Mets in Colon are to be treated as a separate cancer to deal with. Treatment plan include a combination of surgical treatment, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Targeted therapy can also be used to target specifically the cancer causing cells, tissues and environment that help in the growth of the cancer cells. But before discussing any of the treatment options you need to know about thestage of colon cancer and also need to synchronize treatment for colon cancer withyour breast caner treatnent. Good luck for your treatment.

My neighbor first had breast cancer and about 1 year later cancer found in her colon. The doctor told her the cancers were linked not sure what that meant. The treatment (for colon tumor) she had was surgery removing about 6 inches. She doing well about 10 years out.

Melmcbee, as I understand your post, you do not have colon cancer; you have lobular breast cancer metastasis to the colon. ILC has some “unusual” mets locations, and the gastrointestinal tract is one of them. I would encourage you to consult with GI oncologists (if you have not already) so you have someone to advise you and your onc on any possible local therapy, or interventions needed to help your body function properly. As far as systemic treatment, I believe it will be just whatever works with this breast cancer wherever it is. It does occur to me that Xeloda is used for both breast cancer and colon cancer, and even though you do not have colon cancer, maybe just because of the location that would be a good bet?

melmcbee, any updates? I just found out I have a mass in my colon. Waiting on biopsy results but wondering what treatment you ended up with for a metastasis?

Hey. No I have still been waiting on all the results to come in. My oncologist said they will schedule me then. I also am getting a cystoscope on the 16th cause of hydronephrosis found and the urologist wants to stent my ureter. They think the cancer is around the ureter. Im hoping its not. I am very anxious to start on treatment. I will let you know what treatment we start. Praying your biopsy is negative and for good results

Edited to add that my ER changed to negative and my pr is only 5%. I expect to get triple neg treatment.
