Newly Diagnosed and devastated!
Well my MO say it is a 95% change of BC metastasis , in my right lung. the nodes they were watching have grown enough to where they will now do a biopsy with Throactic Surgeon. not sure what that is like...once they have the tissue to pathology they can start treatment. I have been waiting almost a year with rising Tumor Markers and no real answers..I know have my answer.
I am just devastated. Over 12 years since my DX and treatments, this sneaky cancer or as I said to my oncologist "the little Mother F.....! can come back and wreak havoc with your life!! My oncologist says he can treat this and I can have many good years, I hope that is true as I'm really not done yet! I hope to get some help on these forums so if anyone knows of a good thread for me to go to please let me know. Thanks, Karen

I would be devastated too! I am so sorry you have to face this. 12 years is a long time, I guess we just carry this fear with us forever. I don't know what thread would be good.

Hey Karen,
Welcome to Stage IV land - I'm new here too of only a few weeks, but the old hands have been wonderfully supportive and helpful through all this new 'lifestage' learning. Honestly, for the first week or two I couldn't face these threads and I needed time to come to terms with the dx. However, since then I have learned a lot more about what this means and what the ropes are going to look like - I pretty much read the threads on living with this, the bone mets thread, and some of the chattier threads on Fitness, etc. Some of the stickied threads at the top can be helpful too. And I like the NED sisters thread - I hope to grow up to be just like them soon

Barteeellis, we're so devastated for you! So very sorry to hear this news, but please don't lose hope. You're sure to come across many other members here who have faced this sort of diagnosis and have gone through successful treatment and are living happy, fulfilling lives. We know it can be hard to stay positive after receiving such news, but hopefully you'll feel better once you've got a treatment plan in place.
Please keep us posted. We're thinking of you and sending you good vibes!

hi Karen. Sorry you are here . If you had rising tumour markers you must have been under stress anyway even before .
I had bronchoscopic biopsy (called EBUS or something like that ?), was easy.

I'm sorry you have joined us, but welcome to the forum.
One helpful and practical resource I would recommend to newly diagnosed MBC ladies is a book written by a member of this forum, "The Insider's Guide to Metastatic Breast Cancer". There is a free PDF version at her website.
More info here: https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/8/topics/831507?page=5#post_5373429
In the beginning, I liked reading the upbeat threads where people shared about living and enjoying life with and in spite of this diagnosis.
Life does not end with a stage IV diagnosis (really!)
https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/8/topics/818931?page=1
And the Stage IV NED crew and the Stage V exercise thread, too.
If you know your treatment plan, you can find many threads based on the various treatments.
There is hope and like that thread title says - life isn't over yet!
