Hello, I have been experiencing la ow grade and sometimes high fevers for about 3 weeks now. I still felt really good until the past week. I've been in bed and not eating much. I was taking Kisquali/Letraole for the past 8 months, but stopped 3 weeks ago because of horrible leg pains. My MO was aware of this and he was going to put me on something else. I had a catscan done 2 days ago because of the leg pains and showed progression in my bones. Before this I was living a pretty normal life and exercising every week, but then my tumor markers started going up.

Spoke to my MO yesterday on the phone and he is trying to figure out why Im getting fevers, So he wanted me to go in and see him today. Well naturally I couldn't get past the front doors with a fever. I then spent 4 hours in the ER having blood work done. They were checking for an infection. Of course they did the Covid19 test, but I literally have no other symptoms of that. The ER Dr talked to my oncologist and then spoke to me. They basically think it my body fighting the cancer. Has anyone had this before?

I'm sorry for the long winded post, but I'm just trying to paint a picture of what I'm going through right now. My fever was 101 today.

Thank you and I appreciate you listening to me.

Hmmm. If you hadn't told your doctor that would have been the answer. But since you have. . . and I'm truly sorry you had to be exposed to the emergency room.

Sounds like your body is fighting something. What. . .who knows? Not Covid-19 we trust.

The last time I had random fevers it turned out to be a lung inflammation. Which they saw on my chest x-ray.

So about all I can offer is a few hugs. Since your immune system is revved up maybe it can solve the problem on it's own.

Well I had a ton of blood work done and no infection. Also tested negative for Covid19, which is good. The MO has no idea why I have these fevers for a month. He suggested maybe testing for Lyme. Anyway, just wanted to update you.

    Thank you!

I have persistent random fevers as well. My MO thinks it's just the cancer messing with the hypothalamus (which controls our body temperature) &/or response to inflammation from the cancer. We basically ignore them now. I'm cleared to treat with fever reducing meds as needed unless i develop other symptoms or if the fevers persist for hours or keep rising. Usually it's just a few hours and then it's gone.

They're unpleasant and a nuisance - esp when I get horrible chills sometimes.

Fwiw, I kinda think my body's response to stress is to lose thermoregulation. Even before I was sick and before hormonal changes I would often get overly hot or cold during exams or if travelling and sleep deprived ... suddenly I'd be running a fever but I just needed to take a fever reducer and go to bed and I'd be fine.

Just in case it helps you to know that there is another person with random fevers lol

Moth, thank you so much for your reply. It actually does make me feel better to know someone else is going through this, too. Right now I'm fine, but all of a sudden I might get really cold. I'm hoping they will just go away soon.I was also wondering if it could be from my implants, but I don't know.

    Thanks, again.
