Wishing everyone a blessed Holy Week as we journey with Jesus.

"I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25-26)
Blessed Easter to all

BLESSINGS FOR HOLY WEEK!
I'm in the music ministry, so it's busiest week (we also have Palm Sunday concert), plus my god-daughter is being confirmed Easter Vigil. Oh yeah, as church musician, I was holding my breath about the organs at Notre Dame (which amazingly survived as well) How amazing is this photo? Lift High the Cross!
-
It is a wonderful mercy that the roof was the prime area of damage, plus collateral damage when the spire fell. Personally, I wouldn't replace the spire. Now we are waiting to see how much of the stone was damaged from heating and quick cooling form the water-- how safe is the building? All of the roof does not have to be replaced before Mass can be held again.
-
It truly is an amazing photo. Hope in darkness.
-
yes, stunning photo superius. Thanks for sharing it. I visited Notre Dame as an 18 yo. Had spent 10 months working on a kibbutz on Lake Tiberius near the Jordan river. Made many European friends and so went to stay in France and Holland with them. I remember the very narrow winding staircase up and up and up...
And my shock at seeing a gift shop right in the church!!
May she be rebuilt with love and restored to all her glory.
Blessings to you Superius and all who frequent and visit here.
Blessings for all who suffer with breast cancer.
Grace to you
And peace.

from Augustine's confesssions. So beautiful...
Chapter XXVII
Late have I loved Thee, 0 Beauty so ancient and so new; late have 1 loved Thee! For behold Thou were within me, and 1 outside; and 1 sought Thee outside and in my unloveliness fell upon those lovely things that Thou hast made. Thou were with me and 1 was not with Thee. I was kept from Thee by those things, yet had they not been in Thee, they would not have been at all. Thou didst call and cry to my and break open my deafness: and Thou didst send forth Thy beams and shine upon me and chase away my blindness:

Love St. Augustine's wildly beautiful view of the Divine, I actually have it laminated and up on the shelf in my kitchen

HAPPY EASTER. CHRIST IS RISEN! XXX

Happy Easter All!
After four days at a conference in San Diego, I was happy to be home. I managed to get up for 7:00 am Mass, and am now boiling eggs. My sons (who have autism and intellectual disabilities) love to color Easter eggs. I am happy to give them some "blank canvases" to work on.
Many blessings to all of you!

oh!!!
Glorious photos FF
Thankyou for sharing.
Lovely story re Stations of the Cross. And beautiful work.
Had a beautiful Easter Vigil service at St Patricks in Melbourne
And Easter Sunday at St Francis where they had a stunningly good chamber orchestra and choir.
Just a beautiful Easter.
Praying for all souls who lost their lives in church praying...Sri Lanka.
God bless them and their families.

Amen Astrid, it was a beautiful Easter Sunday here too, but so very different for hundreds of people in Sri Lanka.
Photos are because I was so lucky as to be taking some photos for the Parish facebook page so got to photograph these glorious events.
I also got to go to The Blessing of the Food on Easter Satuday, a Polish tradition (Święconka), which was incorporated into the Holy Week events in our parish last year at the suggestion some Polish families in our parish. This is the second year and some of the families invited other parishioners to come and take part. Perhaps know it but it was totally new to me. It was wonderful, the families bring beautifully decorated baskets of food and put them on the altar for blessing. A lamb which may be made of sugar or even plastic is part of the basket contents.

My friend and I went to 7:30 Mass. The church was reasonably full. The 9:00 people were arriving as we left. I don't have my fitbit with watch yet, so I don't know what time it was. Then I spent the afternoon with friends. I don't see their (adolescent Lab) dog very often, and he always barks and growls at me. I think he has figured out my personality. He wanted me to play with him, I wanted to play with him, but until the barking and growling ended, our mutual desires were not fulfilled. We concluded that I need to get over there more often so the same scenario won't be replayed every time I have dinner with them.
We had a four-inch deep pizza pie, supposedly an Italian tradition for Easter.

wonderful pics and sounds like a beautiful Easter was had and shared MC.

May 8th, is the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary of Pompeii. A special devotion known as the Supplication to the Queen of Victories was begun on October 1883 and is recited all over the world, especially on May 8 and on the first Sunday in October. The devotion includes a request thought to have been given by Our Lady to one of the children healed at Pompeii, "Whoever desires favors of me should make three novenas of petition and three of thanksgiving."

Happy Easter, dear sisters! FF, would you believe that I also prepared a Święconka for Easter?!?! I am not Polish, but my congregation has strong Polish roots and there is a Polish community in my area. We prepare a basket for our convent. It is a tradition that I take our basket to our aged care to be blessed (I have done so the last four years). Your basket is beautiful!
I hope you are all happy and doing well. I have an ultrasound booked for this coming Wednesday. God is with me and I know all will work out for the good, I just need to have faith.
