I had surgery on Wednesday to insert a radiation catheter type thing into my breast. I have radiation next week, Monday through Friday. Just twice a day for those five days. Then I am on to Tamoxifen.

Good luck gray skies. Sounds a bit easier to have the radiation treatment so compressed. I did Tamoxifen for most of the four years I was on hormonal therapy. It was easier for me than an AI that’s for sure, though none of it was a picnic.

Hi y'all, I'm from Enid. Just had surgery (lumpectomy) Nov.1. Surgery itself was really easy and recovery has been good (came down with a brutal stomach bug yesterday that had me in the ER) Path results were optimal--lymph nodes clear also margins! I'm really interested in grayskies experience with internal breast radiation...I'm waiting now on oncotype dx before making a treatment plan...kinda frustrated by how slow things seem to be moving right now, since I don't see my surgeon again until Nov 20...worried about how treatment will affect my work schedule (part time at a florist--busy season starting!) and holiday plans. I know this sounds like small beans compared to what many of you have been through and I apologize.

Going to try and sit outside and enjoy some beautiful fall weather today before the cold front moves in--or doesn't; who knows? it's Oklahoma, right?

Greetings milolucymama. Lucy was our very first beagle. Fingers crossed for a great oncotype score! Yep- get ready for the cold tomorrow night!

I’m rather uncomfortable with this radiation device inserted in my breast, but I’m excited to know that radiation will be over by this time next week. Internal radiation is a quick way to get it done, but it’s not without it’s issues. I’m driving to okc from shawnee every day for radiation next week, then killing time between appointments (about six hours between). Luckily (?) I’m separated from my hubby and he lives in okc, so he gave me a key to his house to relax in between treatments. It should be interesting.
