairy garden that was indoors and put out an orchid that wasn't doing well inside. Along my walk I usually plant all in annuals. I ended up moving some sedums and some alyssum that sprouted from last year's seed and am trying hard to be satisfied with that. Then on my deck I moved my other fairy garden and a succulent pot that were also indoors. Trying to make do with those and my perennials but I don't like it!

Oh! Rub in it. Ours are 6" tall and just trying to bloom. Our big tomato crop is in September.
