Which hospital in usa is best for metastatic breast cancer
I am from India and want to have an opinion on my disease from usa for which I am prepared to travel to usa. Since I have never been to u.s. I shall highly appreciate if you can suggest which is the best hospital I should consult. I shall consult there and continue the treatment in India only. The immediate names which come to my mind are MD Anderson, Sloan Memorial, Dana Faber etc. Pl also suggest a good oncologist.
I have HR positive Her2 negative metastatic breast cancer spread to many places in bones. Have been treated with Femara and Faslodex which ultimately failed and on Tamoxifen now.
Looking forward eagerly to your comments

Mayo clinic is also very highly respected. I will throw in another suggestion, Dr Keith Block, The Block Center in Skokie, Illinois. He works with a lot of stage 4 people and has very innovative ways of doing treatment. I had a consult with him.
Good luck to you and your wife!

I wasn't treated at MD Anderson but I have friends who have been, with good experiences. Dr. Debu Tripathy is the department head. I had a consult with him when he was at USC in California. If you can get an appointment with him, he's the specialist to see. Blessings to you as you navigate this challenging venture! SB

Punam, check out this thread regarding MD Anderson. Several BCO members discuss their treatment there. Apparently MD Anderson is experienced at assisting patients with their treatment remotely. SB

Punam, any of the NCI rated Cancer Centers would work. https://www.cancer.net/navigating-cancer-care/cancer-basics/cancer-care-team/find-nci-designated-cancer-center
I personally am treated at the Dana Farber, mostly because they are four miles from my home. They are a conservative hospital but know their stuff and treat their patients well. I've been to the Massachusetts General Hospital -- they're more adventurous in the clinical trials that they run. All the doctors I've met at the Farber (and I've met several) are all evidence-based.
Most of the good cancer centers are willing to work with you on a plan and have that plan be executed at home. Memorial Sloan-Kettering, MD Anderson, Dana Farber will all do that. You aren't looking for a clinical trial but a second opinion so it doesn't matter what trials the institutions do.
You should bring any and all recent scans with you. Not just the results but the actual scans. You do not want to have to pay for CT or PET scans in the US. They're hideously expensive.
