Wednesday Weigh In

Ah! Cheesecake! I was just lying here thinking about the last piece that's in the fridge while simultaneously reading all of the weight loss articles for the New Year in The NY Times. I hate throwing away food! But it's going along with the 10 pounds I've gained since starting this whole cancer thing. New running shoes are on the way. Happy New Year everyone! Here's to good Health for allthis year!!
-
Happy New Year
Leaving soon for a Kick off the New Year Vinyasa class...the only class offered today at the studio so I am sure it will be packed. I am down 1.5 since last week, but up 10 as well. Here is to a healthy new year full of exercise and good food/drink consumption choices! TT
-
I am down 3 lbs this morning. I had to smile at myself for being glad to see a weight that once would have been unthinkable. I will continue to try to eat more veggies and keep portions reasonable. And keep exercising.
-
Good start, Carole.
I last reported I was down 1.6 way back on Nov 28. Today I am .4 lower than that, so considering all the eating events, I am happy with that.
Happy New Year and new start, everyone.
-
Restarting the diet tomorrow!!
-
Ruthbru!
-
I gained all but 1/2 of a pound that I had lost before Christmas......I have lost and refound the same ten pounds countless times throughout my life.....🥴
-
I threw away the last piece of cheescake! Hoping all of us have a slimmer 2020.
-
Nice job TH and Carole.
Ruth, I'm with you.
Pat, thanks for reminding me. Bye bye Baby:
Time to get serious.
-
I went to my MO appointment last week wouldn't look at the scales! I dont want to know. My clothes are still fitting so I know the damage isnt to bad! I have a been fighting a sinus infection for weeks. After waking up for a week with a headache I went to the doctor and got antibiotics. 2 doses and I already feel better! I have been making healthier choices for all my meals the past week to and that always makes me feel better!
-
Varga- I usually do exactly the same thing! But today I went to the MO and bit the bullet. I have to lose significantly. I took the following seven day challenge- and hope it works! I have to stick to it

I've lost almost two of the pounds I had gained back.
-
Today was my highest weight in 6 years. Tues was up 2 lbs from Monday and it was another 1/2 pound today. Yikes! I told DH I was going to eliminate sugar for a week, next week. He has been buying sinfully good pastries from a Czech baker at the farmer's market. Next week I'm eating boiled eggs instead. I don't understand 2 lbs overnight, but I guess it wasn't just water weight.
-
Antibiotics make me so hungry! I'm trying to make smart choices! The house is finally out of cookies and cakes from the holidays! I'll get on the scales next week.
-
Wren, I can totally gain almost two pounds from eating certain foods. Could be water, I don't know but it annoys me. I ate a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit one day, and although my calories weren't excessive for the day, I went up 1.8 lbs that took me four days to get off.
I have been eating just two meals a day and trying to only eat the meals, no snacking. This is working pretty well and I am down this morning an additional .6 pound from my last report in. Slow but I hope it will continue. Slow is better than nothing.
Falconer, the good thing about going no added sugar is it pretty much eliminates all processed food! Bread, yogurt, salad dressing, etc, etc all add sugar these days. It's pitiful. I'm no saint but I have gotten my sugar intake so low that when I eat something super sweet, it makes my heart race and I don't like that feeling.
-
I managed to gain more than 2 pounds overnight as well from a 6 course birthday dinner with matching wines. It was heavenly, particularly the foie gras with dark chocolate and goose liver mousse. I need to lose some of that and the Christmas pounds prior to another major eating trip in less than two weeks. I will try no added sugar starting tomorrow. Thanks, Falconer, for the link.
-
Heidi the birthday dinner sounds divine
-
Sometimes you just have to give in and enjoy the moment! Which I did yesterday when I was at a football-watching-party (think every sort of cheese dip/spinach dis/chips/crackers/sausages in barbecue sauce/Bloody Mary's with all the trimmings etc. etc. Back on the straight and narrow today!!!!!
-
Same weight despite the change in diet. Eliminated sugar and was following the seven day sugar challenge.
-
I was down 1.5. We've been splitting a lot of portions.
-
I'm on vacation....yikes!
-
Down a pound! Now only 8 more holiday pounds to go! Ruth- have a wonderful time!
-
I downloaded MyPlate. Time to get serious as my clothes really don’t fit.
-
I am going to have to do the same Falconer. I have been the same for a couple of weeks. I will have to put a little more effort into it. My ski pants I have had for years don’t snap so Iam not liking that.
-
On vacation, too. Double yikes!
-
TH that’s one of the recent moments I had that made me get serious! I was going to take the little DS sledding and I couldn’t snap my pants. Aargh
So far I like the app and it’s easy to use. I’ll let you know on Wednesday if it actually helps me lose.
Heading downstairs to the treadmill in 5
-
I have started seeing a personal trainer. She weighed me and my weight was the highest it has been for a year. I am going to do more exercise. I don’t know why I keep eating too much. I really don’t want to do it but I love food and find myself reaching for second helpings. Why? Just lack of willpower! I will stop doing it starting from now. Will report back next week
-
I was all set to weigh in. Drag the scales out they don't work! They need new batteries and I didn't have that size. I was going to stop at the store and get new batteries after I delivered Meals on Wheels. That was a flop to! I forgot my purse at home so I had no money! I tried!
-
I actually dropped a pound. I had to get off and back on the scale three times to shake the disbelief.
-
I'm the same as last week. My weight varies in a 2.5 lb range during the same week. I don't know why. I think I won't believe I'm really down until I get 3 weeks of it being lower. I'm always happy when it goes down and sad when it goes up.
