    Hi girls 🤗

My daughter had her baby Friday night. After a difficult pregnancy the poor thing went through 36 hours of labor, pushing for 3 hours. My grandson is beautiful through. Planning to tell her, her older sister and my son in laws about my diagnosis this weekend. Also my 80 year old dad. This has me stressed out. I waited because i wanted to know as many details as possible beforehand to avoid them having to wait with me. Im thankful that my daughter will be settled in for a good week with the new baby then also.

Its a difficult journey worrying for ourselves. I feel like im in a better place but being mom, wife, daughter, etc just adds all the extra stress! Im dreading telling them. I dont want to see my girls cry.

Cindymb: Congratulations on the new grandbaby! Won't that just be a joy while you're going through all of this. They are so soft and smell so sweet. Enjoy! I can understand your waiting to share the news with family. Seems we women will always be driven to protect our loved ones from pain and worry. I had a serious health issue about 8 years ago. I kept everything to myself. Did not include my family. And it hurt them. This time I am trying a different approach. So I share more. My daughter did cry. My husband I'm sure cries alone. And my son -- not sure.. hard to tell. He seems ok. I do give them regular updates, including upcoming appointments and outcomes from the appointments. It appears to make them feel better. I hope your sharing time with family members is helpful for you.

Hi, guys! I had BMX with TE on April 25. As far as major surgeries go, this one wasn’t that bad. Had a small walk in the park a day after it, off pain meds by the end of first week. However, I find that emotional baggage is much worse than physical mutilation. But we have no choice and have to fight this awful disease by all means possible. Stay positive, do your arm exercises religiously, don’t take statistics too close to heart, and you’ll pull through. Good luck to you all!

PS: Don’t forget to use your insentive spirometer! If your hospital doesn’t give you it, ask for it and take it home. Helps tremendously with chest tightness.

We told the kids this afternoon. They said that they definately understand why we waited to tell them and arent upset about that. They took it much better than i thought and having all of the details definately helped. On to the next step of this journey. Thank you ladies, we're going to get through this. 🤗

debmisto. Your surgery is Tuesday. Hang in there. I'm going wild in my garden. I've spent ooes of money on plants and flowers. Ignoring inside of house. Ill-advised -- needs a good cleaning. A few of my siblings will fly in to help out. No family in the area. So I need to spruce the place up! It will be nice to see sibs

Anyway, you can do this!!! I'm routing for a smooth recovery and benign post surgical biopsies for you.

Hi! Had my lumpectomy on the 2nd. All went well except surgery time was 1:30 then got bumped to five pm. First surgery it was stressful and I really wish people had respected my no visitors policy. Recovery has been good and I am happy with my scars so far. They took two lymph nodes so now it’s the waiting game for pathology and figuring treatments for chemo and radiation 😞. Hope everyone one else’s surgery’s go well

gingerobie: glad surgery is behind you. Sorry to hear people visited despite your request. That drives me crazy. I have not told any friends. And only my boss. And of course family. Good to hear you're happy with your progress. Once again patience is required as you wait for pathology. Hope tests come in quickly.

hello,Debsmisto and my other great new friends!

My surgery went well left mastectomy and immediate recon of both breasts.

I didn’t like sentinel node injection, but was bearable and quick . Surgery went well recovery is good so far. I was overloaded with pain meds and next day when I came home from surgery - 1.30 a m happened 911 call.I took pain med and suddenly experienced a panic attack : sudden can’t breath, the air was tight in the room and my heart started irratically beaten. I manage to tell my mom to ask hubby to call 911. I was transplanted to er.

EKG and X-ray was negative for clots and I refused to go for pet scan. My hubby has md so we figured out it was pain meds

I m back home and taking Tylenol and refuse to take pain meds but only 2.5 mg. Because I really thought I m dying if heart attack!

I wish other ladies smooth sail and speedy recovery.

    First step is done.

Ps. 3 lymp nodes were negative! Waiting for pathology!!! Good luck to everyone!!?❤️❤️

Debsmisto, I have smaller size and my plastic surgeon is very experienced, so I trusted on that topic and no way I would appreciate another surgery. It’s an emotional roller coaster . I did had more pain in mastectomy breast so took pain meds.

It’s looks fine just feeling pressure on both sides and shoulders but using less pain meds .

My plastic surgeon said if everything looks good and skin is fine we would put implants and it was done. Thsnks god, praying for no complications for all of us! Good luck to you , Deb!!❤️❤️Sorry it didn’t work out from first surgery

while I have no doubt cancer is part diet related, my sister (survivor 24 uears) first advice to me was don't blame yourself. We cannot reverse the past. I, 100 lbs overweight have taped into the Paleo chat room here.

hi ladies! Had my DMX on July 2. Home recovering! Mine was basically prophylactic. Long history of biopsies, dcis and atypical cells. Had lumpectomy two years ago that got all the dcis. This past feb more atypical cells. I’ve had 5 biopsies and numerous call backs. I decided to end the stress! I’m BRCA negative.
