Momchichi love the house panther!

My late sister had three hefty boys kitties. Two black and white ones who were litter mates and a handsome black Burmese that she rescued. Brutus and Wacko were the litter mates. Brutus, was so gentle and laid back. Wacko lived up to his name. He was one truly whacked out kitty. And Skitzo or Skitz, wouldn't come out of hiding unless it was to eat or use the kitty box, although that changed in the last few years of his life.

They were good unless you had a bag of Doritos and then you had to deal with a four pawed furry thief! Back in high school I stayed at my sister's one Friday night to watch my niece and nephews while my sister and brother in law went out with some friends. Figured once the kiddos were in bed I would get a jump on my homework that I had to do. I brought a bag of Doritos with me in case I wanted a snack. Got the kids in bed and settled in to do my homework. Halfway through doing homework and having my Doritos, I got up to get a drink and when I came back to the living room there was Wacko running up the stairs with my bag of Doritos! I had to chase him into my sister's bedroom and across her bed just to get my Doritos back! I learned my lesson after what I call The Great Doritos Caper!

One of our black cats used to eat thru the plastic of a loaf of bread. She would start eating diagonally from the back corner, taking out the maximum number of slices.

Had a highly entertaining kitty boxing match here last night. Princess was chilling out on a little rug here in the living room and Grace jumped off my lap and landed on her sister. Princess got Grace off her and the two proceeded to swat at each other with their front paws without any claws showing. Grace left her alone after Princess landed two good paw slaps! Even my hubby was laughing over this.

Princess decided to use me as a launch pad tonight while chasing her sister. She went from the floor, my lap and the arm of my chair before landing on her sister tonight.

Good morning, cat lovers. Felix woke me up at 6:00 wanting to be fed. Louie said it was a good morning to take an after breakfast nap in the big bed. It is a little cooler this morning and Louie prefers warm days. Louie likes to eat fake plants, but not plastic bags. Wally is a handsome cat.

Snickers probably wouldn't be happy with either at her age. Either would upset her status as an only child, and could send her under a bed or the Bridge. I understand your husband wanting somebody to snuggle, but for the time being, I wouldn't.A puppy or kitten would be a lot for a cranky old lady to put up with. ALL that ENERGY. Chasing and PLAYING!!! With ME?????? Oh no fool. Go AWAYsmack.

You might see about a foster or adopting a senior dog.... you could give it a try that way.... Some older dogs are very chill.

I had a feral scardeycat and a friendly shelter tomcat, prior to getting married. My H had a dog. We crossed our fingers but expected the feral to freak. Instead, the feral and the dog (a very gentle shaggy dog) became best buddies!! And the feral was the alpha of their relationship. (And the friendly cat ignored the dog.) So you never know....

Thanks for your advice, everyone. If we do get a dog, it will be a small one and I would never get a puppy again. It would have to be at least 4 or 5. We'll see.

Yes, we have been looking on a lot of websites and have visited local shelters, etc. I am still not sold on getting one but DH does need something. I sure wish Snickers was a lap cat. I have had heart to heart talks with her several times about it, but she says she's too old and too lazy to change her ways now.
