Well Cazzy here,, couple weeks ago I had my first ct scan si ce diagnosis and I'm due to get results on Wednesday anxious in feeling its nearly twenty past four am in UK and no sleep.
It probably didn't help my oncologist secaterry rang up and said my appointment changed from 16.50 to 13.30 which I wasn't bothered a out less gong out my mind she then rings later on she needs change again to 16.00 and this is because originally oncologists registrar was doing my appointment and couldn't fit me in the but now my consultant is personally wants see me yes I know I see her usually but j started think worse case scenario that she seen results she needs tell me she seen progression on my tablets not working. Then I thought I rather my consultant tell me the resukts not somwkne I never met xdx

Daylightdancer,
Everyone (or most everyone) has scanxiety. It is not unusual. Your best approach is to try and distract yourself by doing things that you like to do, meditating, taking a walk, or something like that.
The medical system in the US work very differently from that in the UK, so it's hard for us to judge if changing appointments means anything in your system. It sounds like there may have been some scheduling issues where you see your doctor. I wouldn't think it's anything more than that.
Good luck on your appointment. Please let us know how it goes

Daylight,
My oncologist at one point mentioned to me that it was fine by her if we just wait to scan when symptoms appear, since "all of this is palliative anyway", and I immediately said no, I want to know when there is progression and move on, hoping to be around for the next big thing, and knowing that the liver can be riddled with mets and still give no symptoms. Ever since then, I have had no scananxiety, something about knowing that it is being done at my insistance has made a difference, psychologically...

hey all
I think its difficult for me as suffer from anxiety and depression anyway thst why u worried about changing if appointments got to me me ii went for Christmas lunch friends yesterday and er arranged meet up for early lunch on day results fir helped. You mention going for walk I think thet one way ny anxiety got worse in some ways because I used to go for walks before ny diagnosis few months before I got worse with my mobility as now walk with stick and if I walk quite but cause my lot if pain
I would agree with you I rather the scan I have deposits in liver and shown no symptoms there just in boney mets how often you see oncologist over there me personally usually go every four weeks we get a blood test done before going and oncologist looks at it looking full blood count bone profile ca something or other
Will course let you know how inget on

Cazzy, scanxiety is no fun at all. It does seem unfair that you need to wait a week for results. Next time can you have the scan on Monday and see your MO on Wednesday?
It all sounds like a scheduling snafu. Or it could be that your oncologist loves you and wants to see you! [My MO and nurse used to fight over who got to see me. Mostly because I was no trouble at all. That's no longer true and mostly I see my MO]
I hope your results are just fine.
