Just diagnosed with a recurrence that is stage 4

I just found out this week that my cancer has returned and it is stage 4 (lymph nodes and clavicle on side I previously had cancer before). I am in my 50s and my oncologist plans to start me on Taxol next week, then radiation and then a couple different medicines after that (I can't remember what they were). My brother works with someone that has stage 4 lung cancer that did not have to do radiation or chemo but his cancer is thoughout his body. This person is doing targeted gene therapy. Is this anything that is available for us or is this a later option? My oncologist assures me that he has many ladies that are doing well at Stage 4.

    I'm sorry to hear this cowgal, that really sucks. Treatments depend on your cancer type, can you make your dx public so people can give you better answers? Go to Settings (on the left) and scroll down to the diagnosis and treatment sections and you should have the option on the right of each bit of info to make it public or private.
