Has anyone had experience with a weighted blanket for better sleep. I sleep horrible waking up every 1-2 hrs all night long and (sometimes it takes a good while to fall back to sleep) and someone on another website suggested to look into a weighted blanket to maybe improve sleep.

I bought the beads and made one for a local charity, but enjoyed it so much after trying it one time, that I kept it, and was able to convince the members to buy more beads. I then made about ten more for several agencies which serve autistic kids.

If you are the kind of person who prefers sevewral heavy blankets on a cold night, and sees no benefit in heated blankets, then do it! I have a friend who got one from her husband for Christmas, and is delighted.

I’ve been wanting a weighted blanket for almost a year now! Fiancé got me one for Christmas and so far it’s helping me sleep. He got one with glass beads and it doesn’t get too hot keeping a good temperature through the night. Growing up my grandma had these heavy sheets and blankets on our beds and I’ve been wanting to recreate that feeling without the whole mess of sheets and blankets.

Probably not glass beads, but plastic.

It’s advertised as glass beads, but who knows. I’m not gonna cut it open just to find out as long as it does what it’s supposed to without issue. Although i wonder if there is a significant difference? I feel like glass may last longer with washing and durability, but to be honest I don’t know. Seems like they can do anything with plastic and science now. And if it saves money and doesn’t hurt anything that’s a plus! Still loving my blanket...wish I had one a long time ago. Always been a light sleeper and with cancer it’s worse.

If it says it is glass, it is, although I am both surprised and pleased. The plastic beads in mine would not stand up to a drier.
