30 years today since first recurrence

It was December 11, 1989, when I was diagnosed with a recurrence of cancer, which was then stage 3. My youngest daughter was in kindergarten. My oncologist at the time was not optimistic. When I pressed him, he thought maybe three years if I was lucky.

After treatment that cancer remained indolent until July, 2012, when mets were diagnosed in liver and bones.

I am almost too awed to celebrate. (And today I learned that my tumor markers dropped 10points --yay, Verzenio!)

Just grateful for all the time. Truly grateful.
