So I don't know if its the Ibrance, Letrozole, Lupron, Faslodex or Xgeva.or just plain going into menupause.but my skin is so dry and I have tried Lubiderm...Gold Bonds (all for severely dry skin)...nothing seems to help.

What do you use and how well does it work? Also what have you tried that didn't work?

TIA

Nicole

I’ve been using Cetaphil lately on the advise of a friends dermatologist. I like it.

CeraVe. I started using it during chemo because so many women here were recommending it, and I'll never use anything else again. It's the only product I've tried that actually makes a noticeable long term difference, not just when the product is freshly applied. Plus since financial toxicity is always an issue for us, it's affordable and they have coupons on their website.

For a real treat, try Josie Maran Whipped Argon Oil Body Butter. It is pricey, $28 to $36 for 8 oz. I get unscented, tho it comes in a few other fragrances. I only recently bought it for the first time after seeing Josie Maran, gorgeous woman, selling this for years on QVC. She slathers it aaaall over her body and it always looks so creamy and luscious. What I love about it is that it really soaks into my skin. It calms my skin.I mostly use it for my hands, which used to have dried, cracked and bleeding cuticles. But the Body Butter has resolved those issues. If you don't want to spend the money, you could always ask for it as a gift. Available at Sephora in JC Penneys.

NicoleRod I use the big tub of CeraVe Moisturizing cream all over my body and the SPF 30 Facial Moisturizing Lotion on my face. When my face was super-dry and scaly during my first round of chemo and nothing else was working, the Skin Renewing Night Cream worked like magic. I always get compliments on how good my skin looks since I've been using their products.

Lori, I do use the Cerave PM facial moisturizer but I do not find that it really really moisturizes..but my body is extremely dry right now way more than my face. I might have to give it try.

Thanks Divine...that looks good it would be good gift to ask for.

When I was on Taxol, I was using straight coconut oil on body and even face at night. So many prepared cosmetics and lotions were making me break out in rashes or irritating my skin while I was on chemo. The pure coconut oil was about all I could tolerate. (May not be for everyone but it worked for me). That and Mary Kay extra emollient night cream which I think is discontinued but a dupe for it is good old Albolene. Same ingredients and Albolene does not have coloring added.

After chemo I received Royal Elixir Cream of Youth by Perlier as a gift from my sister. I was getting lines that looked like smoker's lines around my lips (I blame weight loss plus chemo for those) and it helped. It is also very light, mild, non irritating and I don't wake up sticky from it, like some moisturizers. Another pricey product, but nice if you get it as a gift!

The Josie Maran does look interesting, might look for that, thanks Divine!

I have some type of Eucerin*, dry skin relief, perhaps? I like it quite well. It really helps keep my skin feeling supple and lasts all day. I have heard good things about CeraVe and plan on trying it this winter.

    * Sorry but I am too lazy to go upstairs to check. It’s a lovely evening and I’m quite content sitting outside on my patio 😊

I use this and I love it, mainly because it's without all those harmful chemicals. It can also be purchased on Amazon.

For the body, Palmer’s cocoa butter is good if the dryness is really extreme. Inexpensive and available at the drug store. I like that there are no weird chemicals in it also. I have been struggling with severe skin dryness with mets. It sucks. Lotions, creams and oils can only do so much. 20% urea creams in various brands also help but it is impossible to find any without parabens. I thought I found one on Amazon but as it turned out, it just didn’t list all the ingredients on its packaging which is disturbing.

I have seen the Josie Marian whipped argan oil on TV also. I may need to try that. She was a model before she started her beauty line. I first knew her from that.

I'm glad someone brought this thread back up because I forgot to post in it! I use Cerave Cream in the big tub. That tub sits in the shower becuase the dermatologist told me to apply it before toweling off. I have dry, freckly, sun-damaged skin. Lots of wrinkle and I've noticed since beginning the I/L the skin on my body is more wrinkly. Cerave is doing nothing but keeping it from feeling like sandpaper.

For my face I use the Josie Maran facial whipped oil in the morning and the regular oil at night. That seems to work pretty well. I didn't realize there was an unscented whipped oil for the body. I am allergic to the scented ones. I'll have to check that out but pricey yes!!! Yikes.
