Cowgirl, I feed two community cats. If I’ve gone out to run errands or go to appointments, they will run to me and start meowing when I come home. They have me “trained.” I swear the female even knows the sound of my car.
This is the female. I call this picture “cat nap growing season”.
-
Gumdoctor, I’m so glad Whitey has you in her life.
-
I love when my kitties talk to me... they trill and chirp mostly, and I trill and chirp right back.
-
kathindc, bless you for feeding the community cats. I love the cat nap pic!
santabarbarian, yes, you described exactly what they do when they are talkiing to me. I will answer back now!
-
Cowgirl13 - love that pic of Maxine! All my furries chatter at me as well! I love a talkative kitty cat.
Kathindc love your potted plant

We have a very talky kitty at the shelter. She'll chatter until she gets you to pet her. Taking turns with other cats is not in her plan. Personally I'm in to quiet kitties. After a while the chatter bothers me. My cat, Squeakers, is named after the sounds he makes. Very rarely meows, usually at night, and sounds very Siamese.
A cat at the shelter has a paralyzed larynx which makes her breathing and purring very loud. The vet says she's getting oxygen and is fine with mild petting and attention. We have a CD of music for cats and there's a passage that sounds just like her.

My cat - a Maine Coon - talks to me all the time. It's like having a little child around the house!
-
Alannah is a chirruper, always acknowledges me and greets me. I love her sounds.
Love the Maxine and Cat Nap photos!
Here is beautiful Alannah

Vargadoll, my condolences on your loss. Our pets are soooo much a part of us.
-
Vargadoll, so sorry to hear about your loss of Bernie. It is so hard as we love them as much as they love us.
-
My condolences Vargadoll. Bernie looks so lovable! Its so painful to lose a beloved pet.
-
Vargadoll,
There are no words that can possibly comfort you. But several of us here have lost one or more of these precious gifts from Heaven.
I have lost 5 so far.
The only comfort I have found, I learned in losing my first one, Spud, to cancer. We had 6 months of surgery and chemotherapy and some amazing bonding in that time. The pain and agony and love and helplessness I felt for him was unimaginable.
In some quiet moment of emotional pain, surely from God above, I had the realization that the immeasurable love I felt for this beautiful, spectacular, little creature is such a gift. And the pain I felt is a part of that gift too.
Some people never know what that kind of love feels like for kitties or dogs or even people. Those of us, who are blessed to have kitties in our lives, and who love them this much, receive a special gift others do not. And that kind of love will be tied to that much pain when they are sick or when they have to leave us. I got to be the only one in his life to hold him during his last breath on Earth. I got to be the one. That was a gift to be the holder of all that love and all that pain for this beautiful little creature.
I know this is a little over the edge...but it helped me so much to lessen my grief and pain over losing him.
I hope it can maybe help you too...
Sending Love to you, Gumdoctor

Varga, I am sorry to hear about your kitty crossing the Rainbow Bridge. Be comforted that Bernie has met my beloved Charcoal and they are playing with other kitties who wait for us to join them.
-

Well, here I am again with a breaking heart! Izzy, our big cat, is not doing well. He was having a hard time breathing this morning. He's been a little upset without Bernie. ( we got Izzy first 14 years ago then 2 weeks later got Bernie) my DH was gone over night and I thought maybe Izzy was anxious because he wasnt home. DH rushed him to the vet as soon as he got home this morning. Izzy had so much fluid around his heart and lungs the vet had to drain it before she could even see through the xray. It appears its cancer and we have some hard decisions to make!
-
Oh Varga, I’m so, so sorry to hear this. Keeping all of you in my prayers. (((HUGS))
-
So sorry to hear this. Heartbreaking to lose one and have the other terribly ill. Hugs for all 3 of you.
-
Varga oh my goodness I am so sorry to hear this. I hope you can get Izzy comfortable and keep him with you for a while. Sending you hugs and prayers.
