Fingertip pads/fingerprints
Hello & Happy New Year!
I started treatment for mets on december 9th, combo of faslodex & ibrance, and since the 2nd week I've noticed that all of my fingertips/pads have gotten smooth, rubbery, plastic feeling. It's gotten to the point where some of the apps I open with my fingerprinter reader is not recognizing it anymore. My doctors nurse has never heard of this happening before. Also my neutrophils are at 600 and I will have to miss the 1st week of my 2nd cycle of Ibrance.
Has anyone else experienced that and do you have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi Proverbs welcome but sorry that you have had to join this club. After over 3 years of Ibrance and Letrozole my finger prints are very smooth also my right thumb regularly peels. I am afraid that there are lots of different s/e’s that affect some people and not others and that also come and go. Good luck & HNY

The same thing happened to my hands/feet about four years ago. They are still smooth and ridgeless. Recently nails have been lifting at tips and peeling. Kind of ugly, but not really painful.

My phone stopped recognizing my thumbprint when I was on Xeloda a couple of years ago.
I simply deleted the prints that were in the phone and put new ones in. Lo! It recognized them. It did take a little longer pushing on the sensor but still worked. You could try. . .

I lost my fingerprints on Xeloda. The daycare where my infant went at the time required finger print ID and I felt mortified it wouldn't recognize my print from week to week and I would need to have it reset. The head of the daycare thought it was a machine glitch.
My phone would not recognize my finger print ID either. I was relieved when Apple switched to face ID.

Hi Proverbs,
I started faslodex and Ibrance at about the same time as you did. I have not noticed this issue with my fingertips. I also had my neutrophils go too low and had to wait an additional week to start my second cycle of Ibrance. I started cycle 2 on 12/31! I was disappointed that I had to delay but from what I have read on here it is very common.

I had fingers and feet peel from xeloda so much that I had to switch drugs. Fingerprints returned when peeling stopped. Just had to reset my phone.

Hi Aprilgirl1,
How neat that we both have the same combo, started around the same time and had low neutrophils with a delayed cycle. I don't wish this on anyone but it's neat to know of someone in almost the same boat
Hope you don't experience the fingertip side effect (even though it's not painful, just weird)

Hi Nopink2019,
Thanks for replying, I'm so glad yours got better! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll reset it tonight.
