FF that plate is beautiful! I think it captures a kitty's view of paradise very well!
Edj3 your Eddie sure looks to be a love and is handsome to boot. Love his name.
Wren great news about Cloud. What special folks to adopt him and we all know they will be rewarded with tons of love.

I must be ecstatic, I have cat hair EVERYWHERE!
-
oh my goodness!!! Yes yes yes!!! Cat hair is an accessory!

So happy to hear that Cloud found a forever home. I've been a little low as one of the cats that I take care of, Lucy, died on Sunday. I kind of dread going to the house to take care of the other 2 cats. It will seem empty. I'm not one of those catsitters who just goes over, opens a can of cat food, scoops the litter and then talk on their phone the entire time. I always sit with my cats and I'm present with them. If they are too scared, which doesn't happen too often, I just sit in the house and let them come out when they are comfortable. I never go looking for them...I'm just there when they do feel safe to come out.
-
It's great that you interact with them. They are probably very confused and missing Lucy. If they come out, they'll appreciate your attention.
-
Sincere sympathies. ❤️ May Lucy rest and play in paradise.
-
I'm so sorry to hear about Lucy! I'm sure the other 2 are lost without her. I carry on conversations with the cat I an feeding...lol! He's probably glad when I leave I talk to him so much!
-
Ugh! Grace drove me crazy for a good share of the day. She was chasing a fly all over the house and I was worried that she was going to break something.
-
-
Haha Love it!!!
-
Yup, that's the smile of a woman holding a cat.

Best addition to a painting EVER!
-
No doubt! That's what that painting needed!

Hi All -
I have not been here much due to liver progression, port placement and new IV chemo tx. Starting to get my bearings and wanted to share a sweet picture...
I am doing daily blog-like posts on Facebook ever since liver progression. Today's post was called...Instead of fearing this morning...I kissed Sunshine...and I think I liked it.
You may recognize this beautiful kitty Whitey...my miracle survivor kitty...my sister brought me these beautiful flowers to chemo. I was taking pictures of them when Whitey became very curious...and appeared to be kissing them... this is a brief little beautiful moment put in my path...to enjoy...and to appreciate...sharing the moment with you all here...

Another shelter volunteer sent me this. Sorry I don't seem to know how to make it live.

Hi everybody! My 11 year old daughter (who dressed as a crazy cat lady for Halloween) fell in love with this little girl at the shelter and promised to take care of her so we brought her home. She had been surrendered from a home with 30+ cats and 2 dogs and was the last of her group to be adopted due to a bad rear leg causing a limp. So far, all lovebug and no “tortitude” but our dogs are unsure of their new feline friend. My daughter named her “Luna Lovefood” on a play on the Harry Potter character and because she is on a diet to help take the strain off her bad leg.
Love this thread!

What a big heart your girl has! And that kitty is all kinds of gorgeous! I have my two remaining boy kitties on (much needed) diets and they are CRANKY. How's Luna doing on a diet?

If anyone has suggestions on winter feral cat shelters, please let me know. I've downloaded some information on how to make them using 2 different size storage containers, Styrofoam and straw. It says to use Rubbermaid storage containers, and doing the math on what size is not something I comprehend very well! Finding Rubbermaid containers seems to be a little harder than I thought too. One plan says to buy a Huffy container from Home Depot, and it looks pretty good. My husband can help me do this, but I wanted to get the supplies together (he has done a lot for these kitties and is balking a little, but if I get the stuff, I know he will do the assembly). I have two feral cats and would like to make two shelters. If you might be able to help me figure out the right size or have any other suggestions, I would appreciate it, thank you. I always enjoy coming here and looking at the photos of the kitties. Thanks, Lisa
-
Thanks, EDJ3! Luna is on purina’s overweight management, 1/3 cup twice daily but the weight is slow to come off. Shelter started her on it 3 months ago and she still has a huge gut. She sure doesn’t come running when we put the food out, lol. Hope she can lose the weight and start switching back to regular food soon, this stuff is super pricey! Here is my little crazy cat lady in training with her brother last Halloween
-
Yeah my boys come running and polish the bowls morning and evening. And it's taking forever, poor kitties.
I used to live in Columbus, lived in the Short North and then in Clintonville
-
I found it! Thought I'd share, just in case you ever are in this boat, with kitties at your house in winter. Love the photos, Halloween crazy cat lady! Take care, thank you, Lisa
-
Momchichi what a pretty girl Luna is! And absolutely love the pic of your human babies in their halloween costumes! Your daughter absolutely nailed it that is exactly how I look as a proud crazy cat lady!
-
Luna Lovefood is darling!

Cats in foster from the shelter have a number for adopters to call. Today was my day and I had 6 calls. Yesterday's person had 7 calls. Most for the same kittens. They are cute, I admit. I prefer adult cats myself. Haven't had a kitten for 30 years.
