Afinitor/aromatose

First time posting here. I am Ariane. I am 5 yr mBC: ER+-40% and PR 30%--am HER2-.

I have been on afinitor (5 mg) and aromatose, both 1xd for about 2 months.

Has anyone had any of these side effects?

-edema in one or both legs, with pain radiating up and down legs

-rapidly developed fatty tissue in upper thighs especially near public bone

-rapid development of fatty tissue in pubic area

-sores around eyes, along neck and upper chest

My most troublesome side effect is right gland in neck, a hard, painful, swollen, and knotted up tissue.

Although I had a doppler ultrasound on my legs last week and all was fine, I am still worried about embolism or stroke because I have pneuminitus in my lungs as well as some fluid.

I cannot get my onc to respond to my complaints to my satisfaction. Please help!

    Hi Ariane,

    We are sorry to hear what you are gaining through. Here is a page about Afinitor, in case it could be helpful Afinitor. Are you on/ have you been on, any other Aromatase inhibitor (e.g. Aromasin)? It sounds very frustrating with your oncologist. Have you thought about seeking a second opinion from another med onc?
