9th Line of Treatment

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for people's thoughts on/experiences with treatments having already burned through a long list. By way of background, my wife was dx in September 2015 with liver mets. She's ER+/PR-/HER2-. With treatment the liver mets have fluctuated, but never fully resolved. She has since developed mets throughout her abdominal nodes, in a bit of the pancreas, her thoracic nodes, and now her cervical spine. She also had a single brain met in December 2015 treated with SRS and then too many tiny mets to count in September 2018, for which she got WBR. She's already burned through (1) Taxol, (2) Letrozole/Ibrance, (3) a Ribociclib trial before it was approved, (4) Xeloda, (5) Halaven, (6) Gem/Carbo, (7) Doxil and (8) Navelbine, which she's currently on. However, because we just found the cervical spine mets, I'm sure we'll need to switch treatment.

Anyways, looking for any insight into being this deep into treatment/positive stories.

Thanks

Hi! my mum was dignosed with stage 4 in 11/2014, she is in her 9th line too. Her best chemo treatment was CMF (4th line) with good disease response and no SE's. I ve seen your wife hasnt been treated with it yet. Its a combination of chemos (cyclophosphamide, methotrexate and fluorouracil), ask your oncologist for it

    Best wishes

If I might suggest getting Bestbird's guide to MBC? It might give you some treatment ideas you haven't thought of. You need only PM her and she'll send you a pdf. You can also get it from Amazon.

The only thing I've had which isn't on your list is a hormonal -- Faslodex. I've done it on it's own and also with abemaciclib.

Has she reached her lifetime limit of doxorubicin? [horrible drug to have to take]

Thank you both for your replies. I do have Bestbird's guide--I need to break that out. I'll also look into CMF. As for hormonals, I think we've moved on from them as she's never had any success with them.
