Oh Madison...that is simply beautiful! I am so impressed. I love the color combinations...everything! What a wonderful job.
Ok ladies it has been suggested that Shepgirl receive an afghan which I think is a wonderful idea...we have a couple of other girls in mind too that haven't received quilts. The two that Madison and I are working on now and shipping this week are "spoken" for so we need more squares...quick...pretty please...
    You are all the best!
    Love

    oops...one more thing
The ladies at church have offered to help sew squares together! They are a great bunch.
    hmmm...two things actually...
I need to know how many pegs to use on the rectangular kniffty knitter to get the right size...tried a couple of times but haven't had any luck.

    Dear Madison,
The Afghan is Beautiful!! You and Vickie do great work! I have more here, hope to mail out 15 or 20 this week. Should I split them and send some to both of you?

This is to Funny! I'm about to give advice to Vickie!! I use the pink color straight loom and use all the pegs. Hold on and I will go count them........12 on each side. I crossover and use both sides.
That is great that your church friends are going to help sew. I was afraid we might be overwhelming you two with squares.
    Off to do some more!!
    Love and Hugs,
    Denise

Madison - I'm glad they got there so soon. Hope they're ok. As soon as I get some work done on the baby gifts I need to get done I'll send some more. The afghan is beautiful...thanks for all your hard work!

Gus/Sue - Looks like we might be neighbors, how far are you from Portland, ME? We should try to get together sometime.

Madison, you did a beautiful job on the afghan. I started my second square & had it almost finished, thinking it was looking pretty good...til I measured it, dang it! It keeps wider as I go. I'm undid it & I'm starting over and reading the book again about the turn around, the stitches are easy it's what to do at the end that I mess up. But it's not getting the best of me I will learn this. I have too much time invested in this. I'll put out alot of squares once I can figure out that silly turn.

    Cheri-

when I was first startignt o crochet, I would count how many stiches I had after I did each row. That way i could tell right away if I had added one. It helped keep me on track. You might want to give it a try...keep it up. It does get easier.

Ok...I have enough afghans for the one I'm sending this week (probaby on Tuesday)with about 6 left over so I'm needing more. I am going to try to make some squares in between...thanks Denise for the advice!
We are mailing them out but not posting to who they are going to so that they will be a surprise when they arrive. If you want to know who they are going to pm me or Madison and we will let you know...shhhh. heehee
Cheri...Deb is right...count your stitches and you'll know when to turn. It does make it easier until you get the feel of it.
    Love and hugs to all

I have the second one almost finished...should be done tonight to be sent out. Not sure how many squares I have but I pretty sure there are not quite enough for number three so whenever someone has squares just let me know! I am making some too and may end up with enough but I also have some ladies at church who are willing to help stitch them together.
    Hugs and love to all

Madison that is sooooo pretty. I have 3.5 squares done. Taking my yarn and hook to the hospital on Wednesday. Not promising quality since I'll be under the influence but it's gonna keep my occupied while I'm NOT sleeping. O man why can't I just go home and sleep in my own bed?

Shirley, if you are arrested for SUI, we will get Vickie to grab Perry Mason for us. (Vickie is really good at finding people) He was able to get every defendant off the "hook".

Madison I got the book today. Thank you thank you thank you. I had already figured out the single and double on my own. Now I get to see if I can figure out how to follow a pattern. I'm so excited.

    Hello:
I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Mary, from near Rochester, New York. I work in a medical center, married, no children, 2 cats. I've been a life-long knitter and crocheter. Wanted to participate in this project. From what I've seen so far it looks like you have created some wonderful afghans. This is such a nice thing to do. Hope to get to know you better as we share this effort.

    Have a nice evening,
    Mary

Mary, you are so welcome to join in. I'm a beginner crocheter so I'm making squares, then un-doing them. These girls can use all the help they can get. It's wonderful that you've joined in.

Ok, I have switched to knitting. Need a break from the hooking. I am using Lisa's pattern to get used to it again and then I may try a basketweave pattern. I have to adjust it to the right amount of stitches. This is turning out to be so wonderful.

I know that FORCE is having a convention coming up in May down in Florida. They are looking for donations for their silent auction to raise money. Do any of you think it would be good to send one of our afghans to them for this purpose. I know it is a little off track but still going to a good cause. I will leave it to the majority, JMHO.

Look what followed me home from the Lion Brand site:
