Just saw the thread and wanted to join the "sisters". I look forward to sharing in person with all of you and the 18th sounds wonderful.

September 18 sounds good to me. I am looking forward to meeting you all.

Hi Friends . . .
September 18th should be good for me as well. It really will be nice to meet everyone.
Blessings,
Pat -
Hi all....
The 18th sounds great to me too....I will talk to my step-mom this week and see what she says as she has the power....lol.....and I will let you all know as soon as I know......
I think we are going to have a great time.....
I can't wait to meet you all.........
Hugs....
Candi -
Oh no...I won't be able to make it on September 18th. But that is okay...I will plan on making it to the next get together. My daughter and I are running a half marathon in the UP on that day. I will look forward to hearing all about it and seeing pictures!
-
Hi girls!
Oh, I'm sorry the 18th won't work for you, Notme...I was so hoping we could pick a date where everyone could make it...is that possible???
Went downtown (again) last nite, Mexicantown, annual party...one of my daughter's favorite singers (I like him too) showed up incognito...Jack White from the White Stripes! Fairly new band, from Detroit area, on the radio now. He was just trying to blend with the others...in a black silk shirt covered with giant polka dots, black tight pants...yeah, sure, no one noticed him!!!
Can't wait to meet everyone!!! Hope we get a nice day
Hugs

Hi All:
I just realized that Sept. 18th will not work for me after all. I should have looked at the calendar before committing but just wanted so much to get together with you all that I jumped the gun. My daughters and sons-in-law are coming in that weekend from Chicago and Milwaukee so it just won't work for me. So sorry but maybe the next time you folks get together, I will be able to make it. I'm sure we will have other gatherings, right??? Hope so!!
Blessings,
Pat -
The next weekend works for me - the 25th?
-
Yes...I would love the following weekend! I do want to meet with everyone!
-
Hi all:
The 25th should be okay for me. Just let me know, so I can put it on my calendar.
Pam -
Well, how about the following weekend....? Would that be better...? I haven't talked to my step-mom yet as she has been really sick and I've been staying away from her and my dad as I don't want to get sick....so it's no problem to switch it now...
Hugs.....
Candi -
The 25th sounds great. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
-
Count me in too.....but where are we going????
Lorie -
25th sounds fine...hope your mother in law feels better, Candi, hope it's nothing serious.
Hugs
Judy B. -
sorry, step-mom
-
LoriAnne and anyone who missed the post,
Candi's family owns a restaurant in Flat Rock and her step-mom offered the restaurant for us to meet. We will wait for her step mom to get better (hope she is ok) to confirm.
The name of the restaurant is Candi's Cafe and it's located at 26324 E. Huron River Dr. in Flat Rock Michigan..... -
Wow, this is great!!! I sure can do the next weekend - the 25th!! It looks like alot of the other gals can as well . . . super!!
Pat -
I can do the 25th. We need to get some carpooling going though when it gets to be sooner. Can't wait!!!!!!
As I usually tell everyone I am tall, blonde, drop dead gorgeous, guess I have to fess up.
I'm about 5'0", brown hair and drop dead gorgeous, ok, may be just beautiful. All right, attractive, sigh, ok cute, I hope you're happy!!!!!

Judy B:
Thanks for the welcome.
Have you decided about the Arimidex or Tamoxafen? I see my oncologist on August 4. I am pretty sure (97%) that I am not going on the Adjuvant therapy. I need all my senses about me. Can't afford memory loss/confusion and joint pain. Plus, increase in weight isn't appealing.
There is a wealth of information about these drugs on the Internet. Just type in Arimidex in Google and a number of citations will
surface. I'll keep you posted re my final decision. Let me know what you decide.
Pam -
Hi to you, Pam!! How are you???
No, I just can't seem to make my decision. Or maybe that is my decision. I seem to be drifting towards NO tamox., but feel guilty...I'm 40...with a 17 yr old, 14 yr old & 6 yr old...feel like I should be trying everything & anything to prevent this from happening again.
Hopefully I'll be able to come to some decision soon.
Hugs

Hi all:
Have we decided on a date and palce to meet? The board gas been rather quiet for awhile.
Pam -
I believe it is Sept. 25th, at Candi's family's restaurant in Flat Rock (if her step mom is doing better), but not sure of a time yet...
Anyone else out there???
Judy B. -
Catherine:
According to YahooMaps, it is 280 miles, 4 1/2 hrs. Not sure that sounds right, seems like it should be closer than that.
Nope, just checked Mapquest, which says 273 miles, 4hr. 20min.
Judy -
Catherine:
I would enjoy meeting you. However, your having to drive 4 1/2 hours sounds a little bit overwhelming and particularly when money is tight. Maybe there is a similar group in the Chicago area?
Pam -
How far is Flat Rock from Chicago? Sphynx asked if I was coming but I wasn't sure how many miles that would be. (Money is very tight as my husband has been out of work for two years now.)
Catherine -
Hi Guys,
Just checking in, have not been on the boards for about a week or so now. September 25th sounds great - as it gets closer maybe some of us in the Troy/Bloomfield/Royal Oak/Madison Heights area could get together some carpool(s)?? We still have time, of course, once everything is confirmed. Hope Candi's stepmom is doing well . . . Hope everyone out there is doing well!!!
God bless,
Pat -
Hi Everyone..
I have been working constantly and have not posted in sometime. I presume the 25th is still on?? Are we still meeting in Flat Rock?
Wishing all of you a happy day :-)
Lorie -
Donna from Grosse Pointe,
Hi, Wondering how your surgery went in Maryland. Hope all went well for you.
Looking forward to meeting everyone in Sept.
Lorrie (Shelby Twp. MI) -
Hi guys....
I'm sorry to inform you that I don't think we'll be able to do the 25th at Candi's Cafe....My step-mother and I seem to be having a communication issue so I apologize to you all....
There is still 6 weeks, so we can come up with somewhere else to meet.....
Again I apologize to you all.....
Hope all is well with everyone....
Hugs....
Candi
