Lumpectomy or Mastectomy
Just received my biopsy results. 2 masses in right breast both IDC. One is .4cm and the other is .2cm. Both grade I.They are ER+/PR+ at 3+ intensity but HER2 is 2+ and K167 is positive in 1% of tumor nuclei. Lymphovascular invasion, DCIS and LCIS were all reported as "not Identified". Calponin and P63 were both negative.
I'm trying to read and learn as much as I can about this new diagnosis but I meet with the surgical oncologist on Tuesday. Is it better to do a mastectomy or is a lumpectomy enough? A bit overwhelmed right now.
Thanks,
Luvadog

Everyone has their own thought process. You need to think it through, decide which you’d prefer, and then go with it. Most important is to be comfortable with your decision and not look back.
