MBC LIves Survey - please consider filling out
Hi there!
Please consider participating in this study about the needs of people with MBC. I have been in touch with this study's author and she is doing great work. She herself has metastatic breast cancer and is working hard to improve the lives of those living with the disease. Here's the link:****NOTE: advanced apologies but this is only available to people in the USA.
Thank you so much!

Hi Philly and Illi - I went to the survey but you have to be in the U.S and I am Canadian in Canada. I do believe in the importance of making everyone possible aware of MBC - people do not understand this diagnosis so it is important to get awareness out there! I truly hope that many do take the survey. Thank you for sharing the link. j

oh Janky! So sorry!! I totally forgot when I shared it. I’ll update the title. Thank you for trying! I completely agree about bringing more awareness around this disease. I spoke with the person running this, Rachel, and I really enjoyed speak g with her!

This isvery important data gathering - you can remain anonymous or choose a pseudonym!
-
Such important work; we need more focus on the needs of patients with MBC.
I am situated in Denmark, so I can’t participate, but I look forward to reading the study results 😊
-
thank you Vlnrph and Meja! I agree - such important work. And yes you can choose to remain anonymous or you can if you'd like to give your first name. You can also opt for a follow up phone interview with Dr. Rachel, which I did. It was really nice to speak on the phone with someone who understands what we are going through. I actually only know one other person with MBC that I have had lunch with and she's not doing so hot, so that's upsetting. I often feel so alone with this disease

Done. Thanks for sharing. Well worth completing.

thank you sunset!! I find it somehow therapeutic filling out some of these questionnaires. It gives a time for reflection on the whole journey a bit, doesn’t it
-
philly, yes. I was surprised by some of my own answers.
Did you change your name back?
-
i changed my name change my name and then changed my name again 😂😂😂😂 I liked my original name! I had shared the myths and misconceptions thread with my loved ones and wanted to be more anonymous...so I had changed my name at that time and now I feel like it is safe to change it back LOL!
And yes, I agree about being surprised about some of my answers! I ended up being interviewed by Rachel and we had some good giggles around certain answers as well as it seemed like she found some things really really interesting. She’s a great listwner
-
oh and sunset - I am curious, if you feel comfortable sharing, what questions/answered surprised you? (No pressure to share!!) it felt for me like I was helping myself gain clarity on some issues that perhaps I wasn’t so clear on before - my viewpoint, feelings toward self, etc...

awesome! Thank you MovingsoccerMom and sandilee

done! I agree with philly, this was a bit therapeutic and kinda helped me reflect and organize my thoughts. I was a psych major/sociology minor in college and had to canvass forand cajole study participants in my coursework (in the early days of the internet!) so I enjoyed that the study’s author is a professor. Hope she receives a lot of replies!

I typically don’t care to fill out surveys but I am curious to know what some of the questions are.

Shetland I am trying to remember...it’s been a few weeks now since I filled it out and I can’t remember exactly.
I’m sure if you opened the link to it, you could get a feel for the questions.
The consent form clearly states you can withdraw at any time
