Hi LocalLibrarian 🤗
-
Hello and welcome LocalLibrarian. Sending you and everyone here positive thoughts!
-
hi LocalLibrarian! Welcome to the club!!! I also worry too much. My surgical bra is tight everywhere, especcialy under armpits. The nurses And my support team trying to loose it s bit but it’s goes up under armpits again and gives me tiredness and muscle soreness but I found that Ativan can relax muscles and helps a lot! Do you have the same feeling? Anyone ekse
-
welcome local librarian yes Bostonian my surgical bra is so tight I swear that's what's causing most of my pain it sits on one side where my drains come out so that's making that hurt and it's just so darn tight it all hurts including the underarm part where my lymph nodes were removed I guess this is just part of the process I'm lucky I have a follow-up Monday at my plastic surgeon's office so I'll ask all these questions and check back with you guys to see if this is supposed to be part of it
-
Debsmisto, it’s looks like you are my twin sister!😉😉😉I have my plastic surgeon appointment on Monday as well! I think that tightness should be there, but I feel like they put me in smaller size bra😬.
Did you have nurse visit? I had twice nurse visit! I m trying to move a bit arms I can send you some exercise links it’s from Sloan Kettering hospital from my friend!
I m taking Ativan is better for sleeping and relaxes muscles instead of opioids. And Tylenol with antibiotics probiotic and vitamin c.
Also I took much more than needed opioids and we ended up at the Er, because I thought I have a stroke !!!cohldnt breathe and had crazy heartbeat!!!
-
Debsmisto , here the link https://www.mskcc.org/cancer-care/patient-education/exercises-after-breast-surgery?amp your case . Do you mind if i ask You why you have stage 3, the lymph nodes showed up clear after surgery, maybe it’s wrong? You supposed to have stage 1 by all means
-
I was staged at 3 because my tumor was so superficial close to the skin that it broke through the skin on my nipple it was a tiny under 1 mm tumor but was so close below the skin and had no choice but to break through and my medical onc said he had no choice but to make me a stage 3
-
Debsmisto, sorry again to hear it! Cheers to speedy recovery for all of us!!!
-
I just got really bad news, there was still cancer in my lymph nodes and my breast tissue so the Chemo didn't work, I am devistated
-
Bostoniangal25, I read your post. I had DMX on July 2. The first time in hospital they emptied drains I got queezy. Bp dropped got dizzy. They did ekg and monitored my heart. Checked for blood clots. Happened one more time at home because I forgot not to look! Now I don’t look when my mom empties drains and I’m fine..
-
so sorry for your bad results! That is the worst when you get that news. It hard to be positive when you get a call like that but try to be strong.
-
thanks Cindy!!!
-
Hello ladies! I’m part of the July surgery group too. Lumpectomy on the 19th. I’m hoping for clean nodes and then to move on to radiation and hormone blockers. Good luck and well wishes to all
-
Welcome new girls! First, I just post my pathology report : I had nipple spare left mast and recon of both breasts, unfortunately they find some cancer under my nipple , so it has to go probably and will have maybe 3-D tattoo. Stage1 B , and my tumors were scattered and microscopic the largest 9 mm.
So possibly will go for chemo . I have multidisciplinary panel appointment soon to decide what is my best treatment after onco type results.
Debsmisto, hang on here, we all hug you !!!
I hope they will come back with the best treatment plan, hun!❤️❤️❤️
Robinda2970, wow!!! I hope you get your drain tubes as fast as you can!!! I was assisting my husband in changing my drains, today tube was out of my body and sutures as well!!! And I m that awful surgical bra free!!! Hallelujah!
flag6818 you look so young, are you in your 30-40? I m 41 , my oldest is 14 ! Good luck to you, Dear!!! Smooth recovery!!!
Hugs to all

Bostonian- I'm sorry to hear about the bra problem. So annoying and at exactly the wrong time. What brand bra is it?
Flag6818 - hi and welcome. My surgery is the 18th. Will be thinking of you. My cosmetic surgeon was so nonchalant today. At first I thought - wow this is going to be a breeze. Then the feeling in the put of my stomach took over. I'm having serious short term memory problems. Making getting through this last week of work tough.
Debmisto - oh no! So this means you are to continue with more chemo? My brother in law was telling me that next week "should be his last week of chemo" (stage IV esophageal cancer) I had a hard time understanding. So I'm wondering if that's how it goes. They have so many resources debmisto. Hope those docs offer up support and encouragement along with a big dose of optimism
Greetings local librarian. Happy to support you as you heal...
-
Am I the only one who is braless???
-
Oneof7, it’s elastic bra that should snug reconstructed breasts , honestly, I thought they put me on a smaller than I size, it was tight under armpits , so I took it off yesterday. I still feeling pressure where implants are, and some pain where insisions are. .
Robinda2970, I was wearing bra , when implants on - they usually put on you tighter elastic bra and drain tube is usually attached to bra- very convenient
-
Hi all! I am newly scheduled for July 18 BMX with direct to implant reconstruction. Oneof7, best of luck to you next week.
Debsmisto, so sorry to hear your news, prayers for you (all of us really). I hope you get some much needed good news soon.
-
Lavenderlee, best of luck!!! Speedy recovery and good news!!!from pathology report!!!
All others - I m with you , I m one of you...
Debsmisto, please don’t be silent, talk to us!!!! I m really sorry and feel your pain- they should ce up with the plan!!!!
Girls, have a question- how you put grade and stage on your profile far before the surgery? I didn’t know any of this before surgery! Thanj
-
Bostonianga- thank you so much for your kind words! I turned 44 on June 24. Lately, though, I feel more like 90 than 44! My initial pathology report is what I’ve added to my signature for now. I know it may change and I can update it after surgery if I need to. Wonderful news that your lymph nodes are clear!
Debsmisto- so sorry for your latest results. Prayers for you and your team of doctors to come up with a plan that will ultimately rid your body of this beast.
I’m trying to stay focused right now and take things one step at a time. Not always easy. I seem to be suffering from a sort of brain fog some days. Think it’s stressed related...
-
flag6818, it so funny that I also have a brain fog, my husband has to explain me hundred time!!!
I also June 18 birthday girl - turned 41!
I have some tips for recon with implants- get a spirometer tube to breath in .
For all other surgeries- probiotics and vitamin C for healing!!!
Love to all!!❤️❤️❤️
-
bostoniangal25, what’s a spirometer tube??
-
Robinda2970 my friend suggested https://www.amazon.com/Breath-Builder-Volumetric-Exerciser-Spirometer/dp/B000Y02JMI/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1530826288&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=incentive+spirometer&dpPl=1&dpID=41OQbM3AW6L&ref=plSrch
For mastectomy to breath through, because implants peers on lungs and it s hard to deeply inhale so it’s helps. I forgot to ask at the hospital st time of discharge
-
bostoniangal- I noticed you're a teacher. Me too! I teach Spanish to 2 year olds to 8th graders. I'm hoping I will have enough energy to get through the day with them once school begins!
-
Oh ok. I had that in the hospital. Make that 3 teachers. I’m a teacher too!! :
-
Flag and Robinda, elementary shoolb teacher 1-4 grade , staying at home mom for now!!!
Girls, are you planning to take time off ? My oldest learning French and middle daughter Spanish !
-
I haven't decided about time off yet. My mother in law is begging me to stay home during treatment and take it easy. I do tend to burn my candle at both ends usually...
I've already talked to the principal about possibly needing time off once we know the final pathology and treatment. She said getting better is my first priority. I'm thankful to work at a place where my colleagues are like family.
Robinda- what are your plans for work
