No TV watching and reading? There's something wrong with that?
My SO watches TV and sleeps---and Lord help you if you take the remote out of his hand. "I was listening to that!" And snoring? -
Dont know what it is about TV but I just dont care for it. I do have a few things I will watch like animal planet, law and order, csi, and a few others but normally I just dont watch tv. I start watching and my eyes get really heavy.
Right now I find myself reading landscape & gardening books, mother earth news and building books or I am reading barn plans and drawing them out. Yep I guess I'm just weird.
Gonna try the nifty knitter though and went online and looked up some crocheting things also. Watch out girls!
Amy -
Vicki, thanks for the afghan progress pics, I think it is going great and you've arranged the colors so they transition from one to another well.
I don't know what happened to me last week, I did not do any squares. So far this week I have about 2 and 1/2 done. I have gotten behind on stuff: laundry, brushing Max, grocery shopping. We are really busy at work and the weather is brutal. It is snowing and sleeting today and tomorrow. I brought work home to do and ended up vacuuming and cleaning today instead.
Isn't there a proverb about never argue with a woman holding pointy steel sticks? That is where the knitters have it over the crochet girls. -- Donna in VA -
Look good. I need to dig out my yarm\n and get strarted on some squares.
-
Got my squares all boxed up and ready to mail tomorrow!!
On to my next set..
Lisa -
I was in the chat room & stumbled onto a lady that just lives about 4 miles from me. Go figure, in this little bitty one horse town! I'd met her in there once before and we chatted. She's real artsy-craftsy. We decided we'd get together and I asked her if she crocheted...Bingo! Yes, she does and sounds quite good at it telling me the stuff that she's made. I told her I needed to learn how to crochet 7 x 9" squares. (is that right?) She said she'd be more than happy to teach me. So I can be a part of this afghan thing after all. The squares will be beginners but I won't send ugly ones. I'm kinda excited. Plus, Madison is sending me a How-to book. Maybe my new friend would like to join us, I'll ask her.
pals
Cheri -
Cheri,
How To Book is going out in today's mail.
Yippe....Cheri is gonna join us.
Remember: Perfection in the making of the squares is not required....
Madison -
Ok I have not jumped in on this...I am still working on tit bits so please forgive me but I have an ample supply of yarns, and will mail someone stuff...please PM me...
Amy I forgot you were building a house..I did that...still not done, but if you visit this summer you can see..lol..
Cheri...please send the ugly ones sometimes put all together the love they are made with takes over...hugs
Vickie you are too good...thanks for getting this started..
MB -
Got 3 squares done, but will finish more before I mail them.
-
Vickie,
I'm sending some squares to you in tomorrow's mail. I've had a bunch of stuff going on here, so I've only been able to get 6 done so far. I'll keep working on it!
Hugs,
Sue -
Amy,
Trust me, Gs and Hs and worsted and wool, guages (sp), and counting stitches or rows. No way. I am addicted to my knifty knitter!! If you want to pm me your email, I will send you a couple of pictures of the squares I have made. Really, directions to me are all foreign, don't bother with showing me diagrams of what it is supposed to look like cuz they don't make sense! I picked up on the Knifty Knitter really quick, after leaving it on the ottoman for a week staring at me!!
Denise -
I just saw the picture of the afghan!! I love it! I have more squares ready to mail and will have another batch by the first of the week! Who needs squares? Vickie or Madison!!
Let me know. (Vickie, I think they are much improved from the first batch!)
Denise -
I need a few more squares but it doesn't matter who you send them too. I want Madison to have some too....Madison...where are you? How many squares do you have as I think they should probably go to you.
The squares do not have to be perfect ladies! The are made with love and we have a great poem to go with them. Beth has reworded the "Coat of Many Colors" song by Dolly Pardon and I will try to post it later but for now it's back to work on the afghan for me...I want to get this in the mail!!
One more thing...we have three ladies that need these afghans...Vicky...Marisa from the boards and Shelli who is really going through a rough time right now. I don't know if they are making a quilt for Shelli...can someone find out and you can all let me know where this one should go...soon.
You are all the greatest!!!
Love
Vickie -
Vickie,
Shelli got one of the first three quilts that Vicky made (before the latest round of quilt making).
Thanks again to you and Madison for putting these afghans together. You guys are the greatest!
Love,
Sue -
I should have a batch of squares ready to mail out next week if someone wants to PM me their address.
Pat -
Thanks Sue...didn't know if Shell got one or not...so ladies...Is it Marisa or Vicky?
I think Marisa as I can whip up another one pretty quick if I keep getting squares or Madison might have one well on it's way.
Hugs and love to all
Vickie -
Hello everyone!!!
Vickie, I have about 22 squares that I have made. I purchased about 4 skeins of black yard yesterday to start working on the border....
Pat and Denise- I can PM you my address.
Thank you all Madison -
Only two rows to go and I'm done!!! I am so excited and it's beautiful! Can't wait to finish it and post the picture!
-
Vickie---
I have 18 more squares---do you need them? Thumb is all wrapped up in surgical dressing (actually the whole hand is) so no more crocheting for me for awhile! -
Okay, I've never done this before - here's the beginning of my first attempt! LOL
Hugs
Liz -
What a lovely shade of sunshine! It looks great Liz.
-
By George, I think she's got it!
-
Beautiful, Liz!
Anne -
Keep up the good work, Liz! It only gets easier with repetition and this is the best way to learn to crochet. You get lots of practice and you are doing something very worthwhile.
